Katie Couric To Obama: People Are "Scratching Their Heads" About Your Opposition To Surge

Couric is going to the right wing crowd. It make sense really since she's getting no traction in the middle. Isn't it about selling ads? Like, "Never trust anyone over ninety". posted 07/23/2008 at 20:53:22

(Liberal) Fear of a Black President

Get stuck in a position? That doesn't make a lot of sense. Far better to base oneself in the most current information. Windmills went away with rural electrification. Now they're back to save us (again). Or maybe not. posted 07/11/2008 at 18:38:41

It's Outrageous That Rove Is Walking Free

We're a nation is crisis. We're stuck in Iraq, immobilized by high oil prices, families are losing their homes.

Focus. Congress needs to focus.

Mr. Rove's insolence is a tempting - oh so tempting - distraction. posted 07/13/2008 at 10:03:16

Jason Burnett, Bush Official Who Just Resigned, To Aid Obama

Jason resigned to work to get Democrats elected. I'm grateful.

"red states - blue states - United States"

In case you missed it, Senator Obama has been saying for years he wants to work with everyone. He's progressive not Progressive. I trust him to lead, not follow an ideological map. There is no map of the future. posted 07/07/2008 at 09:34:04

Vanity Fair's Christopher Hitchens Undergoes Waterboarding

Communism is also an economic system. Summarized:

'from each according to his ability, to each according to his need'.

Socialism is similar. 'from each according to his ability, to each according to his work'.

We boomers argued this in coffee shops before Starbucks.
Then it was 'Democracy vs Communism'. wrong!
the argument should have been either communism vs capitalism' or 'democracy vs authoritarism' posted 07/04/2008 at 09:58:41

The end of private citizens keeping and holding assault rifles is in sight.
Not reasonable for sport or self-defense.

Gun control has in fact been LEGITIMIZED for the first time. Washington DC was validated in the main and shot down in the details. posted 06/27/2008 at 09:47:18

White House Blocking Army's Plan To Overhaul Contracting System

Retired General Staff warned against going into Iraq. I was with those guys.

The greatest "nonsupporter" of the U.S. military is the current administration.
Deprived of armor, hospital, family, and educational benefit these brave men and women tough it out on our behalf, upholding our constitution.

Blaming the military is like blaming a scalpel for surgical malpractice. posted 06/24/2008 at 09:14:35

News Flash: Anchor Stands Against "Unfair" Campaign Spending

Thinking in sports analogy go to the America's Cup. Changing (or holding) tack is critical for victory. Obama has deftly outmanuvered McCain.

Money is power and this decision clearly demonstrates that Obama will be the more effective commander-in-chief.

The desperate John McCain has bungled the money from the beginning.

It does nothing to harm public financing. He's just going a different route and saving $86 million in tax dollars to boot. posted 06/23/2008 at 09:32:59

Obama Accuser Larry Sinclair Holds Stupefying Press Conference

There's something reminiscent of Ralph Ginzberg here, who famously quoted a phony psychiatrist to prove Barry Goldwater was a homosexual. Ralph, too, was arrested and spent some time in prison. The medium is the message.

Emotional Day for Hillary Backers: My Report From the Speech

This primary revealed a lot of flawed process that the Democratic Party can address after November and a lot of us will be watching. I sure wasn't paying attention when this Superdelegate thing was put into place but I intend to join the discussion as this progresses.

Thank goodness for the blogosphere.

Hopefully, the leadership has data miners on board and the good and interesting ideas for positive changes can be elevated. posted 06/09/2008 at 09:59:06

If they don't vote Democrat they join with the AMERICAN RIGHT.

Those 'fine suit boys' are already up 5-4. How does 6-3 or even 7-2 sound? It's not just Roe v Wade. It's a litany of law drawn to limit privilege and empower the mainstream.

Maybe it's not hate. I think it's loyalty. On both sides. posted 06/09/2008 at 09:36:09

Clint Eastwood: Spike Lee Should "Shut His Face", Lee Responds, "We're Not On A Plantation"

So you arrogantly have decided to rescue the community from our collective stupidity, completing the the whole karpman triangle deal.

Perpetrator and Victim AND Rescuer! The triangle spins in abusive social systems and everybody seems justified in their anger. The Victim feels justified to abuse the Perpetrator. The Rescuer gets mad at the perpetrator for abusing and at the victim for giving away power. Abused by the self-righteous victim puts the perpetrator in victim mode and off we go. posted 06/08/2008 at 14:17:31

Jon Stewart Mocks "Hillary Is Inevitable" Punditry

Invoking sexism is crying wolf. Clinton surrogate James Carville made the overtly sexist "cajones" comment.

Hillary could have pointed out that Mr. Carville was simply misguided - female anatomy is more than adequate for the POTUS job.

But she didn't. She instead chose to ride the bump Mr. Carville's comments gave her. posted 06/08/2008 at 14:25:24

Father Pfleger: Ousted from the Rectory, Looking for a New Place

A couple of weeks is not eternity.

I think Rev. Mike got a little carried away. Some time for him to get over himself would be valuable to his ministry.

You've got to have ego to preach. You've got to have humility so personality doesn't obscure the message.

He can use some peace and quiet so God can communicate what to do next - which could be to just keep on keepin on. He's been a righteous firebrand for more than thirty years and valuable to both the community and the church. He'd have been canned long ago if that were not true. posted 06/05/2008 at 09:47:05

There's really no reason for Barack to be concerned. He keeps 'being' the better candidate.
When asked about the so-called damage he says "I'm skinny but I'm tough".

Heck, Mike Huckabee hung around too. It seemed like he was just having fun.

Hillary is expending her relevance. That's up to her.

One more thing: Roe v. Wade is important. McCain's judiciary won't be pro-choice. posted 03/31/2008 at 00:12:27
Regarding speeches:

Barack's Cooper Union speech traced the history of American political economic thinking from Hamilton & Jefferson to the present and talked about specific changes in the regulatory environment to better stave off the kind of crisis we're in now. Hillary just calls the investment side of our economy names and says she'll put 'this-or-that' in place. She's repeating tired, liberal solutions. That's not new and unless she could carry enough senators to congress to override vetos, her solutions won't even get to the hapless middle-class American.

Regarding bad scarves:
The only 'flying rhetoric' so far is about an airplane landing in Bosnia. Of course, 527's will have 527 old stories to repeat 527 times. Oh and by the way, the taxes are still out there. I suppose we can expect to see them on April Fools Day. posted 03/30/2008 at 23:59:13

Rove Already Answered the GOP's Question of Who's the Weaker Democrat

Earl,
You have just contributed yet another false characterization.

"...no holds barred attack on Clinton's personality, record, and demeanor...".
On her record, yes.

Neither candidate has attacked each other's personality OR demeanor.

Plenty of pundits have. And the media-selected, oft-quoted surrogates have.

You pundits need these guys to fight so you don't have to work. And you will all run from accountability as our country in crisis needs to choose our leadership. Is this really an elevation of the discourse? posted 03/26/2008 at 08:33:55
