The comments are reprehensible on many different levels ... yes, it is unprecedented and disgusting ... but made even more so because of the Bush's family (his grandfather Prescott Bush) support of the Nazi party financially in Germany and were only ended when the Bush family's German assets were seized under the trading with the enemy act ... a lawsuit was brought by on by former slave laborers in Auschwitz against the Bush's ... now I would not blame Bush for his grandfather but his mother stopped him from dating a girlfriend (and he complied) because she was Jewish ...

It really does not matter --- her victory means nothing at all. It cannot be spun, it cannot change the math that exists. What does have to change? West Virginia! First of all it is not the Deliverance state (the Chattooga River is in South Carolina) as one author wrote. Secondly, the people are poor --- when I lived in North Carolina (I moved there 20 years ago and left 14 years ago) there was a veritable flood of people moving down from W. Va. since there were no jobs etc ... My next door neighbor was one of those people, he could not read, could not really construct a sentence and clung to anachronistic beliefs ... it is not that he was not a nice man. When we used to go up to West Virginia rafting we saw towns that we almost ghost towns, kind people who were destitute, older, and despite the state's beauty there was a sad atmosphere that permeated the landscape.

Obama is not trying to repress anything ... the state legislature in Florida voted to move up the primary knowing the consequences from the DNC ... Indeed, all Democrats in the legislature with the exception of 2 voted to move up the primary ... It had nothing at all to do with Obama ... it had to do with going against party rules (and actually if Florida which is in a huge budget shortfall would have gone along with the original date the state could have made a great deal of money).
It is silly to think most Floridians voted since there was an Amendment ... entitled simply Amendment one having to do with property taxes and the suspension of public services (eg schools, police, firefighters et al) ...

There could have been a revote if a method was found that could have been transparent and fair and none was found (neither was the money) ... My 81 year old mother in law literally fought her way through law school and longed to see a woman in the white house and was originally a Clinton supporter ... Her grandchildren (2 are not particularly political) begged her to look at Obama ... but she told them she longed to see a woman in the white house before she died. If you are speaking of the strip that was supposed to go near the Pocosin Lakes Wildlife Refugee it was the residents as well who were opposed to it because they farm there .. they farm soybeans and corn and it was a broad based coalition who opposed building the strip. Part of the navy's plan included poisoning birds to drive the birds from the area (because flocks of 20 lb birds would have wrecked havoc on the area) ...

I will not vote for Senator Clinton for a variety of reasons ... first of all I am not a centrist and the DLC has hijacked the party for far too long, I defended the Clintons for a long time but their actions remain ethically suspect not just over Obama but with so many of the white house deals (renting the Lincoln bedroom etc), his affairs (I would never send my 21 year old to intern in a Clinton white house), her lies including NAFTA, her union busting history, her padded resume, and her complete and utter lack of judgment. I could add things like Rwanda, AFDC, three strikes your out, the expansion of the prison industrial complex, the election of the Republicans in 94 and the fiasco which brought about Bush in 2000 all of which the Clinton's actions helped precipitate. I could go on for days and days

It is mathematically and statistically impossible for Hillary Clinton to win the election, this has been known for a very long time. The future of the Democratic party resides in the hands of Obama. It is ridiculous for anybody to think otherwise. By the future I mean that young people --- and they ought no be disenfranchised by dirty and divisive manuevrings by the ex-president and the senator. The Clintons have damaged their already historically tarnished reputation. Their games are making it harder for Obama to win the presidency ... their lack of concern about their own party coupled with their automaton-like need for self-aggrandizement and thirst for power and desire to ascend to a return to the White house in a dynastic anti-democratic power grab makes me wonder why? I am tired of the Kool-Aid comments, and tired of people citing Rev. Wright clips without contextualizing or listening to full sermons. He is respected in the theological community and the photo of him in the White House (released today) was given not at a fundraiser like Hsu and god knows who else but at a prayer breakfast given by President Clinton during the scandal's of 1998 ... BTW did you all see the stirring endorsement Bill Richardson gave today --- ? Probably not ...
