Osama says Iraq is the central focus, and just like the idiots you are you punch the Iraqi "tar baby" while the people who attacked us are laughing at Bush, Cheney and McCain every day. Osama has made fools of you again.You invade a country, create a democracy with a majority (Shiite) that hate us and Israel, and wipe out the entire Christian and Jewish male population during your glorious "surge", which did nothing but erect walls and segregate the population into religous enclaves. Has anyone ever asked Maliki if he feels Israel has a right to exist? There is no safety and security in Iraq unless you're a Shiite. Did it ever occur to you that no American visitors have visited a church in Iraq? It's because there aren't any left! The next time McCain and Lieberman visit, let them try to find a church or a synagogue to pray in. The same people that are telling you the surge worked are the same ones who cried wolf about WMD and your dumb A** still believes! Unless you have relatives in Iraq(as I do),you don't know McCain is also lying about the success of the surge. All the surge did was segregate the religous communities into Christian, Jewish, Sunni and Shiite neighborhoods. There are no Christian men left, there are no Jewish men left , and half the Sunnis are either dead or in exile in Jordan and Syria. There are fewer American casualties because they left patrolling the segregated neighborhoods to the Shiite army, which means no males who aren't Shiite over 15 years of age are left alive if they're caught. Ask the Christians and the Jews if things are better now. Why doesn't McCain address the issue that Christians can't even go to church? That the Jewish temples are all bombed out? Try being an Iraqi citizen with a cross on your neck and see how many minutes you survive.Why noone covered this aspect of the surge other than 60 Minutes is beyond me. We created this monster. If JImmy Carter had turned over the Shah for trial (the same way we turned over Saddam for trial for killing a lot less people) for killing over 100,000 of his own people, the hostages would never have been taken and Iran would be friendly to us now. Reagan reneged on his promise to turn over the Shah, and the Iranians haven't forgotten. They're afraid we will do what we did in 1953 and have every intention of nuking us if we try again. We need to diffuse this situation by admitting our mistakes and starting over. But it won't happen. As a former Air Force Vet, I can tell you we've known where the Coca plants are in Columbia since the Reagan administration made an agreement not to Napalm the fields when Jimmy Carter was proposing to do so before he lost the election. Those three weren't caught looking for drugs. They were trying to help the Columbians ferret out the rebels. Give me one C130 and a load of napalm and I can solve the cocaine drug problem every growing season. You can't hide coca plants amongst other plants like you can with Marijuana and the fields are easy to find and destroy. Someone somewhere is getting paid and paid well to let these drugs into our country. We can stop the Cocaine at the source any time we want to. Bush and Cheney don't want to. How many relatives do you have living in Iraq? Ask any Christian, Jew or Sunni if they'd thank God to have Saddam back. My relatives there (Sephardic Jews) used to be able to worship in peace under Saddam. So could the Christians. NOT ANY MORE. The "surge" is working because all the neighborhhods have been segregated into religous enclaves. Saddam kept the Shiites in check. Now we have an Iraqi government where the leaders go to Iran for guidance. Before Bush created this mess, there was no Shiite alliance from Terhan to Beirut. Now there is. The Iraqi insurgents don't need any help from Iran. There are enough Shiites that hate America without any Iranian assistance. You probably bought the lie about WMD also. Has Mr. McCain or anyone running for President this year considered the fact that maybe, just maybe if people in the Middle Eastern countries that are our "Allies" were to have free and fair democratic elections there would be no need for terrorism or Al Qaeda? Al Qaeda got it's start when they tried to overthrow the Saudis and replace it with democracy. We, the British and the French quashed the rebellion in 1979. We then train them to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan so the Afghans could vote, and now we're pissed at them 'cause they're pissed at us. Before the Soviet Afghan war, Ben Laden was an Anti-Monarchy revolutionary. Then he turned his sights on the "Godless" Soviets . Now he perceives (correctly so) that the Monarchy can't survive without Western support. We got rid of our king over 200 years ago, why don't we help these people get rid of theirs? Why do we keep doing this to people who would be our friends? If we hadn't overthrown the government of Iran in 1953 and put the Shah in power, the Iranians would be our allies now. I fear for this country I love that took my parents in as refugees. I'm worried that Clinton or Mccain will continue the ignorance that got us into this mess, and I don't know if Obama is ready, even though his heart may be in the right place. After this Rev Wright flap, I fear he has lost any White working class support he may have received. When I try to explain to people about the hatred between Sunni and Shiite, noone seems to care. Iran would never assist Al Qaeda because Al Qaueda is a Sunni organization. It's kind of like if the Ku Klux Klan were to hold a bake sale for the N.A.A.C.P.! They are both Christian organizations,but diametrically opposed to each other. The Shiites in Iran would never lift a finger to help Sunni Al Qaeda. They're both Muslim, but bitter enemies.Just like the "Bloods" and the "Crips" shooting each other for wearing either red or blue. Same mentality.McCain should know that. He and Clinton should have known that when they voted for war against Iraq, they were going to create a democracy that was 70% Shiite, allied with Iran, not the other countries in the Middle East. Bill, the surge is not working. What the surge did (I have relatives in Iraq) was to segregate the neighborhoods in to Shiite, Sunni, Christian, and Sephardic Jewish(what's left of us) enclaves. This seemingly peaceful result of the surge will only last as long as American troops are there to stop the infighting. Despicable as he was, when Saddam reigned, Christians and Jews could worship in peace, as Saddam stopped all infighting with an iron hand. When our troops do leave, whether it's one year,five years or a hundred years, the Shiites will extract revenge on everyone. A war of hatred that has been going on for fourteen hundred years isn't going to stop just because we are there. Saddam kept it bottled up, but George had to upset everything with a deliberate lie about WMD. The Shiites hate the Sunnis because they believe the Sunnis killed Ali, The Prophet Muhammad's Son in law 1400 years ago. They hate the Sephardic Jews because Muhammad's cook was Jewish when he died, and they speculated poisoning which was never proven. People don't realize practically everyone was Jewish before Islam came into being, including Muhammad's family. If you check the lineage,you'll find he and Jesus were distant cousins sharing Abraham as a progenitor.If our leaders weren't so ignorant of Middle Eastern history, we would never have invaded Iraq. Weren't we attacked during a Republican administration? If Limbaugh's misguded premise is true, why weren't we attacked during the Clinton administration? There's no need for Al Queda to attack us again. We've already spent ourselves into irrelevance in the Middle East. It's just a matter of time before we can't afford this war anymore and the Shiites will have control from Tehran to Beirut, and Al Queda can concentrate on it's true goal, the toppling of the Monarchies. If we had supported democracy from the beginning in the Middle East, we wouldn't be in this mess now.
