Obama Vice President Picks: Who Are The Frontrunners?

Obama is beholding to the people. His words are congruent with his actions.... repeatedly. Everything he says and everything he does shows he's all about what's best for this country. Therefore I have no doubt it'll be someone we can count on and trust. I'm not sure who, but I'm certain that's not Clinton. posted 05/09/2008 at 18:14:05

The Question of Hillary Clinton's Guilt-By-Association Tactics

I wanted to vote for Hillary. I wanted a woman to be win. But she made it impossible because she's channeling Karl Rove. And you democrats that still want to vote for her.... who act like it's all okay because she's on our side.... I'll never hear the theme song from the Twilight Zone again without thinking of you. posted 05/04/2008 at 14:37:12

An Army of Women

I have a deeply embedded real fear of any politician who uses rovian tactics and is as dishonest as Clinton. You're thrilled. I'm a woman too, and I'm embarrassed. Whoopdeedoo, we can be as bad as Rove. Yes, she's achieved a new mark alright, but it's only on the b.s. dipstick. I hate finding out how many people vote against AND 'for' candidates because of their race, gender or age. I mean, come on, sure, when things are going fine and every day is another slow news day, sure, go for the record. But here? Right NOW? 2008? When so many crucial elements of our government are screwing up our lives in so many ways?

Feminists, Racists, Age-ists... all those who vote 'for OR against' any candidate based on prejudice rather than the content of their character, the congruency between their words and actions, not to mention a little thing like what's best for our country.... needs to stay home when it's time to vote. Never forget, ignorance and eating up the kind of b.s. she and the republicans are shoveling, got us the last eight years.

Shameful Days: Why Won't The Media Pursue the Pentagon Propaganda Scandal?

It's a topsy-turvy world we live in when there's actually several politicians we trust more than 92% of the news media. I remember a time when the words "Journalistic integrity" weren't just a paradox. What happened? posted 05/01/2008 at 20:39:25

Was Barack Obama's Response To Rev. Wright Persuasive?

FINALLY, WE HAVE A FAIR FIGHT....

In one corner we have Obama and most of the people and I'd have to give him Keith Olberman too,

In the other corner we have McCain, Senator Clinton, President Clinton, The fox not real news, fox-lite, formerly known as: ABC, all the lobbyists, the flood of republicans on all the talking head shows..... and Reverend Wright.

Yep, looks fair to me.

The race must be handicapped because one on one, Obama is the cleanest, with the most congruency between words and actions, and he is most beholding to the people of America, whereas the other candidates are both most beholding to lobbyists.....

Seems to me everyone but Obama underestimates the intelligence of the American voter. A word to the wise, when the country is in as deep a mess - in as many ways - as it is right now, more than anything we want to know who we can trust. If Clinton could convince me I could trust her more, I'd switch my vote in a heartbeat. Same for McCain. The media screwed the pooch on that one though. They've put us in a position where we trust Obama more than we trust the others and 92% of the media besides.... did any of us ever expect to distrust so many of our journalists? I sure didn't.

Obama's presuasion isn't entirely his doing.
The crowd ganging up on him over b.s. super-glue my vote to Obama. posted 04/30/2008 at 13:15:41

Last Night Clinton Won the Pennsylvania Primary, but Lost the War for the Nomination

Maybe math isn't your best subject chinaskee. All the broughah over winning a battle when anyone who can count can see she has already lost the war is just media hype to keep their ratings up. It's the kind of thing that keeps their sponsors happy. It's great to get people on both sides to stay excited. And I'm glad it gives the other states an opportunity to vote.... and Obama is still the big winner. I'm not stamping my feet or screaming about it. I'm just breathing a sigh of relief. But what a shame to discover that 55% of the people in Pennsylvania were us dumb as Hillary thought they were.

Do you know there's not one page on the internet teaching people how to choose the best president for the job? There should be. And on that page one of the things it should say is "If you wouldn't hire the biggest liar to be the president of your company or the president of your school board, you damn sure shouldn't vote for the biggest liar when our country is in dire straits.

Bet ya never thought of that did ya, China. Anyone who doesn't have enough integrity to be the president of the local Chamber of Commerce.... is certainly someone you don't want to have the most powerful position in the world. posted 04/23/2008 at 12:45:00
You're right, she won the battle and lost the war... but I'm concerned that the Obama campaign may feel they must fight dirty to be seen as strong enough against McCain.

