Electing Sweetie

Democrats are falling into the same old crap as last time. Are we that gullible? Do the Republicans really know how to push our buttons?

We are split up once again and the republicans will win if we don't stop this!!!!!!!!!

So woman RISE UP. Lets show men who's the boss. Don't vote for Obama who has supported womans rights. Let's vote for McCain who calls his wife the "C" word. Then Woman will be respected.

Doesn't make much sense does it? posted 05/16/2008 at 14:00:57
Woman apparently do feel slighted by Obama and the press and maybe they are right. I feel it mostly comes from the press. And since the same press has been talking highly of Obama they feel Obama is the target of their frustration.
My frustration though is woman making a point of making Obama look bad so McCain will win. Or voting for McCain purely out of spite. Almost like saying "I will show those men, I will vote for the guy that will hurt this country the most. Then maybe woman will be heard".

This makes me feel resentment toward woman. I don't support Obama because he's a male. I support him because I believe him. At the beginning I felt if Obama lost the primary I would vote for Hillery (pre-kitchen sink). I would not have voted for McCain over Hillery. I'm not suggesting woman give up their fight. But don't fight against the man. Fight for the woman. posted 05/16/2008 at 13:30:01
You are comparing whitewater to Obama calling a woman sweetie?

First off, this sweeties thing is another ridicules thing MSM (and you) seems to want to promote. Every morning, at the gas station I get coffee, the WOMAN behind the counter calls me sweetie. I'm probably twice her age and I'm sure she's not trying to belittle me. Do you really think he was just trying to "shut her up" as you say. Please stop making something of nothing. Maybe some people could be offended and maybe Obama should give up this habit, but do you really believe he thinks less of her than he does any other reporter?

Second, Hillery has plenty for the republicans to dig up. And nothing ever does need to stick. All it needs is to be out there for some people to feel there is some truth to it. Please tell me you actually believe "everyone" believes Hillery was completely innocent of any wrong doing in the whitewater case?
My point is it's out there for the picking. And do you actually believe the republicans will say "oh darn... we already used that years ago" and then sit twitling their thumbs while Clinton marches on to the White house? Please. All her issues will be out there again. And they will come out with new ones too. So actually Hillery probably has even more dirt. posted 05/16/2008 at 12:35:59

Exclusive Video: McCain Was For Talking To Hamas Before He Was Against It...

It's one thing to flip flop, opinions should be able to change with the times, but this is coming from a guy who had his own opinions and then sold his soul to the republicans. You don't attack someone that shares the same opinion just to kiss up to your party. Attack him on things you disagree with. McCain is lying to not only himself, he's lying to American voters to get the conservative votes.
If you ask me McCain should have run his own campaign rather than let the party take it over. the republicans have a very low approval rating and McCains battles with the republicans in the past would only help him right now. The conservative votes would have come anyway but the independents are up for grabs. McCain will loose those votes because he's trying too hard to prove he's a republican.

It's better policy to just go in and kill people rather than take a chance of them turning out like Hitler.

And really who's to say if that senator did talk with Hitler things might not have happened like they did. It never happened so there is no way of knowing. Just like there is no way of knowing if Bush tried a little more diplomacy in Iraq, many of our solders may not have died.

The thing Bush can not seem to grasp is, even if that senator did talked with Hitler and Hitler still chose the same path, the outcome would have been the same. It's not like we decided to go to war right when Hitler started invading Poland. We waited. We waited until Japan attacked us at Pearl Harbor. So basically the decision to not try to use diplomacy could have been the reason so many people died in world war II. posted 05/15/2008 at 11:59:28

You are very right about this. I believe this is why Clinton is somewhat backing off. She continues to campaign while Obama is moving on. Obama supporters have nothing left to prove so many will stay home. Clinton supporters still do want to prove something. They will be out in full force.

This will give Clinton her argument that voters have changed their minds.

Then you feel the press is easier on Obama after he was hit hard with rev Wright, the questions of his true religion, a flag pin, his middle name, etc etc etc.

It seems to be the opposite when it comes to sexism. Hillery can speak all she wants about how hard it is being a woman in a mans world but if Obama speaks of how hard it is to be a black man in a white mans world, he will be frowned upon. posted 05/12/2008 at 08:35:53

Obama Beats Hillary In Superdelegates For First Time, ABC Reports

I think many of the supers are trying to be cautious for the good of the party and not for themselves. They need to make sure they do not alienate the Clinton supporters during this process. And Clinton needs to accept she has lost (not publicly but in her head) and stop saying stupid things to the press. She needs to gradually back down so her supporters don't feel betrayed. The party is divided and needs to come back together to win in a general election. This is allot more delicate situation than some people realize. 1. She has not competed in a Republican style presidential election (Obama has been already TESTED by Hillery)
2. She has many issues that were not brought up during the primaries that can and will hurt her. (his issues are out in the open)
3. The McCain supporters will no longer be voting for her (most of which were hard working white Americans).
4. She has lost much of the black vote which accounts for 20% of the democratic base

