The Need to Nominate the Strongest Candidate

"He has a lot more risky baggage than Clinton has as well and I'm afraid that the Republican attack machine will slaughter him in the summer and fall. What exactly are people afraid of if they do not nominate him?"

What are you talking about? Did he vote for Iraq? Did he take his daughter to Bosnia and make a lie about it? Has he pandered and sided with McCain with the stupid gas tax holiday? Has he supported the Yosemite Sam foreign policy and joined in ramping up to attack Iran? What would the repubs do that Hillary hasn't?

By what people are afraid of, are you speaking of delegates? I hope they are worried about alienating the voters, who have given the nod to Obama. posted 05/18/2008 at 00:13:31

Then, after Bill in S.C. and the "Jesse Jackson" comment, it started to tilt - with each "subtle" racial smear by Clinton, it tilted more in favor of Obama.
I think that's another reason Clinton takes older voters - older people have more prejudice - they grew up with it. Younger people were brought up to see people as equal and favor Obama.

McCain speaking about change is laughable. posted 05/07/2008 at 21:21:47
But lying is okay with you. Voting for a war of aggression isn't un-American?
The facts are that early on, Blacks were about 1/3 Clinton, 1/3 for Edwards, Biden, Kucinich, etc., and 1/3 Obama.
Then, Bill spoke up in S.C. about "Jesse Jackson" and other "clues" (Psssttt- he's black, don't vote for him) - the Clintons drove the blacks away...

A former president roving the world peddling his influence for money isn't un-American?

What about her "Fellowship" - god is good business - that's okay?
WHAT, exactly, is her highly-touted experience? What has she done? Voted for Iraq and still won't recant her vote - Edwards and Kerry admitted they were wrong to have supported the war, but HRC has the Bush quality of admitting no responsibility, no wrong.

Her campaign is a model of mis-management and Rovian tactics - funded and run by lobbyists.

Sorry, you have a very skewed perception of reality - something you share with Hillary. posted 05/07/2008 at 21:11:32
Well, she is the Goldwater girl.
I am surprised, tho, at a bit of honesty from her. She IS a chicken-hawk, but has been denying it. posted 05/06/2008 at 06:13:52

"Patriots" Protest too Much: Flag Lapel Pin Nonsense

Totally agree. I was in the Marines in Vietnam 4/68 - 8/69, and don't wear a flag pin. It's not that I am opposed to them, I just don't get the need.
By the way, I consider myself more of a patriot than Cheney, who is a coward and got 5 draft deferments rather than serve his country.
And to the dim woman who asked Obama - on that stupid ABC charade of a debate - why he doesn't wear a flag pin - why didn't she ask Hillary? Or draft-dodging Bill? Yet another stupid distraction. posted 05/03/2008 at 21:47:06

Are You Taking Notes Now, George?

I'd like her asked about Bill taking money from Columbia (and Penn, and Wolfson) to lobby for the trade deal
I'd like her asked again to spin her Iraq war vote. Specifically, why Edwards and Kerry admit they were wrong to have supported the invasion - and she won't.
I'd like her asked about her Fellowship prayer group - why that isn't scarier than Wright.
I'd like her asked about Bosnia - that if she felt it was so dangerous and macho, how did she decide to take Chelsea along?
I'd like her asked why she admires McCain so much - agreed with him going into Iraq, aligns with him on the pandering gas tax holiday, agrees with him on ramping up on Iran,....
I'd like her asked about why anyone should believe what she promises - since she agreed to not seat Michigan and Florida but now wants them seated. That she said she never supported NAFTA, but videotaped statements at the time show her supporting it. And, there's Bosnia... the lie told at least 3 times.
I'd like her asked if she knows her support is strongest with those with the least education..... posted 05/03/2008 at 23:57:28

Republicans Voting In Indiana Primary Expected To Play Pivotal Role

I'm not quite with you - I'll be 61 soon. I spent 4/68 - 8/69 in the Marines in Vietnam.
I am an independent - voted for Ford, Perot twice, and against Bush twice. I used to like McCain, in 2000, but he lost me over Iraq, and it saddened me when he said "we could have won in Vietnam only we gave up too soon". WRONG.
He just doesn't get it - Vietnam and Iraq aren't military conflicts - they were/are occupations and our military isn't geared for occupations. The only way an occupation can be successful is to win over the people of the country being occupied, but we can't do it with ignorance, arrogance, and by kicking in doors.
I also lost respect for him when he caved on torture. Not only is torture despicable, it is stupid - in the Middle Ages when people confessed to being witches under torture, did that make them witches?

I looked at many democrats and Ron Paul. I liked Biden and Kucinich. Hillary I didn't begin to detest until after the 3AM fear ad, her Bosnia, NAFTA, and Iraq war vote lies and her smear campaign. The lowest I've seen in this campaign was her performance on the ABC sham of a debate flinging slime at Obama - after he let her off easy on her Bosnia lie.

I made my first campaign contribution ever - to Obama and joined over 1,300,000 other Americans who have funded his campaign. posted 05/03/2008 at 22:34:20

Obama wins close race, beats Clinton in Guam

PLEASE, Indiana. Show that America hasn't dumbed down that much.
Don't fall for the smear, pandering and lies.
NO to Eva Peron!
Select Obama. posted 05/06/2008 at 06:44:26
Bill? Is that you?
You accuse Obama of lies? That is funny.
Let's talk about NAFTA - Bill brought us that and Hillary praised it at the time.
Let's talk about Bosnia - she knew it was so dangerous, she took Chelsea with her.
Let's talk about Iraq - She voted for war, and unlike Kerry and Edwards and others, won't admit she was wrong.
Let's talk about Bill taking money from Columbia for the trade deal.
Patriotic? Bill was a draft-dodger.

Yeah, two dirty liars for one....

No THIRD TERM. posted 05/06/2008 at 06:42:05
THank you. I see the same thing. I see 2 factors. The power base has control of both McCain and Clinton because both campaigns are funded and run by lobbyists. The zealot republicans want to face Clinton because her record shows she's nearly as neo-con as McCain - Iraq war vote, Iran resolution - she even agrees w/McCain on the gas tax holiday pander. How can Goldwater girl go against McCain? Iraq? She voted for it, he can call her flip-flopper. posted 05/02/2008 at 23:19:51

The Question of Hillary Clinton's Guilt-By-Association Tactics

There is no depth that is too low.
If Clinton were to somehow steal the nomination, I cannot vote for her. This is the dirtiest, most lie-filled campaign I have witnessed.
Her pandering, smearing are Rovian.
No surprise that her strength is greatest with those with the least education.

Let's talk about Columbian trade agreement and Bill, Penn, and Wolfson getting money from Columbia.... posted 05/03/2008 at 22:55:30

McCain Implies Iraq War Is For Oil: Watch Video

I have no idea what you are trying to say, but your first sentence seems to imply that somehow Iraq deserved to be invaded because they're Muslim? Iraq did NOTHING to us.

An Overlooked Hate Sermon by Rev. Hagee

AGreed. And what about Bill taking $800,000 from Columbia and Penn and Wolfson also being paid by Columbia? Why wasn't that repeated over and over? Penn "resigned" but is still on the campaign.

Why isn't she questioned why she won't say her Iraq war vote was wrong? (Edwards and Kerry have said they were wrong to have supported the Iraq invasion)

Why isn't her stubborness and value of loyalty over all else compared to Bush?

Why isn't she challenged about her hawk position on Iran? posted 05/02/2008 at 22:50:26
