What Pelosi Doesn't Get About Persuasion

Interesting that the states shown on most recent polls as being weak but necessary states for Obama e.g. Ohio, Pennsylvania are the ones that Sen Clinton would help him to win. But would Congresswoman Pelosi still be head Dem woman with Hillary as VP? posted 07/22/2008 at 16:19:50

Blue America Thanks Some Of The Patriots Who Stood Up For The Constitution

Thank you, Mr. Klein, for shining the light on the politicians who voted correctly. And thanks again for introducing us to a true hero, Doug Tudor, the kind of representative needed for Florida's 12th district. For additional information, see www.teamtudor.org. posted 07/10/2008 at 13:18:28

Rep. Putnam,

We so want you to be right for once. That's why there is one veteran who won't be with McCain and you know who he is - he's your challenger, Doug Tudor. (Readers, check out www.teamtudor.org). You see, unlike you, Rep. Putnam, Doug Tudor's military service, combined with his progressive values, form a combination of very attractive attributions for any candidate. While 20% of your district lives in poverty, you voted against S-Chip, the healthcare program for children. While soaring gas prices hurt many of the working people in your district, you continue to take money from Exxon Mobil. Your continued alliance with the most unpopular President of our time (voting with W 98.7% of the time) shows how dsconnected you are to the people you are paid to represent.
So again, I hope you're right - I hope the down ticket races are won by Democrats - I just think you should have listed yourself as one of them.

Uprising In Florida: Meet Doug Tudor

It's time for change in Central Florida! The incumbent, Mr. Putnam, aka Opie, has no idea how to represent this district, which averages around 20% living below the poverty level. As a 33-year-old mega-millionaire, he has never wondered what it's like to worry about paying the electric bill or what a mortgage looks like. If gas goes to $10/gallon, is it really going to affect Rep Putnam? I don't think so.

Doug Tudor is a working man. He understands what us regular folks go through day to day. And he'll vote right on the issues. Please support this candidacy - check Doug out on www.teamtudor.org.

GOP Senate Leader On Losing His Seat: "What Do You Mean?"

Kentucky recently fired its first Republican governor in decades. It may not be a liberal Democratic state, but it is not normally all Republicans either. Lunsford will probably win. Are you high? Blue collar voters, aka union members, have historically been one of the most dependable Democratic factions. Scores of pissed off military members are ripe for Democrats to pick up. (see www.teamtudor.org and many other vets running as Dems - they don't suddenly become that when they retire). And the South, it is a-changin' - check out recent special elections in LA and MS. posted 06/10/2008 at 15:49:40

Female Clinton Supporters Fear Campaign Has Unleashed Sexist Backlash

New Petition Backs Up Pelosi On Superdelegates

If the superdelegates are just supposed to echo the votes, what are they for? Obviously they were created to vote for what they think is in the best interest of the party, not that their voting the same as the electorate and doing what is best for the party is mutually exclusive. Isn't it their job in a close race to make the decision for the party? This is not an appeal for Sen Clinton; I'm just trying to understand why the Democratic Party set up its system this way. And I can't come up with any other conclusion other than their votes are supposed to count for more than the average voter's, and if need be in their minds, to reverse the will of the pledged delegates. posted 03/28/2008 at 10:04:05

Lewinsky Questioner: I Was Surprised By Chelsea's Response

As far as you know, which I can't believe by your writing is that far. posted 03/27/2008 at 11:00:57
Women he abused? Get real, what you meant to say was the opportunistic sluts that got more attention, fame and money than they ever dreamed possible. You have an unbelievable outlook on life and it appears, on sexuality. Sen Clinton decided to forgive her husband for his transgressions, probably very much like her wedding vows before God said she would. She acted like a mature woman who knows there is a lot more to marriage than just sex. posted 03/26/2008 at 14:16:52
Chelsea rocked with the response to that stupid question. The Republicans went on a five year witch hunt that started with a nothing land deal in Arkansas and finally ended with impeachment over a blow job. The infamous Kenneth Starr, representing Newt Gingrich and his ilk, found some spotlight and just would not let it go. Now it's the Obama crowd that loves to act like Republicans against Sen Clinton, even though she handled herself as a courageous, respectable spouse who endured more public humiliation than any of us can probably imagine. But, Pres Clinton, the only Democratic President in my adulthood, receovered as always and continued to provide the best Presidency of my adulthood. And he left office with a 66% approval rating, even after all the crap the Republicans threw at him. Chelsea Clinton answered this question the same way it should have always been answered, whether by her now or Pres Clinton back then "None of your business." Smart girl. posted 03/26/2008 at 14:10:52

Sen Clinton honestly answered a question. What hurts the Obama campaign is that she answered it the way most Americans would answer it. And that makes her despicable? Honesty is now despicable? You know, Sen Clinton get pummeled when she is less than honest (Bosnia trip) or when she is honest. And the Obama campaign is some new kind of politics? Sen Obama, and surrogates, get real or you're going to lose. Your transparency (?) mixed with your hypocrisy is going to ruin your good message. posted 03/26/2008 at 10:10:28

Way to go, Girl! It's the exact same response that should have always been given from the first time it was asked by Kenneth Starr, Newt Gingrich, the shamless media, et al. Your father's job performance was excellent and who he had personal relationships with was nobody else's business except his wife's. And she got over it, so everyone else should, too. posted 03/26/2008 at 14:39:17

