Electing Sweetie

Right on, Erica!!

People are calling Hillary the 'B' word and going for Obama.

Maybe it's time to consider keeping Hillary on board. She is back with a vengence and can take on the GOP, whereas Obama probably can't.

We NEED Hillary. Don't push her out of the game!

If, during the Super Bowl this year, New York were to leave the field and just give up because the other team looked like they were going to win, we'd have no respect for them.

New York's Senator should stay in the game, and may pull out and win, as well. posted 05/16/2008 at 13:52:30

How about the sexism that still exists?! How about CEO's getting paid 700 times what the average worker in the company makes?! How about Kent State?! Waco!? Advice for Michelle Obama:

In a commercial say:

"I was speaking of how I am proud that America has come out in millions to vote for a Black man for President. It is absolute evidence that the walls of racism have finally come down.

There is nothing to be proud of from this White House administration. (List negatives...pre-emptive war; economy that favors the rich; full of lies; etc.

And there is nothing to be proud of with John McCain's neo-con ideas, either. (expand) He will create only a country we will be ashamed of. posted 05/16/2008 at 13:00:54

I know you don't like Hillary, Arianna, and love Obama, (I like them both) but, I think we're going to have to come at McCain with a double barrelled shotgun, by having both Obama and Hillary on the same ticket.

He's too hard to beat. He's a man's man, has a sence of humor, very likeable, and has had the respect of many Americans for many, many years. Plus, he's a white man.

But if we do get the old McCain back, we'll lose the election.

Having him say neoconish things helps our team.

McCain is, however, starting to play the Bush/Rove game of disecting national demographics, and saying things like---we withdraw troops, but keep the military base in Iraq, and no casualties.

Now how can puppy Obama compete with that?

Obama MUST say we keep military base in Iraq, remove troops en masse, and no csualties.

Or else we lose. posted 05/15/2008 at 12:26:36

There are 189 delegates to be won in the remaining primaries (Kentucky-51; Oregon-52; Puerto Rico-55; Montana - 16; South Dakota - 15. Total 189.

There are 250 Super Delegates left.

Florida- 211; Michigan - 157. Total - 368.

Obama had 1,884, needed 142 to get to 2026.
Clinton had 1,718, neede 308 to win.

Total outstanding delegates: 807.

Hillary could possibly reach 2026, as well. posted 05/14/2008 at 14:09:58

Six Reasons Why Obama and Clinton Would Each Say "Yes" to VP

I think Hillary would look pretty good on the ticket if, and when, McCain stresses the importance of having a military Base in the Middle East. He's already said we can have a base there without casualties.

We used to have a military base in the Middle East--in Saudia Rabia, until we got kicked out after 9/11.

Too bad we didn't just pay some country to establish one ther---it would have been less costly in terms of money and lives.

We are just at the beginning of of oil problems. Perhap's Hillary's vote won't look so foolish when it comes time to vote in November.

Mark Twian said, "Because their features and the color of their skin is different from ours, we fail to notice that their hearts are a far sight better than our own." Its so true---I love Black people---and I want to help them---and do help them--and always treat them with dignity and respect--but the lower class Blacks are going to be like what the camera caught after the OJ verdict was read.
Meanwhile we've got serious issues on the economy and war going on---and this extra distraction won't help matters any. posted 04/23/2008 at 14:16:07
I don't understand all this Hillary hatred.
And to all the naive Obama supporters out there--there's this story: When many of us Chicago north side liberals voted in our first Black Mayor--Harold Washington, droves of Blacks came up from the south side bringing their -playing at full volume- boomboxes, and started hanging out in the lovely Rush Street area where there are many bars, restuarants, and charming and upscale shops. The Blacks took over and assumed the position of 'Wez conquered ya'll'. They snubbed us, tried to scare us, never reached out a hand to us in friendship----they laughed in our faces. Then Rush Street died because they were there. It took years to rebuild after Harold died. It was just like Bill Cosby has been telling them---they have to change. cont. below" posted 04/23/2008 at 14:15:02

Ten Things to Remember on Tuesday Night

The Huffington Post being so anti-Hillary is a mistake.

and I'm sick to death of it.

I saw "A Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash" last night on the Sundance channel.

We're going to be out of oil in no time---maybe 2 more decades left.

These are serious times with serious decisions to be made.

Not to mention, the clean up of Bushes messes.

This is no time to vote in a puppy.

This country needs Hillary.

And you better start treating her with respect when she wins, or you'll rue the day... posted 04/22/2008 at 14:23:57

Bush Three Is Wrong -- Is Clinton Three Any Better?

Hi Alec! Thanks for being so politically active. And smart!

Sorry, I'm still for Hillary. If you can get past the the lying sniper fire stories, you can see she's still the one most ready and able to take on all the incredible challenges left by the Bush administration.

