GOP Southerners Fear Obama Wave

Talk to John Ridley about fear mongering. I'm working my ass off, trying to convince former GOP voters to go with Obama, then a guy like Ridley keeps pounding the table about how inherently racist white people are. That doesn't help anyone, except making publicity for John Ridley, the Ann Coulter of democrats. posted 05/17/2008 at 07:33:34
I watch Kudlow on CNBC partly to get the GOP sick spin and now the enemy. That crew over there is terrified of Obama, because he will interfere with their little backroom deals. They love Hillary because they see her as much more like McCain if McCain couldn't win. That's not Obama supporters saying that, that's coming from the enemies of freedom. They want McCain first, Clinton, but never Obama.

So the clear answer is that if anyone doesn't like what Bush has done, vote for Obama. posted 05/17/2008 at 00:08:31
GOP southerners are not really southern or conservative in character. They are sellouts to corporate oligarchy and greed. They are Kudlow/Bush/Limbaugh republicans. Anything for a price, even if it's to their own demise in the long run. posted 05/16/2008 at 22:41:30

Bush fails to win Saudi help on gas prices

Does anyone believe Bush and his family/friends want oil prices to go down? Oil prices were $23 a barrel when he first got elected. What the hell makes anyone think he or Cheney really want lower oil prices? Those people are his father's lifelong business partners for crying out loud.

Bush fights anything that will get the US off of oil. The first step would be to cut out all of the unnecessary commuting that goes on. I know people like working an hour from where they live, but it's just not practical anymore. posted 05/16/2008 at 20:47:29

Oil Billionaire T. Boone Pickens Orders 667 Wind Turbines

One distribution line to supply each of what is required for modern life, food, water, clothing, fuel, tools...and a very small percentage is going to own those pipelines. People used to think that was a bad thing. Citizens used to think it was worth dying to prevent that. Now, they just stay huddled behind their computers. posted 05/16/2008 at 07:32:23
Excellent point. Pickens thinks he so advanced in his thinking. 400,000 acres of windmills and he's just starting. Doesn't he see a problem with efficiency of land use? How do we dispose of those windmills when there life is over, just bury them?

I don't even think the design he's using in the most advanced. Pickens needs to stop obsessing on making billions of dollars for himself and work on what is best for the country. Those goofy old bastards who love to build monuments to themselves are killing the US. Eco-Tech shows some real solutions. We need organic batteries and fuel from trash. They have examples of wind turbines that go on large buildings to supply that buildings and uses the wind generated in the cities.

Instead, Pickens wants to fill the countryside with windmills.

The energy grid needs to be local, and it needs to be as close to 100% recyclable as possible. Guys like Pickens want one pipe for water, one pipe for oil and each fuel, and one pipe for clean air...and he wants to own those pipes. To hell with that kind of 'capitalism". posted 05/16/2008 at 07:27:27

Clinton goes from inevitable nominee to on the ropes

I know it pisses some younger folks off, but I'm going to try and provide some words of wisdom that experience teaches us. Having ambition is great, but all of this "believe it and it will happen" stuff is pure BS. Thinking positively is great, but there has to be some kindness in there. Clinton thinks if she keeps calling herself the president, it will become true. When it comes down to it, she's a mediocre Senator and maybe a poor campaigner and maybe even a terrible bitch. Her husband used to have some skill at it, but even he wasn't much of a real democrat.

So, Obama comes on the scene to deliver us from the establishment. He didn't just believe, he planned and saw his opening. I have to be honest that I thought it was too soon for him too. But, he saw it. I think this guy had to be pretty sharp to put this together like he did. But, I think his biggest advantage is that he isn't an asshole and he comes across as really caring. That helps. The old adage about treating others as you expect to be treated has always gone a long ways, and it still does. Visualizing victory doesn't mean a thing if you treat others badly and think only of yourself. posted 05/11/2008 at 15:37:28

That's why I stopped voting GOP, because they keep playing those same games, threatening victory of the other side if the voters didn't fall into line. If we're lucky, this whole struggle will result in 4 major parties instead of 2. The only reason that game works is because voters have no place else to go. I'd like to see McCain and Clinton get soe real competition instead of just threatening voters with the fear of the living with the other side. We're all Americans fr crying out loud. On The Trail, Obama Airbrushes Out Clinton's Name

Good for Obama. that's what I'd do. If she doesn't understand when she's destroying the process, or doesn't care, just keep trying to move forward. I hope Obama's campaign doesn't give Clinton a dime. Why can't Clinton raise money if she's so bloody popular? If Clinton is such a strong candidate, how come she's losing against a rookie Senator like Obama? How come she never voiced one objection to the process when she thought SHE was the one dominating?

