On Charlie Rose last night, Rose asked Gov. Easley of NC if he'd ever talked to Obama or allowed Obama to try to persuade him. Easley said no. Rose pointed out that one reason Easley had said he was supporting Clinton was because he had met her and liked her personally. Rose asked why he wouldn't want to meet with Obama. Easley didn't have much of an answer. If someone WANTS to close their mind, like Easley, I suppose that's their right. But it's also true that Andrew and others certainly do not have to close theirs.

What you are listing is the amounts Obama has received from individual employees of those companies. No single employee can donate more than $2300.

Obama has had 1.5 million Americans donate to his campaign. How many have donated to Clinton? He accepts no money from PACs or from registered federal lobbyists. Clinton accepts money from both PACs and lobbyists, and has publicly stated that lobbyists represent the people. posted 05/01/2008 at 23:01:44

Your theory leaves out a few facts.

1. Hillary Clinton was the presumptive nominee just four months ago. Obama was a relative unknown.

2. Clinton had 200 superdelegates when the nominating process began.

3. Clinton had almost universal name recognition; Obama was almost unknown.

4. Clinton had the backing of the traditional Democratic Party machine.

5. Clinton had $100 million when the nominating process began.

6. In most states Obama has lost to Clinton, he had to overcome huge deficits in the polls in a short period of time. In almost every case, he has closed the gap admirably.

7. Obama will win the Dem nomination. posted 04/26/2008 at 19:13:16

Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean May Intervene In Dem Primary

That's a somewhat different tack from the one she was taking back in October -- which also, of course, was back before anyone realized just how tight the race for the Democratic presidential nomination was going to be. Back then, just after Barack Obama and others withdrew from the Michigan ballot, Clinton told a caller into a New Hampshire Public Radio program that the Michigan vote wouldn't matter. "It's clear, this election they're having is not going to count for anything," she said.
