ABC Hosts Heckled After Debate: "The Crowd Is Turning On Me"

What do you mean he "cultivated" a relationship with Ayers? Ayers is a neighbor. He lives down the streert from Obama. They served on a reputable board in Chicago. Ayers is believe it or not a highly regarded Professor at the university of Illinois... Oh and his father was the head of Commonwealth Edison... that may be one of the reasons that he got a pass and wasn't prosecuted and why Bill Clinton pardoned two Weather undergrounders... You Have got to be kidding on your comment. posted 04/16/2008 at 23:31:38

Bill Clinton Suggests Young Voters Too Easily Fooled

Thank you Bill. Thank you. You have made my day... I'm still doubled over with laughter... From a NOT SENILE 70 year old who I guess is just as STOOOPID as the youngins... I too thinks that Hillary has become loathsome. I defended you strenuously during UnDone Zippergate. MY BAD... The thought of these two back selling the Lincoln Bedroom all over again has been too appalling until this moment. I wouldn't have to watch Jon Stewart for my daily laugh. I could just listen to Annie Oakley and HER MAN. Opps, no Monica's man. No oops, Gennifer Flower's man. No oopps. But we'd be safe from that. He's too old now. posted 04/16/2008 at 00:46:03

"That Boy's Finger Does Not Need to Be on the Button"

Here is a letter I sent to Congressman Davis.

I have read about your calling Senator Barak Obama, my Senator and a highly regarded and much respected man in Illinois a "boy" and "a snake oil salesman" further implying he is not fit to care for the safety of the United States. I am a 70 year old White Woman. You have just demonstrated in my mind that you are not fit to be Senator Obama's shoeshine "boy." And certainly not fit to represent any self respecting Congressional District in the country. As a proud American, who loves this country dearly, I am ashamed to think that a man as intemperate and uneducated as you represent any part of it. Small wonder the country faces the problems it does today. Small wonder it is today held in a lower regard than ever before in its history. My God judge you and may you look long and hard into your own soul. You are not a good man and have much work to do on your soul before you meet your maker.

I suggest that all of you who think such statements are amazing let the Congressman know. posted 04/16/2008 at 00:05:09

Debate Over Obama's 'Bitter' Remark Swamped By Media Distortion

I recently saw in an article printed in The New Republic which prides itself on its intellectual elitism< will we ever be able to use that word again without it being a TOTAL JOKE?... that Michelle Obama said she was not proud to be an American. TOTAL DIstortion. She is fact said: "For the first time in my adult life I am REALLY proud to be an American BECAUSE " the electorate has not allowed itself to be swayed by divisive politics (I did not put that last in quotes because I may not be quoting her exactly. Maybe inartful but a might sight different than the way it is reported... And you know during Michelle Obama's adult life there has been a whale of a lot of distortion and divisiveness in politics... it has been full of personal gossip and wedge issues and swiftboating. She was commenting on how glad she was that it did not seem to be taking hold this time. That was weeks ago. And how wrong she was.

So why is it that rural Pennsylvanians don't like Obama or often Democrats either? Someone enlighten me please because I'm just an bitter elitist and proud of it. Only I'm bitter not because I've lost my job. I'm bitter because of how the well of public discourse and our politics and our standing in the world and our economy has been F...ed up. I'm bitter because my grandchildren's future is being ruined. posted 04/16/2008 at 00:27:53

Here We Go Again

No... shifting the anger is precisely what we should do, because she is absolutely no different than they are. Only her label is different. Her content, her approach, her rhetoric, her destructiveness is IDENTICAL. So why should we in the least prefer her to them? They've messed up. All of them. posted 04/14/2008 at 15:47:05
Go Jane ...GO! I am with you 1000% on this. I too have just not been able to get this outrage out of my mind. It is a page straight out of the Rove playbook. Take a candidate's strength and by distortion and lies turn it into its opposite and a weakness. Why in the world would we want the Hillary equivalent to Bush and Company for 8 more years? Do any of her supporters still not see that the only reason she is in this still is to deny it to Obama in 2008 so that she can run again in 2012?

