She had been asked a loaded question, and everyone with any sense knows it.
There is not one single public figure anywhere in the world who hasn't been trapped by a similar tactic, and it shows a certain lack of character to reference this kind of "gotcha" gaffe. posted 05/07/2008 at 11:23:55
I agree 100%. Just this morning I said I'd vote for Hillary over McCain if that's what it came to. After reading this, I have to take it back. If Hillary gets the nomination, I'm voting for Nader. posted 05/05/2008 at 15:15:45
There is so little logic in this article, I'm feeling a bit depressed.
Electoral nonsense aside, the bit about superdelegates is just laughable. Critics, columnists, prognosticators, and strategists cannot "interfere" with their job. Superdelegates make their decisions based on what they think is best for the party. If they are swayed by a compelling argument, then THAT is democracy. It's something grown-ups do -- consider various points of view before making a decision.
Telling people to shut up because you don't agree with them is more like a child throwing a tantrum. posted 04/23/2008 at 10:49:43
Brown for Obama and Pink for Clinton? Are you kidding me?
How is anyone supposed to take such a site serioiusly?
Unfortunate map-color choices aside, there is no way any such poll can be accurate until AFTER each party has locked in its candidate. posted 04/23/2008 at 10:38:44
Actually, no that's not what he's saying. The bible upload was blocked so Comcast could give preferential treatment to other users such as Comcast's own internet video service.
They aren't filtering select content -- they are blocking entire services and applications. posted 04/23/2008 at 10:27:54
Well, Mac, if that's true ... if that's really what they are accusing Obama of based on this one small sound bite ... and most important, if they want us to believe he is somehow MORE guilty of these sentiiments than Clinton or McCain, then they are even more deluded than I thought they were. posted 04/16/2008 at 10:49:37
Maybe if the state of Massachusetts pulled its collective head out of its arse, we wouldn't have to worry about Joe Lieberman anymore. posted 04/11/2008 at 10:10:20
Jon is a comedian, and he wanted to cover this humorous incident. You cannot comment on this event without acknowledging that it's a slightly dirty -- albeit brilliant -- maneuver on the part of the Obama campaign.
Handing out tickets is not unethical, and Jon never claims that it is. It's just funny, and slightly dickish.
Do we want a president who's not willing to appear slightly dickish against his adversaries? posted 04/10/2008 at 12:46:46
Mr. Ridley points to a claim that is not widely known (the push to legitimize cries of "weightism"). He refutes that claim and states his opinion.
He may not have gone out of his way to help the afflicted, but I would not call his post "vacuous." posted 04/07/2008 at 12:41:20
The so-called discrimination he's referring to has little to do with aesthetics and much to do with the trend among insurance companies to give price breaks to companies with less obese employees.
Also, the "evidence" you refer to is about people who are SLIGHTLY overweight, not obese. There is no credible study anywhere in the universe that will tell you it's okay to weigh 250 pounds. posted 04/07/2008 at 12:36:26
It's so charming when a so-called journalistic professional throws a big hissy fit because a public figure declines an interview. posted 04/09/2008 at 10:20:11
Much as I agree with her politics, I cannot stand to listen to Ms Rhodes. She's obnoxious and arrogant and basically everything I hate about Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter except for the message. Even though she takes the correct side of an argument, she often explains her reasoning in the most illogical ways. I'd rather listen to someone who is wrong for the right reasons than someone who is right for the wrong reasons. posted 04/07/2008 at 14:39:32