If it were any other time---with no war, a time of peace and prosperity---I'd say, fine, Obama.
But these times are too serious for having the Black issue in full bloom while we have all these other problems. Hillary will help Blacks too. Barak is in no way proven as someone who can even know how to turn our economy around.
And we have an even more serious issue at hand, and nobody's talking about it. We are going to be out of oil very, very soon. I watched "A Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash" on the Sundance channel last night. We've got a catastrophy right around the corner. That's why we need the astute and experienced, Hillary. Not the puppy, tho warm, sweet and kind.
So, since oil is the lifeblood of the nation, we did need a military base in the Middle East. Too bad the greedy, sick, morons in the White House decided on a war instead of just paying some Middle East country for us to build one there. posted 04/22/2008 at 13:24:10

White Men

One thing good is coming of this political campaign.

This campaign alone is helping us grow.

This campaign is forcing men to give up their male supremacy; a 10 thousand year old tradition.

And this campaign has finally brought this country to a place where it would actually vote a black man into office.

Even if McCain wins (God, if you do exist---please don't let that happen---it will spell financial ruin for this country in my lifetime), but even if McCain wins, our country can now go forward seeing that it is truely possible that a woman or a black man could become President of the United States. Thank God. posted 04/22/2008 at 17:21:18
Unbelievable!

After reading through the posted comments on Nora's article, I find it proof in the pudding that sexism is so ingrained in our culture that we don't even see it.

And that those patting themselves on the back for voting for a black man, while at the same time would never vote for a woman----is a hypocrit.

Like Mark Twain said, 'Man is a fool. And woman, a damn fool.'

This race IS about the Black and the female, you, you-can't see past your nose- faux liberals!

Nora, you are right on!!

And don't be afraid to keep expressing exactly what you think. posted 04/22/2008 at 17:05:24

My Recollection of Hillary Clinton at the 1995 Camp David Meeting

The author said she couldn't "quote" Hillary.

Attention to detail.

If it were a man behaving in the same way as Hillary, that would be just fine.

Sexism is so ingrained in our culture, we don't even see it.

Like Mark Twain said, "Man is a fool.

And woman, is a damn fool." posted 04/18/2008 at 13:53:37

Beyond Herself, Who Does Hillary Clinton Really Want to See Win?

You watched the debates with a blind eye.

Hillary is the best for the job, and she knows it.

Of course she has to fight to win. You weren't ever going to vote for her anyway. posted 04/18/2008 at 14:10:01

The Very Serious Debate, Starring The Very Serious George & Charlie

Ya, but wasn't Hillary GREAT!!!

She really knows her stuff.

She will be our next President!

YES!!! The first woman President!!! And what a terrific role model she is for us women.

Thank you Hillary, for your endurance.

And thank you, George and Charlie, for being men enough to try to even the score, and not be sexist against Hillary. posted 04/18/2008 at 14:06:24

Here We Go Again

Hillary and Bill are corrupt to the core!!???

Come on---they are nice people with the American people truely at heart.

I, too, predicted all the Bush administration would do.

And I also predicted the World Trade Center buildings would come tumbling down after they got hit.

But I can also predict that Hillary would do the best job in the White House.

And I can also predict, that if Obama wins, we will be hearing about race ad nauseum for the next four years.

Remember how the cameras captured the Black responce to the OJ verdict across America's cafeterias? We are going to see more of that. A lot more of that if Obama wins. posted 04/14/2008 at 15:58:48

Who Can Beat McCain?

Sorry for calling you sexist, last time, Alex. I take it back.

I think the only answer is: Hillary and Obama on one ticket!!!

If Obama is on top, then our country will again be witnessing what we saw in cafeterias all across the country after the OJ verdict was read.

Or what we in Chicago witnessed after we elected our first Black mayor: swarms of southside Blacks drove up to the famous 'Rush Street' area bringing their boom boxes with, playing at full volume. They didn't reach out a hand to us in friendship; they snubbed us as if they were taking over. Practically all the bars ands restuarants closed and it took years to rebuild after Mayor Harold Washington died.

Hillary has to be on top. She won't do the Vice Pres spot, I believe; afterall she already was Vice President for 8 years.

Vice President would be perfect for Obama.

With all the problems the new president will have to clean up after the present administration, this is no time to bring in the "Black Issue" on top of it all. posted 04/10/2008 at 18:31:00

Howard Dean Gets Heated With Clinton Donors At Private Meeting

Dean got us into this mess in the first place. I guess he was a hot-head afterall.

The race will continue through the convention. And it will be Dean, ultimately who will "appoint" the nominee. Oh, great. posted 04/04/2008 at 16:28:52

A Vote for Hillary Is a Vote for the Death of the Dollar

Excellent post, Alex??!!

Obama is in no way ready to handle the economic crisis!!

Hillary was Vice President for 8 years----a time of prosperity for all.