Maybe this country deserves no better. Don't nations get the leaders they deserve? Or maybe, maybe people will begin to refuse to be manipulated in this way, talked down to, demeaned by this F...ing Harlot and shill for everything that is wrong with corporate America and with inside the Beltway. She even has Chaney's "So?" down pat when asked when she last went to church. What a phony! What a fraud! What a liar! Is it possible that I have come to detest her more than I do Bush, because she pretends to be on "our" side? posted 04/14/2008 at 15:42:52

Obama Exclusive (Audio): On V.P And Foreign Policy, Courting the Working Class, and Hard-Pressed Pennsylvanians

Well you might be doing Obama a favor with your distortions... his response in Indiana was a home run... got him a standing ovation in Indiana... that's a first in politics that I know of and I'm pushing 70. And those were ordinary folks... no wine sipping elitistes that I could make out.

Also you are doing voters a favor. Some of us are really getting tired of being manipulated by sound bites, lack of context, distortions... some of us have our curiosity piqued enough to get the whole story, in context and luckily the internet makes that possible and makes possible getting the whole story out far more widely than ever was possible before.

So thank you. Without your distortion, Clinton and McCain would not have picked up on it. Without their distortions, Obama could not have hit that home run.

"There is a providence that guides our ends, rough hew them though we may..." It just may be that something bigger than all you serial misspeakers may be at work here... So thank you. Thank you. Thank you for your distortions and lies since you thereby give truth an opportunity to shine forth. Because let me tell you, Ms. Fowler, many of us are angry, and bitter and fed up with being manipulated by the likes of you and the would be "leaders" who pounce on the garbage with which you pollute the public discourse. posted 04/12/2008 at 02:56:44

Cindy McCain Responds To Vicki Iseman Allegations: "I Knew The Truth"

Adoring? Looks like she could murder him... this story is just blah blah so nobody questions how he dumped his crippled wife for this broad... I love conservatives... they're all about "moral values" meaning only where one puts one's male member and not what one does to the people one is supposed to have a real moral obligation to. posted 04/11/2008 at 01:44:44

Email to a Rabbi: Wrong or Wright?

Moose49... You are absolutely right... there is an awful lot that is dysfunctional in the inner city Black communities... but you know what else? No one has done more on the South Side than Wright to have Blacks take responsibility for that dysfunctionality and begin to effect their own cure... the sound bites don't show it... the work of TUCC in the community and many of the other sermons do. posted 04/10/2008 at 23:38:12
GemStone... it is good to know that you have been sitting in on TUCC sermons for the last 20 years since you are so knowledgeable about what Wright has been saying for 20 years... I guess you equate 20 second loops with 20 years... I didn't think brain washing came so easily.

Just when did Obama throw his grandmother under a bus? You see some cartoon and that becomes reality for you?

Just what is it about you folks? posted 04/10/2008 at 23:34:03
I am White and a Jew and I couldn't agree with FogCity John and Howard Gutman more... it is shameful the way Obama is being hounded by the Wright matter, when he has disowned those words. The assumption that TUCC or Wright was no more than his more idiotic verbal excesses or even Left wing pro-Palestinian silliness (which I think is about as stupid as one can come and apparently from what he has said so does Obama) is eminently unfair to Wright and even more to Obama. There is such a "gotcha" quality to it all and such a blocking out of the goodness and decency and thoughtfulness and intelligence in the man, I mean Obama... that it makes me really sad for all the facile haters out there stewing in your equally facile outrage which has begun to sound so hollow and so false and either full of another agenda or simply willfully deluded... yet another Willie Horton moment. Yet another Swift Boat attack... yet once again, the hounds braying for blood. posted 04/10/2008 at 23:26:02
Bravo!

Why are all those of you who are so ready to smear Obama with Wright's words so unable to take Obama at his word or suspend your outrage just long enough to figure out where the anger of a Wright might be coming from.

Why are you so unable to see with Wright's eyes or walk in his shoe?

Why are you so unwilling to put in the scales his actions as well as his words? Wright's 3 years as a US Marine and another 3 years as a navy medic... the wonderful work his church has done in the community.

