Confederate Remembrance: Senator Webb, the Confederate Soldier and the Lost Cause

It was still a war fought over the enslavement of human beings, and no amount of bullshit is going to change that fact. They knew what they were fighting for. They sacrificed their lives for that concept., just like the northerners sacrificed their lives to end their egregious ideology.
The confederate flag stands for slavery and bigotry, period. posted 06/12/2008 at 15:13:23

Letter From A Soldier: Answers You Won't Want To Hear

I personally thought Hussein was doing a fine job of keeping these religious fanatics in check.
What's the difference whether American soldiers kill these people or they kill themselves?
I'll tell you. When they're killing each other, no American blood is spilled. If we leave this afternoon, that's not soon enough for me. posted 04/03/2008 at 10:45:54

April is National Card and Letter Writing Month

Jawad al-Maliki should get a card or letter from every citizen of the US asking him to get his act together and make Iraqis start standing up for their own country.
I know they didn't ask for Bush's intervention and his unprecedented attack on their sovereignty but like us, they're stuck with it and should respond accordingly so Americans can go home.
You say you don't want them there, well do something about it.
We're going to take care of our end of the problem in November and boot out the jerks that got us in this mess, you should respond in kind and give our precious soldiers the pride they deserve for carrying you for all these years.
The best way to thank them is to stand up for yourselves and enjoy the freedom they bought with their blood and lives. posted 04/01/2008 at 15:06:23

Clinton Rationale for Electability Doesn't Hold Water: History Proves the Ability to Win a State Primary Is Unrelated to General Election Success

It is a fact that more republicans voted for Obama in Texas than voted for Clinton. When republicans vote for Hillary, they're sent by Rush Limbaugh, but when they vote for Obama they're called Obamicans.
What a crock! posted 04/06/2008 at 22:07:28
Yes, he won Texas by minus one hundred thousand votes. posted 04/02/2008 at 17:20:24
This is a most interesting piece of spin. Since it's the "only" argument Hillary has for a primary win, I guess the popular vote and total delegates have already been counted. I must have been asleep when that happened.
The paragraph about electibility in the general is bogus because it's all based on your speculation
not the "History Proves" premise in your title. Professor Beeless would have flunked me on that one.
And I am surprised to see the adjective "formidable" used in relation to Obama. Is he to be feared?
Or is his message more to inspire? posted 04/02/2008 at 10:39:11

Keith Olbermann Continues Feud Against Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart Responds

I thought the health care industry were the worst people in the world, not Wal-mart. The fact that this poor woman has a $470,000 medical bill shows me that your basic greed from doctors and hospital executives is still alive and well. I don't see any of them giving her any breaks. I'm sure the minute they knew deep pockets were paying, the bill got bigger.
More people in this country lose their American dream because of health care bills than any other reason.
Wal-Mart is giving people 12 dollar prescriptions much to the chagrin of the big drug industry.
I don't work for Wal-Mart and have nothing to do with them, but I love their business and philosophy and will always patronize them.
They're not stupid enough to go pick on this poor woman, they have their rules and they must reason that they can't make exceptions so every not-so-needy crook will come-a-suing.
Everybody whines about outsourcing and NAFTA, but when a great American Corporation like Wal-Mart gets attacked by an Olbermann, the public wolf teeth begin to show. posted 04/01/2008 at 14:29:58

Pelosi Suggests Bush Skip Olympic Opener

Jimmy Carter redux. I'm glad someone said it before I did.
Pelosi's forte is whimping out on Bush's war funding and dictating the outcome of primaries.
Athletes bring the world together, people like Pelosi divide them. They get their chance every 4 years, but unlike politicians, they only have their prime years to compete.

Clinton Surrogate Ed Rendell Praises Fox News For "Most Objective," "Balanced" Coverage

I hate Fox News, but lately, for a Clinton supporter, there's nowhere to turn without hearing Chris Matthews and Kieth Olbermann from MSNBC whining and pissing about anything that begins with Clinton. Cafferty ruins the "Situation Room" with his snotty one-sided juvenile commentary (poor Wolf, he's fair) and Anderson Cooper is morphing into a Clinton spitter, (Larry King and Lou Dobbs don't count for anything.) So what's left? Fox.

They at least give the two democratic candidates equal rottenness.

Maybe Obama supporters aren't as aware of the crap Hillary and surrogates get from CNN and MSNBC because they are oblivious to Hillary bashing in their comatose state of Obama-love.

Even Hannity was beating up on some minister for saying bad things about Obama! What's wrong with this picture? O'Reilly's ratings are soaring again, while Olbermann kicks half his audience out the window with his biased bashing. I won't support that.

At least in Huffpo they print Hillary supporters views and they're still the best looking political page on the web regardless of their Obama bias. posted 03/31/2008 at 16:52:55

Clinton Misrepresents Obama's Professor Credentials

Obama sits in for some professor and teaches a class, it's just common to call him a professor. How's that going to bother anyone, really?
Obama says his parents met on the Selma march four years after he was born. It just sounded more dramatic, more civil rightsish. Its common to romanticize about how your parents met, no big deal, really. No harm done.
Obama says his relationship was casual with Tony Rezko, known for his extortion, money laundering and fraud in the windy city, then Obama says later that he did see him quite often and even had personal dealings with him in real estate. No big deal there, he probably just forgot, no biggee.
Obama says he was never there when Reverend Wright said anything bad about America. Then he said he was, but it was OK for him to do that because that's how ministers teach us about Jesus. No problem, just the press repeating sound bites to rile up ratings and keep 'er going. No sweat.

But Hillary said she got off the plane in a war zone and bullets were flying and they had to run for the car. This is a monumental lie. Holy shit!! This goes directly to the heart of national security. This is different! How can we possibly trust her after a whopper like that? You'd think these people were politicians or something! posted 03/31/2008 at 19:15:10

Hillary Clinton: Truth or Consequences

Just what in hell do you think Watergate was anyway? It was Nixon's "plumbers" breaking into the democratic office in the Watergate building during the campaign. Sent by Nixon. Then he paid cash rewards to shut up probable incriminating witnesses. His entire white house staff was in on it. And there are reliable people who have said the plumbers slipped LSD into Edmund Muskie's coffee the morning he went protesting teary eyed before the Manchester Leader for their attack on his wife. And you say Nixon wouldn't risk his party to get himself elected? And you compare him favorably to Hillary Clinton? And all of those here threatening not to vote are really not loyal democrats anyway, right? Republicans and independents did decide the last election, you can definitely take credit for that. Thanks for four more years of Bush.

But once the primary is over and should Obama win, everything else, the bickering, the "aha" factor, the nit picking about delegates etc. is gone, moot, history.

We'll all be democrats in the same foxhole, protecting each other's back from the attacking republicans.
