Jack Flynn,(Jol), grew up in the fifties in an Irish American neighborhood north of Fenway Park, majored in English at San Francisco State College, spent the sixties hitchhiking and driving the highways and by-ways of America. He lived in the Haight Ashbury while it was all happening. He took LSD and hung out in the barrooms and coffee houses of North Beach, hitched across the country several times and drove it many times. He drove taxis trucks and busses and worked in restaurants and factories.
He was a stage actor for over twenty years, working at the Gloucester Stage Company, the North Shore Music Theater, and The Boston University Playwrights Theater, as well as touring nationally with Boston's Chamber Repertory Theater.
He presently resides in New Hampshire with his wife, plays softball and writes.
Jack is the author of one novel, "Buddy Reardon in Pursuit of the Lone Ranger."
His latest book, "We Came to Fight a War/The Story of a Radio Gunner and his Pilot," as remembered by Al Kotler and will be published by Merriam Press in February 2009. For further info on the book, check out Jack's blog.
