Born in Columbus, Georgia where I attended Muscogee County Public Schools, graduating from Spencer High in 1958. Studied at Tuskegee University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Concurrent with graduation, commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. Began active military service on June 30, 1963 at the Air Force Materials Laboratory at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, working as an analytical chemist. Spent the bulk of my career managing and directing nuclear weapons technical operations. Voluntarily placed on the retired rolls of the U.S. Air Force on December 1, 1987 at a Pentagon ceremony, having served over 24 years on active duty.
Hold MBA degree from Auburn University,am a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air War College; a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Air Command and Staff College and Squadron Officers School.
