On My Switch From Clinton to Obama

I agree with the content, but note the manipulative use of the word 'right'. "He's the RIGHT candidate RIGHT now!" LOL. I wonder if McCain's folks are going to be saying stuff like, "Once you rule out Obama, and the best candidate LEFT!"

Vista Struggling As Business Customers Snub It

I think Americans are too cheap to spend more. If for one solid year, a Mac with OS X was %15 percent cheaper than a comparable PC with XP, switchers would move in droves. If you could build your own PC and install OS X on it, explosion.

But as much as I prefer OS X, I keep an eye on Linux. Why? Nobody wants to buy Vista and Office. They'd rather have a similarly slick 'open' system and office suite, which will have 'free' system upgrades for life.

That's amazing savings for businesses and consumers.

My wife needs an industrial CAD software that costs $8,000 to have one working station. Once an open source variant emerges, you don't think corporations would find a way to switch to similar Linux stations? And this type of situation, of specialty software with ridiculous gouging, is pandemic.

But Linux must first get it's visual act together. I've played with several distros, and sorry Linux geeks, but the fonts still look like crap and the overall feel is still semi-cheesy.

However, in tribute to the open source gang: the distros look a lot better than they did just two years ago, and I sense will blast past Vista in mere months. Once y'all manage a terminal free OS like OS X, it will be terribly exciting.

My best guess is that such a system will be available in two years, and three more will put Windows (and Mac) in serious peril. posted 05/01/2008 at 13:01:07
OS X is the best system there is. An XP PC is the least expensive alternative. When salespeople apologize for Vista, that should tell you something. Linux will end Windows in five years. posted 04/30/2008 at 21:14:06

New York Times Circulation Plummets

Umm... anyone factoring in website popularity? NYTime is like 98th, where the Wall Street Journal is in the 500s. Reducing paper should be celebrated, pinheads. posted 04/28/2008 at 16:06:28

The Very Serious Debate, Starring The Very Serious George & Charlie

Ask much as I hate the corporate news liars, I find myself playing Devil's Advocate concerning this one debate. Umm... Obama and Hillary have debated the issues to death, haven't they? Let's be honest. I've seen most of the debates, and even as a Democrat, found listening to all of the later debates trying for this reason.

America isn't trying to determine where these two stand on shit, at this point. They're trying to see who's the bigger liar. We've had 8 years of lying sonofabitch admin, and so if you're still wondering who's a bigger liar, this debate was for you.

Journalism? Not from network TV. Don't act so surprised.

Dean should end this. If Obama is in the lead, in all numbers, put Hillary and Bill in Barack's admin somewhere and END this already. posted 04/18/2008 at 15:22:28

Randi Rhodes Blames Air America's New Owners On Larry King: "This Is Really About Them Wanting To Change My Contract"

Randi was both the best thing about that station, and the worst. She could only preach to the converted, but man what a sermon. It's time MSNBC picked her up a resident pundant/commentator type.

True, she's like a liberal Ann Coulter, but the truth is on her side, bubba...