How many of you who are OUTRAGED! Outraged! can say as much about their own lives and actions? A little rachmones, or Christian Charity to temper your outrage, please.

And why are you so ready to smear Obama with the words of another, words he has disowned in every conceivable way and yet to give so many others a pass? There is a level of heat and insufficiency of light here that is most unpleasant and speaks very badly for those of you posting so much OUTRAGE. posted 04/10/2008 at 23:14:48

Why Younger Women Aren't Supporting Hillary

I am a superannuated feminist, almost 70, worked ever since I was 14 and had a wonderful career. Was it tough? You betcha. Did I cry about it? Not on your life. I earned the respect I got and I didn't ever diss other women with idiotic arrogant remarks like "I suppose I could have stayed home and baked coockies." HRC showed us exactly who she was with that and has never given me any reason but to dislike her and question her judgment ever since. posted 04/04/2008 at 17:39:04

When the Focus of the Campaign Becomes Campaigning

Isn't that what she said before NH when she teared up at the prospect of loosing it..." This is very personal..." You bet it is... but why do the rest of us have to be subjected to it and why are we willing to be? No she shouldn't drop out. It should be clear to her supporters, every single one of the self pitying, angry, sour, dour, frightened ones (and let me tell you after working in NW Indiana that is what they are) that she was beat fair and square. So stop the calls to have her pull out. Let her go on and on and on, until she has finally turned even her supporters OFF. posted 04/01/2008 at 17:23:56
No it's not just the media. It is all of us. Look at the number of posts on the soap opera aspects of this campaign on these pages and how few posts there are on more substantive issues. WE are the ones who just love this stuff. The media just feeds us what we lap up. Yum Yum posted 04/01/2008 at 17:20:15
NO she doesn't have a compelling message. The message is always about Hillary. And yet once again she is proving it in spades. Go girl! Go! All you do is shoot yourself in the foot. So let's all the rest of us sit back, watch and enjoy her utter egotistical vacuity... that's a fancy word for running on empty. posted 04/01/2008 at 17:18:35

Not Until the Fat Lady Sings

Excellent point both about the Clinton's being free agents . but weren't they always? Isn't that the great problem from Marc Rich to sale of Lincoln bedroom, to trashing Clinton's gals a trailer trash to goodness only knows what future access has been sold...As for sound bites being used against Obama... so be it... they may have trashed their reputations so badly by the time it comes to that that it may even actually help Obama to have been trashed by their likes. posted 04/01/2008 at 16:15:22
You could not be more right... Except some of us saw it long ago...

There is a new video clip on YouTube that does for the NAFTA story what the Bosnia sniper fire did... wonder if the major media will pick it up.

Also... the healing, if it is going to happen, can only happen if she is seen as having exhausted everything and destroyed herself while doing it.

Go girl. GO! You are helping Obama so much and helping us get past the Bush/Clinton?Bush years. posted 04/01/2008 at 16:11:44

Hooked on Hillary

Nota... you've just proved a point I've made for a long time. A lot of HRC's support is from women who over identify with her for a vast multiplicity of reasons that have more to do with their own psyche's than with her... too many feel: "well I'm not that likable either." "I'm not appreciated enough either." "My husband has cheated on me too and I stuck by him." "My brother's always got more attention than I did." It is all so sick and the reality gets completely lost... never mind just the mendacity (which was there for all to see always) but also how much she has been the strategist behind Billy's damage control over his floozies... after all she dreamed up castigating them all as "trailer trash" as she also indignantly proclaimed "I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies." Old hat? Yes... but don't we really want to get this soap opera behind us once and for all instead of having it in the White House for another 4 or 8 years? There are just so many problems facing this country that need resolution and another Clinton presidency assures us of the most narcissistic wallowing in the purest of garbage much of it not of Billy's making but of Hillary's. YUK. Yuk. and more Yuk. posted 04/01/2008 at 17:09:28

Pastor Of Clinton's Former Church: Don't Use Wright To Polarize

Isn't is a game of "if I can't have it, he won't either!"

Or: "I'll show my Goldwater Republican Daddy, who never did love me or think I was as good as my two brothers, that I can wreck the Democratic Party. Oh, yes I can!"

