Rove's Next Trick -- If Obama Must Answer For His Minister Now, Just Wait to See What the Republicans Will Do To Clinton Inc. in October

"American Idol" Trainwreck: Paula Abdul Judges Song Not Sung (VIDEO)

Been seeing excusatory comments like this all day and it just doesn't wash with me... If you were responsible for judging a competition, would you really base your critique on a rehearsal versus the ACTUAL performance? I wouldn't. A contestant could tank in the rehearsal, work out the problems (which is what rehearsals are for), and perform brilliantly in the live show. Nor do I think she confused her notes between contestants. Bottom line, she just was not "present" , which makes any evaluation on her part useless. posted 04/30/2008 at 23:34:40

Questioning Obama, Neither ABC Moderators Nor Clinton Wore Flag Pin Either

Gawd... what can they find to pick on next? Already we're reduced to reading about Recipegate and now it's flag pins? More than 6 months to go til the elections and this is where we're at? Somebody, please... shoot me. posted 04/17/2008 at 15:37:11

The ABC Debate: A Shameful Night for the U.S. Media

Is there even anything left on the airwaves that can remotely be called a "news" program? They are all really variety shows. The choice of moderators for this debate says it all. While the networks, in the heat of competition, have made some really horrendous format decisions, I also put some of the blame on the viewing public for allowing themselves to be spoon-fed the daily dose of crap meted out in the name of television journalism. Print media isn't much better. posted 04/17/2008 at 15:17:11

Hillary Clinton On Southern Working Class Whites In 1995: "Screw 'Em"

She would have to prove herself TO ME to be a lesser candidate than the other two candidates currently in the running. And she has yet to do so. Listening to all the Obama fans take the debate far beyond the issues and into the gender and ad hominems just isn't going to cut it FOR ME. In fact, I see it as pathetic and unworthy of those who I would probably consider to be otherwise intelligent and rational people. The efforts I see in these blogs to paint her as a monster, someone less than human, not worthy of basic courtesy and consideration are disgraceful and, were they turned on Sen. Obama, there would be outrage. Not only am I not dissuaded by these attacks, they fill me with trepidation regarding what the underpinnings of this lauded "Change" candidate really are. posted 04/18/2008 at 16:11:02
So she made an angry comment in the heat of the moment, in what was thought to have been a private strategy session, because she was feeling a bit betrayed at that moment. So what? Who hasn't been in similar circumstances over something and vented? BFD. The HRC haters really had to get the fine-point tweezers to fish this one out... posted 04/17/2008 at 16:13:33
Really...

While your at it, Mel, why not get a snipe in about the way she parts her hair or the color of her suit or the shade of lipstick? When people are so intellectually impoverished that they are reduced to making ridiculous personal criticism like this, they lose all credibility. You should be embarrassed for yourself... posted 04/17/2008 at 16:10:48

McCain "Family Recipes" Lifted from the Food Network

Get real, People! When do you think was the last time Cindy McCain was actually in a kitchen cooking anything? And who even cares? I'm not a McCain fan, by any means, but this is STUPID. So they decided to do something fuzzy and homey on their web site and put up a bunch of recipes... Squillions of average janes go to those web sites every day and pull off the same recipes. THAT'S why they're on the web! So you can copy them. I do it all the time and make those recipes my own... so WHAT??

But that's not really what's annoying me. What's annoying me is the GOTCHA Game the media keeps playing with ALL these candidates. Same thing in the debate last night. Why are we not discussing IMPORTANT stuff? Like the war, national health care, illegal immigration, etc. etc. etc.

I DON"T WANT TO HEAR CRAP LIKE THIS ANY MORE!!!! posted 04/17/2008 at 15:30:42

":It is well known that Hillary can not get through a sentence in private without uttering a four letter word."

It is? Not well known to me. First I've heard that one. Anytime someone comes at me with a lot of anecdotal yah-yah like that, makes me suspicious. Stopped reading your post right there. Pretty sure the rest of it would be a "how-low'-can'we-go" rip job. Stick to the facts. You'll have more credibility with readers. posted 04/08/2008 at 00:55:32

Wow! Look at the cloud of dust you raised in here, Alec.

It's degenerated into another dog fight and the Republicans don't even have a dog in the fight. I hope, as a Party, we can get it together better than this before the November elections. Otherwise, I'm not even going to bother getting up to go stand in line in the wee hours. Just keep it up, People. posted 04/06/2008 at 21:36:53
So, what does that mean? You don't want another Repub, but if Hillary ends up the candidate you will what? Vote Repub because another 8 years of Repub pillaging, ruthlessness and lack of integrity is preferable? I don't understand your point. posted 04/06/2008 at 21:26:30
While I agree with you in the main, I have a problem with the part about Rev. Wright. I just don't see Sen. Obama as being in line with any of the outlandish remarks Rev. Wright has made. I think the Repubs would love to foster that idea, but it just doesn't hold water for me. I'm Catholic, but I don't swallow the party line hook, line, sinker. It would be like saying, "All Catholics support "funny priests", pro-choice, prohibitions on married clergy, blah blah blah." I think way too much has been made of this Rev. Wright thing. Its a very silly argument. posted 04/06/2008 at 21:11:44

LOLOL!!! That stopped me right at the get-go! Thanks for giving me a good, healthy laugh-out-loud for the weekend! Why ever would you think that? We're such an open, guileless, uncomplicated, well-meaning gender. :D

Thanks for a more unifying post. (Wasn't in love with the last one.) I'm happy to see someone taking a step toward closing the rift between the Obama and Clinton camps. I firmly believe that, if we continue down this contentious road, the Republicans will walk all over us again.

While I DO feel that, in many cases, Hilary has gotten the short end because she is female and it's an easy mark, I wouldn't vote for ANY candidate simply on the basis of their gender or their race. That's just stupid. I agree that either candidate will do well, althought I think Clinton would make a faster start. Whatever... It's time for Democrats to start working as a team.

BTW, belated Happy Birthday! We all posted on the you-know-where, but looks like they all got zapped. posted 04/06/2008 at 18:23:36
