Bio
Social-documentary photographer, writer, editor. Most significant photography: everyday portraits of an octogenarian scientist as he recovers from a stroke (a work in progress); founding photographer, The Seattle Sun (1974-1976); portraits of the people served by the ghetto-outreach clinics of Beth Israel Hospital, NYC, 1967-1970. Biggest mainstream-press story: how the Vietnam War spawned a heroin-addiction epidemic throughout the United States, but the feds did everything in their power to cover it up (Jersey Journal, 1970). Biggest Internet story: welfare bureaucrats greedily hiked administrative costs 5,390 percent over 20 years even as they slashed stipends and services by 66 percent -- yet now, with President Clinton's leadership, they blame the poor for skyrocketing costs (1995).
