Bio
I was born in Haskell, TX because my hometown of Throckmorton (pop.900) did not offer services. I lived with my mother (Lockheed engineer) and step-father (International Association of Machinists organizer) in Fort Worth and Granbury in different periods throughout my life. My high school years were spent with my father (mechanic) in my small hometown that survives on agriculture, oil, cattle, and religion.
After an unsuccessful semester of college, I joined the Air Force in August of 1997 and received my first orders to F.E. Warren AFB, WY. My duties included maintaining the nuclear arsenal aboard the Minuteman III ICBM. The next four years were spent at Sheppard AFB, TX as a nuclear weapons instructor and curriculum designer where I logged over 4,000 teaching hours and assisted in designing the current weapons course. I was fortunate to experience our nuclear deterrence stockpile from many different angles working in conjunction with Sandia National Labs, Department of Energy, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and Russian START II Treaty representatives. I left the active duty in April of 2004 but had to serve another 3 years in the Reserves. As an education and training manager I counseled members on their education, managed existing training programs, taught instructional design courses, and developed educational materials and programs.
I have sold specialized oil, assisted a metal sculptor, started a well-site management company in the Barnett Shale natural gas fields of North Texas (3 months and a cloud of dust), contracted roofing, and served as an insurance adjuster. I have adjusted claims for several insurance companies in Florida's "Treasure Coast", Miami, and New Orleans.
I received my undergraduate from Wayland Baptist University in 2004, studied aeronautical science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and constantly strive to find knowledge and bastions of hope in this crazy place.
