Bio
Family-I am a youthful mother of 3 grown daughters, and 7 grandchildren. I have been fortunate to have been at the births of 6 of my grandchildren.
Personal-As a world traveler throughout my life in a broad mix of cultural and socioeconomic situations, especially in the rural, urban, and coastal areas of Mexico, I bring a unique and far-reaching perspective to everything I am involved with.
Writing, storytelling, art, photography, and political activism have always been a part of my life.
Education-Psychology, Biofeedback, Stress Management, Nutrition, Environmental, and Cultural studies. I speak English and Spanish.
Professional-Almost 40 years of experience working with children and teens of all ages throughout the world. I have been a teacher, mentor, community organizer, grantwriter, elderly caregiver, and nanny, among other not so noteworthy professions such as real estate.
I have worked for many years within the Latino and African American communities in the U.S. and am very familiar with the day to day struggles that affect both populations.
Currently, I am finally committed to my writing and in the process of self-publishing a parents' guide. This all-encompassing guide is focused on the preventive physical, mental, emotional health components that are missing in the lives of our infants, children, and teens. It is intended for global distribution because as American ways are adopted throughout the planet, so follow American problems for children and teens, such as depression, suicide, obesity, diabetes, etc.
I am looking for funding for worldwide promotion of this necessary guidebook. It is brief, easy-to-read, accessible, and filled with additional resources perfect for educators.
Political views-Because of my expansive life experience, I am very discriminating when it comes to supporting a candidate. Global perspectives are important. This is why I support Barack Obama. He has the healthy global and big picture perspective we need in a President.
