Breaking...Major Clinton fundraiser defects to Obama!
NBC News has learned that a major fundraiser for Hillary Clinton, former Amb. to Chile Gabriel Guerra-Mondragon is leaving the campaign to join up Barack Obama's campaign. Officially dubbed a "Hillraiser," Guerra-Mondragon raised nearly $500,000 for Clinton's campaign, according to some estimates. He has been informing people inside Clintonworld this week in what's been described as some tough conversations. A formal announcement of a role for Guerra-Mondragon on Obama's national finance committee will be made next week. Guerra-Mondragon was appointed Amb. to Chile by Pres. Clinton in '94 and served until '98.
Among the reasons for Guerra-Mondragon to defect, according to one informed source, was he was uneasy with the tone of the Clinton campaign and was beginning to worry about what this would mean for the general election.
Record turnout is GOOD NEWS for Obama! posted 04/22/2008 at 11:25:14

Where is the sense of nuance, discretion, or measurement in her approach? Why would she feel it's necessary to use the most bellicose language possible to describe our response if Iran attacks Israel? Why would any American want the blood of innocent civilians in the Middle East on its hands simply to protect Israel? If Israelis long to drench themselves in the blood of children and other innocent peoples, then who can stop them from such infamy? But why does Hilary Clinton think that her willingness to drag Americans into the muck and wake of Israel's politics help her with Christian white male voters? It turns my stomach to think that she would ever lead our country into such sickening murder. And now she seems to gloat in the possibility of doing it. posted 04/22/2008 at 08:58:38

Threatening a nation of over sixty million people with obliteration, presumably by nuclear weapons, which would constitute the greatest crime in history, and doing so in an official capacity, as Clinton has done, is absolutely scandalous. Such threats are forbidden under the UN Charter. She is threatening genocide on an unprecedented scale based on a non-existent threat. This shows that she has now morals and is clearly unfit to hold office. All that Iran has ever threatened Israel with is regime change. Furthermore, unlike Israel, Iran does not have nuclear weapons, has declared them immoral and unislamic and vowed never to build them. IAAE inspectors have found no evidence of any such intent. Another important point that needs to be made is that Israel has no mutual defense treaty with the USA and therefore coming to the aid of Israel in the event of an armed conflict is subject to Congressional approval and is not automatic, as would be the case if an attack occurred against a NATO ally, e.g., Estonia. posted 04/22/2008 at 08:11:55

She was clearly threatening Iran with an overwhelming nuclear response on Countdown. That's a very risky thing to be doing.
If you don't believe me, go look up the term "massive retaliation". It is a cold war military doctrine that disproportionate force should be used in response to a conventional attack, including the nuclear possibility.
This is no laughing matter. It is rather shocking that she is threatening nuclear annihilation against Iran so overtly in this primary.

It's Obama's winning campaign strategy......when he says something and his opponents intentionally misinterpret it, he shoves it back down their throats. Instead of doing the traditional song and dance begging forgiveness for a gaffe, he stands his ground. He lets everyone know he ment what he said and that he was right to say it and they were wrong to criticize it.
This is the exact rhetoric he needs to win over rural voters. These are people who vote on Guns, God, and Gays (and abortion). But they've continually voted Republican, and no progress (from their point of view) has been made on those issues. Meanwhile the plant in town closed down, and there are no jobs. So their kid joins the military, and is on his fourth tour of duty in Iraq. If he gets back in one-piece, college won't be covered by the GI bill because of inflation, and the kid is stuck being a greeter at Wal-Mart for the rest of his life. If he's missing limbs, he'll have to fight for basic benefits in his home. If he has mental health issues, he may not get the care he needs and very well could end up homeless.
We want change. It's why Obama will win. And it's why the press will go, "How did that happen? Why were we wrong?" posted 04/12/2008 at 03:44:36

Things suck right now and they aren't going to get better as long as we deny there are any problems. The smiley face campaign BS isn't touching the raw nerve of fear and uncertainty that our people face right now. The fear of losing your job. The fear of not having adequate health care coverage. The fear of leaving our children impoverished. At least someone in this campaign is willing to talk about those fears. Good for him. posted 04/12/2008 at 03:29:32

And what"s worse is when people are expressing their anger then politicians try to say what are you angry about? This just happened " I want to make a point here today."I was in San Francisco talking to a group at a fundraiser and somebody asked how"re you going to get votes in Pennsylvania? What"s going on there? We hear that"s its hard for some working class people to get behind you"re campaign. I said, "Well look, they"re frustrated and for good reason.
