Obama Lowers Expectation In West Virginia: Suggests 80-20 Margin

LOL, what foolishness to propagate. This is absurd as is most misdirection which arises from faulty logic.

WV is hardly a marker for national opinion and it's 5 electoral votes are unlikely to make or break the general election. Overall this kind of trivia is only good for disinformation by those seeking to spread fear in others who are unsure of their bearings. posted 05/13/2008 at 10:42:26

Superdelegates put Obama within mathematical reach

We need to concentrate on McCain and taking back the White House. The ankle biters in the Clinton campaign have shown themselves to be as horrific as the worst Right Wing operatives and should be ignored as much as possible.

The priority should be taking down McCain, who has had a free pass due to this divisive conduct. November should be the prize now as the nomination is pretty clear to anyone with party loyalty. posted 05/13/2008 at 09:16:05

The Bipartisanship Scam

Good piece Arianna. The first part deals with what I refer to as the Centrist Conspiracy, which is yet another example of manufactured controversy. This is similar in nature to the "debate" over evolution. It really doesn't exist except in the minds of those spreading disinformation to take opinion even farther to the Right.

Bipartisanship and centrist policy are not what are being called for by the vast majority of the country. We are in a period of redefinition of our entire political structure, hopefully one which will bring us more in tune with the rest of the civilized world. The United States has been the laughingstock for far too long of those remaining countries which are not simply aghast at our backward social leanings and belligerent military posturings. The US should move away from the policies formed since 1980 which enable corporatism running amuck and religious loonies dictating conventional wisdom as rapidly as possible to catch up with the rest of the world. posted 05/13/2008 at 10:32:20

Hillary's Gift to Women

Your comments, plus the ones by McFlipFlop below, pretty much sum up the situation as I see it. Who would have thought in 1992 that the Clintons, who appeared as the hope of the party, would ever turn out to be the betrayers of it? Republican policies like NAFTA, enabling Bush to invade Iraq to (hopefully) establish Hillary's credentials as a strong leader and selling out Gore and Kerry by lukewarm aid, is this really the hope we thought we saw in 1992?

It is absolutely shameful behavior and on top of this Hillary has set back feminism 50 years. The whining about misogamy, the tears before primaries and the requests to change the rules for her special needs all have done more disservice to women than a trainload of actual sexist males ever could. posted 05/13/2008 at 08:56:59

Speaking as a businessman, all the Clinton campaign's vendors should file contractor's liens now if possible in your state. That way you will be a payee of record when the campaign files bankruptcy. Also insisting on cash payment upfront would be a good idea.

Although HRC may infuse cash into the campaign for advertising, it would be naive to expect her to put in money for debts on services already rendered. This is no slur upon the Clintons as I would advise the same for anyone's campaign in the same position. posted 05/12/2008 at 11:42:41

This is not an isolated phenomenon, I've been pointing to this for months. George Barna, one of the most knowledgeable pollsters about the Christian community, has been writing about it also. I've been following The Barna Group's reports for almost 10 years to help me understand these groups as voters.

Born Again Voters No Longer Favor Republican Candidates
February 4, 2008

(Ventura, CA)One of the most reliable constituencies of the Republican Party in recent years has been born again Christians. A new national survey of likely voters conducted by The Barna Group, however, shows that the Republicans have lost the allegiance of many born again voters. The November election is truly up for grabs - and if the election were held today, most born again voters would select the Democratic Party nominee for president, whoever that might be.
