Historian, writer, and community activist in Bangor, ME. Currently working on an MA in History at the U of Maine, Orono. Undergraduate degrees-an Honors BA in History from the U of Utah, and a BBA in Accounting. My current area of research is colonial British America. Other interests include classical studies and the history of the British Empire in the Middle East(especially the mandate period in Palestine and Iraq), politics, foreign policy, and comparative religion.
My previous career was as a corporate financial executive. I spent over 20 years as a Controller or CFO of a number of companies, and was the CEO of a defense manufacturing company with worldwide sales, especially to the Middle East. I sold the company to a larger competitor about 10 years ago.
I am very happily married, with four children--three of whom are now in college. My wife and I live in a beautiful vintage home (1848) in the heart of downtown Bangor.