It's because much of her "support" is from Limbaugh wackos who know she's the weaker candidate. What else explains her winning primaries that republicans get to vote in, but not being able to raise money? I blame 90% of this mess on the democratic primary process. It should be criminal to vote for a candidate in a primary just because they are weakest against the candidate you really want to win. It's crazy to allow that.

It should be set up that a vote in a primary extends to the general election if that candidate wins the primary. It should also be set up that "superdelegates" are illegal. What the hell kind of system is it that pits connected politicians against the public? I hope this debacle encourages democrats to rethink their process, and their party leaders. Another prohibition should be when the primaries are held. State general assemblies of one party shouldn't be able to adversely affect when the other party's primary is held, like this year in Florida. posted 05/11/2008 at 10:39:49

Liveblogging the North Carolina and Indiana Primaries

I don't want Clinton to quit on her own. I want to see her dragged from the stage in a straight jacket, kicking and screaming and spitting about how the world is hers. posted 05/06/2008 at 23:10:46

Latest Indiana And North Carolina Polling Averages

I think they've already tried to go quietly to her and she's told them to get screwed. She's putting a lot of pressure on them to wait until t least June3 and every primary is over. Then she'll raise hell to take it to August.

I also think the democrats deserve a lot of credit for actually having a contest. But, it's like they can't stop themselves. It's time to pick either Clinton or Obama, I'd say within the next two weeks. What's going to change between now and June 3?

Nobody wants to purge this nation of Bush more than me, but I honestly see no way Hillary Clinton has any business in the White House. She's maybe even more "my way or the highway" than Bush. We just don't need that. I was wathing her on CSPAN and I think she's out of her mind, maybe even stupid. posted 05/04/2008 at 22:21:26

Clinton Camp Says It Will Use The Nuclear Option

Howard Dean has got to be the most incompetent party chairman ever. He really doesn't belong in the White House. His only answer to how this all could go so wrong was that "they" really didn't think the race would be that competitive. That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. Are those people in DC so drunk on power that they've lost all of their senses? If they give Obama the shaft on this, I hope Obama just doesn't roll over. One thing I've got to say about this guy is that he has run one of the best political campaigns I've ever seen. posted 05/04/2008 at 19:42:33

Dems Win Second Seat In Solidly GOP District

It's that same "progressive" position that lost you the House in 1994 and set up GW Bush as our king. That plan worked so well, you want to try it again? You guys can't keep taxing the hell outof working people and giving it away for votes, while disarming the public of means for self-defense, and expect people not to get pissed. posted 05/04/2008 at 08:25:13
You and I are on totally opposite end of this issue, but we have a common enemy in the GOP. So, where so we go from here? posted 05/04/2008 at 08:06:38

Eight Belles, Kentucky Derby Horse, Dies On Track

Yeah, probably had her ankles so numb up she couldn't tell she was breaking them apart. You just know, "she won't be able to race" wasn't coming out of anyone. They would run that race any way they could. Like any corporation, they got a decent showing and a decent insurance payoff/ A good profit day for the corporate mindset. They got all they could out of her and threw her away. That's business in America, 2008. Squeeze it dry and to hell with consequences, like the contractors in Iraq they had hearings about on Monday. posted 05/04/2008 at 08:37:10

Sunday Roundup

Let's not forget that Fox News and MSNBC have a revolving door policy. Neil Cavuto comes to mind. Anyone seen Rita Cosby lately? posted 05/04/2008 at 09:03:25

Isn't this what you guys call "progressive"? posted 05/04/2008 at 10:56:37
Yep. Maybe the people who vote for someone just because they are in the movies will remember Arnold's crap before they follow the herd after the next tax and spender, but I doubt it. posted 05/04/2008 at 10:53:19

DNC To John McCain: "Stop Whining"

