This is an exciting time to be alive. Despite the prevalence of destructive forces in our society, such as rampant greed, senseless hatred, toxic lifestyles, and crippling consumerism, I have great hope for the future because of sites like the HuffPost, where intelligent debate is alive and well, where people exhibit conscientious thinking that extends beyond their own self interests, and where politicians are actually expected to uphold their promise to protect and serve their citizens.
The Bush administration led America down a very dark and dismal path, and I hope we collectively find the strength and courage to create a more informed, empowered, sustainable, and humane global society.