I hate to say it, Alex, but I think you're a tad sexist. posted 04/02/2008 at 15:16:56

Abstinence is the New Feminism (And Other Things I Learned at Harvard)

How about teaching women self respect.

That is the only way to change this male supremist thing they've been getting away with for forever.

I am 53 years old. If I could do it over again, with my new ability to see that a lot of men had no interest in me as a person (men that would prefer I not have a voice---want me to just sit there and look pretty and adoringly at them), I would just come outright and say it. Yes, I would say, "You have no interest in me as a person, and you don't give a damn about my personality. So until you prove to me you like me as a person---there will be no sex."

And girls---what is with this high sqeeky voice many of you are doing. That says you are lower on the totem pole. Men are very concious of their voices---trying to keep them as low as possible at all times.

Also, knock it off with the playing dumb. It only creates relationships of dysfunction from the dishonesty.

We need Hillary as President. Can't you women see that!!! posted 04/01/2008 at 13:13:49

Not Until the Fat Lady Sings

During these times---our economy in ruin; a war in the land of oil----we need someone with the experience and moxy of Hillary Clinton.

Obama---if he were an economist, or some brilliant, and successful business person, then he should be considered. But he is not. He is a puppy in comparison to Hillary.

Wake up. How in God's name could Obama cure the woes our country faces today?

Vice President----not President Obama. posted 04/04/2008 at 15:55:39

Could the Republicans Pick the Democratic Nominee? -- The Untold Story of How the GOP Rigged Florida and Michigan

Thank goodness for Chuck Schumer--D-NY.

He says "Of course we're going to count FL and MI."

He is a powerful person.

His head is screwed on straight.

He should have been the nominee for President.

He will come to the rescue at the convention.

Dean may trump Schumer at the convention, however (since he is the actual power in this decision) and may "appoint" Obama (since that is who he is endorsing). posted 03/31/2008 at 15:08:12

Hooked on Hillary

I'm still for Hillary, even tho I'm going around asking myself, "How could Hillary be so stupid as to tell such a story?"

I'm disappointed, but the fact stil remains: In these highly troubled times, she's the best one to handle the job as President.

Obama would be great as President if we didn't have an economy going down the toilet.

Obama hasn't the experience to handle the right wing attacks, while Hillary can, as she is back with a vengence.

I know everyone wants equality of the races, but gender bias is so ingrained in our society, that most people seem unaware of it.

Having the additional "Black" issue on the plate of the Presidency, may overshadow the fact that this country may be going into financial ruin.

'You're a racist!' 'No, you're a racist!' It's like McCarthyism: 'You're a communist!' That's all we're going to be hearing for the next four years if Obama is elected. Meanwhile, America becomes the next 'Japan-like' economy. posted 03/31/2008 at 14:03:09

Reuters: "Somebody Forgot To Tell Hillary Clinton The Democratic Presidential Race Is Over And Barack Obama Won"

Richardson! He unwisely remarked that Super Delegates should follow what the voters in their region wanted. That was Clinton for him. Then he comes out and endorses Barack!! Geesh! I'm glad he didn't win the nomination!

Hillary won all the major states. They are basically neck and neck. Over 5 times in the past decade, did a candidate go into the convention with less delegates, and come out the winner. Wilson, FDR, Eisenhower...

Howard Dean ultimately will decide this. Unfortunately he was chairman when the DNC decided to have MI and FL not be in the race. Maybe he's a hothead, afterall. If he goes with Barack, we'll have a puppy in there during a most critical time. If we were at peace, and the economy was clicking along just fine, then He would be OK. But it's not. We need Hillary. Barack--Vice President. posted 03/27/2008 at 14:59:17

Big Mac's Blazing Saddle Diplomacy

Very good comments from everybody!
We only have about 30 more years of oil. What, McCain doesn't know that!? I guess not---why else would we stay there 100 years? Once the oil is gone---we're gone.
Too bad there aren't government insentives for discovering alternative energy---I mean something good enough to get an airplane across the ocean. Time is running out. Imagine what our lives would be like if we could no longer fly. Still no cure for the common cold.
Without oil, we come to a screaching halt.
We should have just paid a Middle Eastern country to have a military base there since we got kicked out of Saudi Arabia---it would have been cheaper than a war. Well, that's if you really care about the economy of the whole nation, let alone the devastation the widows of war will never get over.
But obviously, this administration, nor McCain, is concerned about either of those two things---there has been no advantages for us being there. No cheaper oil---but more expensive. No peace in that region---rather turmoil. What are we fighting for? If we win---what does that mean? Nothing. Absolutely nothing---just a richer Halliburton, Blackwater, and a lot of macho fun for that spoiled, ignoramous, our President, George Bush.
If McCain wins it will spell disaster for America in the way of financial ruin. posted 03/27/2008 at 13:37:11