Clinton: Wright "Would Not Have Been My Pastor"

Uh, I may not like her tactics sometimes, but she only said what probably 70% of Americans would say. I, for one, have gotten up in the middle of a sermon and left because I didn't care for what was being passed off as "preaching." As much as Obama supporters are scared of this type of talk about Obama's pastor, I hope it gets used and used more now so that once the GE comes along, it will be old news and ignored by then. But, please, get real - stop acting like you're so offended by this and accept that it is offensive to the majority of Americans. By dealing with reality, Obama will have a better chance at winning. posted 03/25/2008 at 16:29:16

Well, good for Gary Hart as he tries to dull the attacks that will surely come from McCain and his surrogates, namely "More liberal than Ted Kennedy, more liberal than Barbara Boxer, more liberal than Barney Frank..." (wonder if everyone will be as pissed off when it's called gay-baiting?)
What we have learned from the more recent Republican strategies is to frame the issue first - so let's call it past vs. future instead of liberal vs. conservative. Hope this works. posted 03/25/2008 at 14:47:30

Lord knows, if we go by Rev Wright, it doesn't appear that AA pastors are helping AAs heal. Funny statement Whoopi made about 6 black guys on the corner - it depends on much more than their skin color. It depends on how they're dressed, how they act, etc. Because white kids can be just as scary as black kids - the only difference is that the white kids don't call me racist if I cross the street to avoid them. The AA kids just assume it. posted 03/26/2008 at 16:34:15

Clinton Undecided on April 19 Debate

Clinton Camp Denounces Obama Iowa Supporter for Lewinsky Comments

"....which the Obama campaign took to be an impugning of Obama's patriotism."

So the truth is that Pres Clinton made some statements and then the Obama Campaign decided to hear the comments that way. So who spun first? Making up an issue to then be able to act like you resolved it and play the victim - that's pretty tired. The Obama surrogate who made this VERY LONG JUMP and ABC News who didn't question that jump make both organizations look lame. This is just Obama people being exactly what their candidate says he's not, just another normal politician. The only difference is the hypocrisy.

Will Hillary Ever Be One Of The Cool Kids?

Strong women threaten many men, but strong women especially threaten weak women. And the worst sexists are those women who can't stand to see a sister excel. They'll chew her up and spit her out in a heartbeat. I believe you have to see people in the context of their life story. Hillary Clinton came of age when a woman going to law school was still quite rare. Young women don't get that - they take for granted that every opportunity that they enjoy was always available. Many older women (like my mother at age 84) would still say that Sen Clinton should be at home where she belongs, not trying to take men's jobs.

As far as fighting for what you want, more power to her. Nobody hands you everything for free. It's not all fair and everybody doesn't get a trophy. You have to fight for it.

I refuse to risk my children's futures on hope. posted 03/24/2008 at 14:13:34

This is like whining about the outcome of a regional final in sports........just wait until you get to the state competition. This is good for Obama, it will make him more ready to go against the real enemy, the Republicans. Besides if it was the other way around, Obama would be doing every thing he could do to win. Is Hillary Positioning for 2012?

I don't think that at all about blacks. I understand them wanting a black President and it may soon happen. But be honest. - blacks have voted for Obama in the 80-90% range in many states now. Obama would not be winning right now without that black vote. And black voters have always liked the Clintons until a serious black challenger came along. posted 03/24/2008 at 15:03:37

James Carville on Gov. Richardson's Endorsement of Barack Obama

If we went with what we're told by the Obama supporters so often, that supers should vote the way their state voted, shouldn't Richardson have supported Hillary? His electorate did. My point in making this remark is that the bullshit claim that Obama is some kind of "new" politician or that his supporters are "tired" of the same old politics is disngenious. When push comes to shove, they're all the same, Folks; you have to win before you get to govern - this is why campaigns often don't match what we see once the election is over. posted 03/24/2008 at 09:58:14

Another Bill Clinton Moment On The Campaign Trail

This whole episode was brought on by Obama paranoia. Damn, you just can't speak any more without the Obama campaign jumping on and making an issue where none was intended. I'm becoming more convinced America won't vote for Obama because no one can say anything, and It doesn't even have to be negative, without these people whining that they have somehow been slighted. America doesn't vote for crybabies. Real sentiment, sure, but contrived crap like this? Nope. posted 03/24/2008 at 16:57:53

Can Clinton Win The Popular Vote?

Just telling you, that's not how our party has historically acted. The question is not about Sen Obama or Sen Clinton, it's about the party and its members; the candidates work for us. I understand where the Obama supporters are coming from (and I will vote for whichever candidate wins the nomination), and i understand why they believe that Sen Clinton is less than sincere. But this principle is larger than this race. It is not what we stand for and it will not bode well for the future of the party. posted 03/21/2008 at 13:27:32
The Obama crowd that wants to punish Michigan and Florida Democratic party members sound actually quite Republican with their "Screw You" attitude. Hardly the nurturers that the Democratic Party has always prided itself on being. We care about people, their lives, we forgive people who disappoint, that's always been the most crucial difference between the parties, we Dems caring about others while the Republican authoritatians punish people. Funny how people can forget their fundamental beliefs when they actually have to act rather than just talk. posted 03/21/2008 at 12:48:58