I said at the beginning Pennsylvania would be a test to see how many voters there were worthy of the respect Obama has in their intelligence, and how many were worthy of the respect Clinton has in their ignorance.

That means someone must educate all voters on how to hire the best president for the job. For example, any personnel director would tell you only an idiot would hire the applicant who lies the most. Who can we trust? That's why I'll never watch Charlie or George again. They were at a pivotal moment in history, the most important moment of their careers. Ten million of watched. We were hungry for details that would make it easier to pick the president. I started out firmly a Clintonite. I switched because I never hire the biggest liar, not for a secretary, a manager, and especially not for the president of the company. I don't any personnel manager who would. Can you think of any? Yes, Obama has as good as already won this and we all know it.... if you educate voters on how to choose the best person for the job you can keep the high ground and you'll be educating republicans to.. posted 04/23/2008 at 12:18:53

White Men

Now quoting the last sentence of my previous comment below, "Can any of you politicians, news people, rich people hear us NOW?"

How's it feel Nora? How's it feel to be painted with such broad strokes? Rich people (said with disgust). How does that feel to anyone who reads this page and happens to be rich? It makes them think I'm an idiot for thinking they're as racist and sexist as you are.

Now on the other hand, IF the white males really do control the outcome of this vote.... think about how they feel about you right now and your opinion.

You and Clinton are amazing. You are sooooo inspirational. You inspire us to vote for Barack, to donate the piddling little bits of money we can scrape up, and even to work the phone banks when we're dog tired. You go girl! Write another one just like this first thing tomorrow!! :))

This is exactly why Clinton shouldn't be our president. Instead of treating other powers with dignity and a desire to work together to achieve what's best for all of us, she'll hammer anyone who gets in her way. Sorry Nora, but we're about survival now. Given the choices of Bush lite, Bush ultra-lite and something entirely different for a change, the group that's most likely to vote for Obama tomorrow is... voters. posted 04/21/2008 at 14:37:43
Nora, you said "This is an election about whether the people of Pennsylvania hate blacks more than they hate women."

All we're going to find out Tuesday is what percentage of voters are as intelligent as Obama believes they are, and what percentage are as stupid as you and Clinton think the voters are.

Do you believe poor people suffering for years, (in way's rich people couldn't possibly suffer them) are going to vote based on gender? We care more about how much we can trust them, who has the cooler head, who is best at working wisely, respectfully and well even with people they disagree with?

I am losing respect for people I never imagined I'd stop trusting. Charlie Gibson, George S., Tim Russert, Lorne Michaels, and now even YOU Nora? You cannot be as dumb as this post. If you are, I suggest you trade places with me for a month. I'm a 55 yr old woman with no health insurance. My grandson is 15, old enough to die in Iraq or Iran fighting the good fight for the United States of Halliburton before this next presidential term ends.

If the best person for the job was an 85 year old trannsexual, I'd still vote for 'em. I don't care about anything except who can do the job of getting us out of the mess Bush and the Clintons have gotten us into. Can any of you politicians, news people, rich people hear us NOW? posted 04/21/2008 at 13:48:20

Stupid Is As Hillary (and Charlie, George, and Tim) Does

I'm wondering why no one has compiled that list and put it side by side with Obama's questionable associates. That page would get millions of hits. In fact, it should have been up from the beginning of this race. The race would already be over. Had I realized it, I'd have researched and built it myself. Seems a little late in the game now. I've had trust issues all my life but at least I could trust the news to a pretty big degree. I never considered Fox real news anyways, so they didn't bother me. But I've trusted Charlie and George and Tim and Chris as long as I've known them and loved them.

How depressed you must be to believe things can't change for the better. Yes, if we continued with politics as usual, I'd be wih you. But you forget that Obama and (OK-R) Tom Coburn co-sponsored the Federal funding Accountability and transparency act of 2006 That's not just getting a bill passed. That's THE bill passed that shook Washington to it's rotten foundation. What has Hillary ever done to clean up the government so it can do a better job for us? Besides, the country is in such a condition that pretty much everyone, democrat and republican will work to make things better. Hillary is too good at old style politics to have any real desire to make the system itself healthier. Oh well, that's her loss. More and more politicians and news people who can't change with the changes are losing power. I'm so glad to finally get to see this transformational moment in history. There's so much more at stake than bragging rights. I'm a woman. And I wish Obama was a woman so we could have the first woman president and the best president in the last 40 years minimum - all rolled into one. Clinton Faces Steady Erosion Of Support