I just saw of Dorgan's hearing on Iraq fraud. Contractor fraud is out of control over there. One guy says troops were denied ice so the contractor could steal it and barter at markets for stuff. posted 05/03/2008 at 10:54:16
This issue about definitions is revealing a much deeper issue, the liars and corrupt jerks currently in US politics. I's time to clean house, starting with McCain. posted 05/03/2008 at 08:46:34
Someone needs to ask McCain about the comparison of Iraq to the US . He Bush and the other focus group morons have used the same 100 years, hundreds of years comparison in the evolution of the US and how it takes time. The opium trade in Afghanistan, and all of those issues need to be answered.

People need to remind McCain of history, how the British Empire behaved and the US was supposed to be different. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opium_Wars posted 05/03/2008 at 08:26:46

Fox News: The "Ins And Outs" Of Shaving Your Pubes

That's seems to be an obsession with certain people, but I contact a whole lot of people and I can't thnk of one in hundreds who has what you described. Nose hair is another thing, but who the hell cares. I'd settle for some honesty and at lesat a hint of morality. I do see a lot of dishonest and cruel people, eager to destroy someone to distract from their own failure. Americans need more time looking at themselves, for a change and not worrying about being critics of how their neighbor lives. In other words, mind their own damn business. posted 05/04/2008 at 07:49:02

Bush: The Economy Is "Going To Come On"... 70 Percent Of Americans Say Things Are Going Badly

The GOP has a canned response for everything. Data is either "rear-view" or not as bad as it could be. I noticed recently that they're starting to admit the economy is in recession, but trying to say it's almost over and that we need to look forward. So, they're going from saying the economy is great to saying the worst is over. posted 05/02/2008 at 19:58:05

John Gibson Mocks Rachel Maddow's Sexuality: "Ooh, Lesbians! Yummy!"

Gibson's a typical homophobe with deep-seated sexual abnormalities. It's almost always the guy doing the attack who's got the problem. I have to admit that gays have a valid issue here. They get treated like dirt and have to work in extremely hostile work environments in a lot of cases. It's incredible that this is still allowed. Why can't the ACLU file a suit?

I really enjoy Maddow. She's very talented. I had to stop watching her, because MSNBC just got too sickening with Carlson, Scarborough and that swinging door with Fox News. CNBC is on it's way out with me also.

I agree that Gibson is just a bitter man looking for ways to bring himself up by teraing others down. posted 05/03/2008 at 08:58:00

Democratic Party's Patience For Clinton Wears Thin

First, I one of the independent voters the MSM is always talking about. No way I would vote for Clinton, especially after the low-brow campaign she's been running.

One of the mistakes dems make is not understanding current realities. The GOP are chomping at the bit to have Clinton against McCain. They know that even if they lose, they'll still have someone who can be bought and a war with Iran. If any of you think anyone with a conscience would ever vote for that brutal witch, you're living in a dreamworld. posted 05/02/2008 at 13:37:05
I think you mean republicans voting in democratic primaries in record numbers. It's no secret that the GOP sees Clinton as the much weaker candidate.

Dean and company need to consider how to protect the nomination process in the future. It's ridiculous to let GOP vote for Clinton, then vote McCain in November. It's also crazy for Clinton to bitch about the importance of the popular vote, then rely on superdelegates for her victory. Do they have any idea how messed up and corrupt this makes the democratic party look?

It should be easy, only those voting for the democratic candidate in November vote in the democratic primaries, and the primary rules are followed. Clinton was just fine with excluding Michigan and Florida until it became clear she was getting her butt kicked. posted 05/02/2008 at 13:01:18

Paul Kirk, Ex-DNC Chair And Superdelegate, To Endorse Obama

I want to see this woman crushed. Democrats had better get a grip on the Clintons before it's too late. She will try to crush the party if she's not the nominee. She's another Liebermann. I wouldn't be surprised if she did a Perot or Nader and ran as a third to split the democratic vote enough to let McCain win. posted 05/02/2008 at 08:46:53

Obama Rolls On

I'm reading Thomas Paine's "Common Sense" and got a lot of enrichment from his statements about monarchy and heredity and the folly of choosing a leader because of ancestry, or who they married. posted 05/02/2008 at 08:28:43