I'm confused. So Bill can go to a huge contributors function, get paid huge amounts of money just to say a speech, and then give it to Hillery to loan to her campaign but the contributor can't just give her the money upfront.
Isn't that some sort of money laundering?
Then if she looses she doesn't have to pay herself back? If she wins then she pays for it with the money she makes as president (our tax money). posted 05/07/2008 at 10:56:49

Hillery ran a Republican style contest. She brought out issues the democratic party had to know would be an issue going into a general election. When these candidates decide to run, everyone looks at ALL the little issues that may be used to hurt a candidate. The sooner these issues are brought out in the open, the less likely they will hurt the during the general election. She also made Obama a household name. If Hillery didn't stay in the race, Obama would not have been in the news nearly every night. His issues would still be unknown and waiting for the republicans to bring them out just before the election. It was in the parties best interest for Hillery to be the bad guy. Give me one example of Clinton cleaning up after the Bushes. In actuality she has supported the Bushes to make the mess we are in.
Where was Hillery's tuffness when she tried to get her healthcare plan passed in the 90's. That's right. She ran into a brick wall. You can blame the republicans all you want but the truth is she doesn't know enough about politics to get things done.
Where was Clintons tuffness to stand up against the war in Iraq.
The problem is people think being able to sling dirt makes you tuff. But I think we should have learned from Bush that acting like the tuff kid on the block doesn't mean he's the best man for the job.

Rev. Jeremiah Wright: My Words Were Twisted

This is to paciere,
Have you ever told a black joke? Have you ever looked at a black man and felt he was probably a thief? Have you ever used the "N" word? I am a white male and I feel that I am very open to race. Yet I know I am guilty of all the above. Allot of us want to be free of racism but it's still there.
I'm not saying it's like it was in the 60's but it is still there.
If it wasn't for these preachers like rev. Wright or Al Sharpton, it would be easier to express these feelings. My neighbor down the street who is extremely racist would be heard allot more than he does. He would be influencing many more young people to follow the same path. I'm not an Al Sharpton fan. In fact I get pissed too when ever every little situation between a black and white gets blown way out of proportion.
The difference between you saying something like what Rev. Wright said and Rev. Wright saying it is, you don't have people looking down at you when you walk through their neighborhood. You don't have to worry about your children not getting the same sort of opportunities based on the color of their skin. posted 04/24/2008 at 16:20:04

Krugman: Obama Clinging To A Stereotype

You are WRONG.

What you fail to comprehend is, when people loose there jobs because the jobs are shipped overseas, they blame the government. After all it was the government that that made it easier for these companies to go. And as far as Billy and the economy during his presidency, sometimes the actions of our presidents are not seen until long after they are out of office. So Billy is not free and clear of the situation we are in today.

When people do not trust their government to look out for them, they do turn to other leadership. They look for groups of people that feel the same as they do. Religion is one of those groups people turn to. How can you argue that? And then when the same government that lost your job wants to take your ability to own a gun, then these people feel the government is slowly taking away their ability to dictate what direction our government goes in. posted 04/18/2008 at 12:49:56

A Few Unanswered Questions About Bill Richardson's Obama Endorsement

The way the system is set up there are really no rules for the super delegates. And really there are no rules to who they select for their nominee. After all is said and done the democratic party could, if they wanted, decide to go with Edwards. The thing is they need to look at who they feel gives them the best possibility of winning a general election. Because this race is so tight between Obama and Clinton they could go either way. Edwards states that he feels this system is a bit flawed but he still has the right to select who ever he feels would best fit, in his opinion. Edwards has been a long time friend of the Clintons but he apparently was impressed with Obama in the short time he's dealt with him. I think this says more than just another delegate for Obama. This choice must have been hard for him to make. posted 03/21/2008 at 13:59:36

Even the republicans fear Obama more. Why would they attack him before Clinton was totally out of the race? But you listen to every speech of every candidate in every new city, of coarse you will hear the same thing over and over. Obama is the hot media topic so they are playing every one of his speeches. posted 03/21/2008 at 11:00:48
Richardson dance around the subject because of his close ties to the Clintons. For him to step up now is really saying allot.
But I have a theory. The Democratic party could have ended this along time ago by pressuring their super delegates to commit. They didn't because they want the main focus on them as long as possible. With Obama being a new face, it's important for him to be a household name by the general election. And with Clinton being the bad guy and playing like a republican might, she not only is prepping Obama, but she is bringing these bad issues into light well before the election so the public has time to get numb about it. There wont be some surprise scandal released a week before election where Obama doesn't have time to clear it up. posted 03/21/2008 at 10:20:15
It's possible you are correct about the republicans using those tactics. And it is possible you are right Obama could loose. But there is no way Clinton would do better against McCain. There are many tactics they would use against Clinton that Obama elected not to use. Clinton had it easy with Obama. Besides there wasn't as much contrast between McCain and Clinton other than the basic party positions.

We have yet to see a debate between Obama and McCain. McCain seems to slip up allot on war issues. Obama has the chance to hit him hard on this. And if the press favors Obama, as the Clinton supporters suggest, Obama will look like a super star compared to McCain. posted 03/21/2008 at 10:06:11