Only land line telephones are polled. That means that some huge percentage of people 18 to 34 years of age aren't being polled. And 25% of the voters in Penn are 18 to 34. The polls should be adjusted to take that into consideration. posted 04/21/2008 at 14:54:07

Unprecedented Number Of Americans Witness Debate Atrocity

BOYCOTT ABC. No one is more educated in how bad things have gotten in our country over the last eight years that Charlie and George. They KNEW we needed a debate about the important issues facing us in the years to come. I'm 55 and don't have health insurance, My grandson is 15. Do the math. He can die in Iraq or Iran before the next presidential term is over. And they wasted our time asking Obama if he is patriotic, does he wear a flag pen. I'm gonna miss the view. Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives, but you know, they're about as important as flag pins compared to my grandson... and, my life.

Really, at least consider boycotting the news, if you can't do that, then at least until this election is over only buy from their sponsor's competitors. posted 04/20/2008 at 17:46:33

ABC Debate: High Ratings, Critics Give Broadcast Poor Reviews

What ABC did was either unimaginably inept or they did this for a better shot at achieving their own political agenda's. If this is ineptitude, then Charlie and George are as guilty as anyone that they're raking over and they need to sit out the rest of the election.

BUT..... IF THIS WAS A CONSPIRACY THEN IT'S THE BIGGEST STORY IN THIS CAMPAIGN AND ANY NEWS AGENCY THAT ISN'T TALKING ABOUT IT HAS BEEN BOUGHT AND CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

Chris Matthews announced he was running for the senate a few days ago and suddenly the guy who's against Clinton is encouraging the yahoo vote and sounding like he's been bought.

I'm 55 and don't have health insurance. I've got a grandson who is 15. Do the math Chris. How much do --I-- care about flag pins? No. I don't. Now that you've announced your desire to be a senator and your hardball has gone, at this late hour, just the week before the Pennsylvania primary - soft - it's time you consider your own conflict of interests.

A man lacking integrity in Chris's position, and promised a senate seat for keeping politics as they'v been far too long.... . Who could shift more swing votes than him by Tues.? His Christmasy joy is our nightmare. We can't trust most of the members of the fourth estate.

Yeah, what Obama should have answered him when he was asked about his friendly relationship with Ayers.... I have friendly relationships with lots of people that I disagree with on many matters, now it's true that I was 8 years old at the time of his crimes, so yes, I have been friendly with him, set on the same charity board with him. I don't just say I'm against divisiveness... it's a part of who I am. Now I will say this... that I don't know all the details of why Senator Clinton's husband pardoned two of the Weatherman that were his cohorts, but this does raise questions in voters minds about when they're supposed to believe she's telling the truth about where she stands and what she'll do.

NOTHING SAYS "LESS BULLSHIT AND MORE REAL NEWS" BETTER THAN
BOYCOTTING THE SPONSORS OF THEIR TWO SHOWS UNTIL AFTER THE NOVEMBER ELECTION.

That's what I'm going to do. How bout you?

I truly believe that debate is the worst gaffe Charlie or George either one ever made and I just know they'll never do anything so poorly again. However, I'm still going to watch each of their shows one more time to write down their sponsors names and I'm boycotting their sponsors from now until the election in November. Not a permanent or devastating punishment for their temporary ignorance, but if all of us did the same thing, it would send a message to all of the news media that a little less bullshit for the ratings and a lot more real news for the American people is in order.

Another part of me thinks maybe George and Hillary are still good buddies. I mean hell, all you have to do is count the number of minutes they grilled her and the number of minutes they grilled him to see how biased this debate was. They grilled him for 40 or 45 minutes and the last half of the show was mostly snippets of their views and plans concerning real issues... did they think we wouldn't notice???

John McCain Should Go on Vacation, Hillary Clinton is Doing His Job for Him

That headline is the most accurate soundbyte I've heard this year. Arianna you are so good at nailing down exactly what it is she's doing that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I knew it was despicable, knew she was spinning it out of the galaxy... but you make it down to earth clear. God girl, when are you going to be on Real Time again? THIS week hopefully!

When Pennslvania votes we're going to find out what percentage of them deserve the faith Barack Obama has in their intelligence, and what percentage of them earn the faith Hillary Clinton has in their ignorance.

