ABC Debate: High Ratings, Critics Give Broadcast Poor Reviews
Happy day for Hillary supporters! As a result of last night's wonderful debate, Obama is up 2 delegates, Hillary is down 1. Obama is up in the polls, which obviously means Hillary is down. The vast majority of people thought the debate was terrible (more than 99.99 %). The ABC pole showed Obama winning the debate by 4 to 1. Hillary's rampant negativity is starting to repulse. Most of the country now thinks she is what she is: a LIAR.

I'm so glad they spent a good 5 minutes debating Obama's flag pin - y'know, the one Hillary wasn't wearing either? I'm glad they asked several questions about Wright. A month of coverage is hardly enough. All America wants to know is how much the Rev. loves his country. Oh! And redefining the word bitter for the umpteenth time - wasn't that a great question? These are the things deep thinkers like yourself really want to know. And, even though we have hear about Bosnia already ad nauseum, and we already know it was a blatant lie, wasn't it just great to hear about that again? GREAT! And this complete non-story about Ayers. Wasn't that meaningful? If we know someone, we ARE them, right? It was the BEST dedicating 51 minutes of debate to these super important things. Sadly, they wasted almost the whole last 20 minutes talking about stupid issues like war. And the angry poor I am sure were very glad to get this capial gains thing out of the way. I am so happy they didn't waste any more time on issues, because that stuff is just stupid. Obviously, you are not an Obama supporter - you apparently didn't watch the debate, and you know not much about him. He is an acquaintance of Ayers, who is now a respected school teacher - they both participate on a particular board which does GOOD. The idea that what Ayers did when Obama was 8 years old has anything to do with Obama's point of view on any issue is absurd. Hillary is married to a guy who lied under oath. That says nothing about her opinions on issues. Secondly, he didn't tank. Althou the pole shows him winning by over double, the meter showed them about even. They asked him 6 questions about invented scandals, yet only asked Clinton about 1 of her lies (Bosnia) - even though there are so many, including having a campaign manager doing deals with Colombia. The questions were stilted. They interrupted him at least 5 times in the middle of an answer, and did not interrupt her. The debate was mostly a farce, with over 51 minutes being dedicated to anything but platform and policy. ABC is owned by someone who went out of their way to make Obama look bad - and he still held his own in grueling circumstances. They both had similar positive responses, but the most negative response of the night went to Hillary. All the intermittant applause went to Obama.

It appeared to me that she brought up Esther to appeal to the Jews (I'm Jewish) and to contrast McCain who thought Purim is Jewish Holloween. At the same time she mispronounced it (pewrim instead of poorim) and mentioned Rabbi friends, etc. I found it to be disingenuous. She it being about a strong woman, and missed the point entirely. I took it as a pre-planned tip to the Jews. She seemed to have a few of these "nods" preplanned. Obama, on the other hand, seemed mostly candid, except, of course, he knew before hand that he would be asked about Hillary's latest assinign accusations, and having made speeches the last few days about it was prepared.
Your idea, that Jesus is a bible story, is odd too, considering he was the topic of the entire new testament. He told parables. There are many stories of Jesus, and his works. The Esther story is not about being a queen, but about a man and his niece that refused to bow down to any human - only God, so I think you don't get Esther either. You also forget that many considered, Jesus to be "king".

Your idea, that Jesus is a bible story, is odd too, considering he was the topic of the entire new testament. He told parables. There are many stories of Jesus, and his works. The Esther story is not about being a queen, but about a man and his niece that refused to bow down to any human - only God, so I think you don't get Esther either. You also forget that many considered, Jesus to be "king".
You also seem to be completely unaware that the bulk of the things Jesus taught (the golden rule for example) is straight out of the old testament, and that he was, after all, a Rabbi, who was likely to also preach regarding the story of Esther. posted 04/14/2008 at 03:38:17