Or: She's the Manchurian Candidate... of the Republican Party. posted 03/27/2008 at 00:12:32
I'm White and I took the time to do the same. Amazing how most people lack any curiosity and are ready to be duped. Go to www.TUCC.org for a fuller picture. posted 03/26/2008 at 02:26:56
The question is whether she is Bush Lite or more of the same. She can't ever admit she's wrong either. And husband Bill said he could no more change her mind once it was made up than he could throw the White House desk out the window. And then there is her poor judgment. Oh dear. Oh dear. 4 or 8 more years. Banish the thought. posted 03/26/2008 at 02:15:06
It's worth it to her because she must think that would give her another shot in 2012, when she could come back and say: "I told you so." So I think there is method to her seeming madness. But as the Bosnia snafoo shows, there is something a bit unhinged about her mental processes. So she "misspoke." Look at her speech again. She is just nutty. posted 03/26/2008 at 02:11:48
I attended Trinity United Church of Christ this Easter Sunday. TUCC's motto is "Unashamedly Black. Unabashedly Christian." Surely it would be bizarre if they said they were "Ashamedly Black and Abashedly Christian. "

I have been to Black churches before. It is almost a ritual for anyone who ever has run for any kind of public office in Chicago. The rhetoric is simply different than what one hears in White churches but if you open yourself up to it, it can be marvelously compelling and even a thing of great artistry. I've even been to a Black synagogue on the South Side of Chicago and the style is the same in terms of the choir and the way in which the rabbi speaks although not the liturgy.

White folks should try to understand that the church has been a place of refuge for Black folk, a place they could feel like "family," where they could let their hair down and say things and say them in a manner that would not be acceptable before a White audience. I'm not sure about that, but it seems to me there is a bit of that.

Finally, his church is a highly respected one in Chicago with very effective and multiple ministries in a community which has great need both to take responsibility for its brokenness and to repair it. That was always the core of Pastor Wright's message.: to take responsibility for the brokenness and to repair it. posted 03/26/2008 at 02:08:36

Reid: "Things Are Being Done" To End Dem Primary Before Convention

Wrong you are. Obama never ran for anything in Chicago. The State legislature is not where the big action is. It is on the Cook County Board and on the Chicago Zoning Commission.

In fact the U.S. Senate is where the Chicago pols get rid of the Clean guys who don't play the corrupt game... or are you too young to remember Paul Douglas, Adlai Stevenson II and III? They don't want them getting fancy ideas and running for something local like mayor or governor (except that this Daley is even more popular than the old man.

In all events the Senate win was a surprise. There were 6 candidates in the primary. Tommy Hynes's son, the County Assessor was supposed to win, or at least that's who what is left of the City Machine was supporting. And Hunt the multi millionaire funding his own campaign tripped up because he beat his wife. The Latino who was Mayor Daley's chief of staff never got any traction (even in the Latino community which Obama carried), the two women, one white one black, no one even remembers their names.

No guys like Obama are considered somewhat of a joke here because they are both honest and intellectual so they get kicked downstairs to the US Senate.

Just goes to show what you know about Chicago politics. posted 03/26/2008 at 03:26:16
Come. Come... the trip to Bosnia video side by side with her fabrications was just priceless. When do you get to see a psycho who is seemingly so functional? My husband has been saying for weeks that there was something odd about her... "That false smile!" he kept commenting... And there we see it. Full blown. Delusional and then shrugging it off. "So I misspoke." Why it is too good to be true. Just think if we had that for 4 or 8 years. It would even make Bush II look good!

Why want it to end? The longer it goes on, the more likely she won't even be Senator from NY after her term is up.

What are you all so afraid of? Let any dirt on Obama she can dredge up come out now. Much better than having it out in the last 2 weeks of October.

Besides... silver linings... no one can say Obama is a Muslim any more. And you know what there are 57,000 United Churches of Christ. You can bet some of their Pastors are telling their congregations just how highly regarded Wright is in that association of churches. What a real dummy she is. posted 03/26/2008 at 03:13:01