One thing though that I think Hillary Clinton deserves credit for that no one ever gives her. She is amazingly inspirational. Hillary has gone from inspiring more of us to vote for Barack, to getting more of us to donate to Barack and now she's getting more of us to volunteer for Barack. I'm lazy and it took both the hope of getting Obama and the fear of getting the terrifying, 3 headed, Clinton-Rove-Clinton snake to get me sweating. You gotta admit, she's doing her part there. By God if that's not inspirational, I don't what is. posted 04/15/2008 at 12:27:33

SNL Returns: Clintons, Dodd And Christopher Walken's Tongue

You're so righi Amomma. I have to tivo meet the press and george steph, and cnn headline news just to make sure I don't miss another revelation about Hillary Clinton, her ability to make up wild stories about sniper fire and then defend that big windy with more b.s., the long overdue release of their least damaging financial reports... (still holding the best stuff back) their beholdings to the rich and corporate is even far bigger than I had imagined, now to see yet another conflict of interest with her man, Penn....

Amomma, you remind me of my Momma. I know she would have voted for Clinton because she always said "when you're in trouble, hire the best crooked lawyer you can get." And that's the Clintons to a t.

I just think Obama, even though he's clean as a whistle.... will still get more done for us, partly because the Clintons are mostly great crooked lawyers for big corporations. And partly because he's better, even with dignity, honor, honesty and his determination to do what's best for everyone..... he's going to defeat the crooks and get a lot more done for us than the sure bet - the best crooked lawyers we can get.

No one can deny the Clintons are good and slippery crooks that pushed through NAFTA while bragging they're for the blue collar workers.

I don't watch SNL anymore. Instead I read about their fox tactics here. I'm an older viewer they've alienated. But I wonder what they're doing to themselves with the young people? Does SNL have the power to magically blind them to reality? No. Their propaganda always misses the mark because as someone else already said here, satire begins with the truth. Otherwise it fails. Clinton-Backer Nutter: Media Covers Race With "Double Standard"

I don't give a tinker's dam about making history this time around. Our country is in too big a mess, way too many Americans are suffering way too many Bush created problems. All I care about is who's the best person for the job of cleaning up after him.

Anyone who votes for a candidate because of their race, gender or age at a time like this - is a blithering idiot. America is in need of the best leadership we can get and it needs it now, not later. I'm a 55 year old white woman, and the person I trust to be the best President for the American people is Barack Obama.

Now if I was voting for the best President for the United States of Big Corporations, I'd vote for Hillary Clinton.

If I was voting for the best President for the United states of Halliburton & Blackwater Wars Inc, I'd vote for John McCain.

I like all three of them. I don't care about their colors, genders or ages. All I care about is which one will be the best President who really will make progress in improvements that benefit everyone. So I'm voting Obama.

And if you're black and you think Hillary Clinton can be so secretive, such a big liar, and so very owned by big corporations - and still be the best president for the people, then you should vote for her. posted 04/04/2008 at 17:31:43

Obama Uses The "R" Word, Clinton Doesn't

So you're saying he just copied Clinton when he co-authored the bipartisan transparency in ear marks bill that he got passed which will dramatically reduce pork barrel spending?

And are you also saying he copied her when he co-authored with (R) Tom Coburn the lobby reform bill the put a crack in the dam of the big corporations running our govenment for their own good instead of the American peoples good? You should read the Time magazine article on that before you answer.

He's the one taking serious concrete action to return the government to the people. Show me what she has done to restore government to the people that succeeded, to compare. Show me any that even failed. Because so far I haven't seen her do anything to improve the health and well being of our government. Show me.

But if he's just Hillary's copycat, what I wonder is why he hasn't copied her fantastic imagination telling everyone that he too had to duck for cover from sniper fire in a foreign country. posted 03/28/2008 at 09:15:30

Carville Stands By "Judas" Remark, Says He Wanted To Brand Richardson

I think this is the way it went down....
Richardson had to choose between his loyalty to the Clintons and his loyalty to our country.
So he considered very carefully the decisions George W. Bush has made each time he had to choose between loyalty to who'd scratched his back the most versus loyalty to what was best for our country.

It made it easy for him to see that his greatest loyalty must be to the country, because if nothing else, GW taught us how bad things can be when any political figure places their loyalty to anyone for anything above what is best for the United States of America. Speaking of Jesus Christ, "Jesus Christ, GWB damn near turned us into the United States of Halliburton, that's how loyal he was!"
