As I recall, Saddam Hussein was begging the UN and any nation to come to Iraq and inspect for WMDs shortly before the egregious "shock and awe" . Common sense and rational thought were superceded by war mongering and greed for profit by starting a phony war when enlightened diplomacy could have avoided the waste of $600,000,000,000 and the loss of over 4,000 of our servicemen and women and countless Iraqi citizens. Nine Year Old Girl's Twin Found Inside Her Stomach
There is a another documented case in the Middle East and Great Britain with the same occurence only this time it involved a young boy carrying his twin which had all its parts wrapped into a hair ball. This can't be true. Young evangelicals have benefitted greatly by the republicans. They can be home schooled or with a voucher plan in a religious setting with little contact with public school students, attend a Bible college like Messiah, then on to Pat Robertson's Law School and then gain employment in a faith-based Bush administration. Growing Deficits Threaten Pensions
Bush's "downturn in the economy" is felt thru every facet on our lives. The destruction of the economy with deficits, galactic federal debt mostly incurred on his "watch", heavy borrowing from abroad to finance a phony war for profit driving us to bankruptcy, investments spiraling downward, good paying jobs in mamufacturing lost, energy costs thru the roof, outsourcing. layoffs, unemployment rising, trade imbalances, credit markets drying up, mortages and home ownership in disarray, healt care costs out of sight, etc., etc. The Pennsylvania State Employees Retirement System for teachers hasn't offfered a COLA since 2002 and probably won't again this year. Some older teachers who retired and in their seventies and eighties probably have to borrow to pay health insurance premiums because their pension checks do not cover the cost of the premium for drugs and health costs. The health premium is taken out before a check is issued or a direct deposit is made. Medicare is the povider of first response but back up is need where Medicare doesn't cover. It is not the elderly that concerns me, it is the young people of this country and their economic future that is in peril. As a result of the past seven years of Bushism, this nation has become totally inept and incompetent in all it attempts. We have the worst President, the worst congress that cannot oversee an adequate intelligence gathering agency, the conduct of a superficial war, avoid galactic federal debt and budget deficits, direct an effective State department with common sense diplomacy, run legitimate elections, manage our borders, regulate financial institutions, and the worst of all, the surrender of war making powers granted by the Constitution to any dolt with limited mental capacity. To leave Iraq would result in negative consequences is the myth. Our deluded leader and his enablers want us there for decades to come to waste lives and squander scarce resources to avoid "negative consequences". The reasons or invading Iraq were phony, the "war" is phony and the American backed Shiite government and its constitution which is just in effect a treaty between the United States and what is just a provisional government until something else replaces it, is also phony. The Sunnis now backed by US army and money who were our enemies, Shiites fighting Shiites, Sunnis fighting Shiites, Maliki and his Security force, the Iraqi police and an Iraqi Army trained to be disinterested forces for the welfare and security of Iraq are just more miitias interested in their own narrow goals and no one wants to deal with the 4 million displaced in Syria and Jordan and the 2 million displaced in Iraq. Muqtada al Sadr is the main force in the country but doesn't maintain full control of all Shiite factions. This occupation of ours gets "curiouser and "curiouser" every second. The Destructive Rise of Big Finance
Henry Ford gave capitalism its biggest boost when he initiated the policy to pay his workers enough to buy his products. This is ECON 101 and has been the guiding principle in the growth of the American economy. Spreading wealth is not evil, the working, purchasing public must have the money to buy the goods and services produced by our corporations and businesses in order for profits to be made. This factors are intertwined and dependent on each orhter for success and progress. America chose to move away from these economic laws during the Reagan administration in favor of "voodoo economics", " trickle down", the Laffer Curve and deregulation and the Bush administration expanded these false dogmas into recession or maybe worse. To return to the wonderful days of pre-Reagan is near impossible with the galactic public and private debt, a dysfunctional economy and government, endless war pilfering the treasury, the loss of our manufacturing base and 3 million jobs with it. I recall during the farm problem during the Reagan adminstration just after he destroyed the Air-traffic controllers and the airlines, He said that "we should keep the grain and export the farmer". It didn't take long for Matthews to "spin" this "defining moment" in the disastrous Bush administration, continuing his insipid role as apologist for Bush. The loud negative reaction of the crowd to Bush as he threw the ball was equally matched by the silence of the MSM ignoring the fact that finally a spontaneous public outrcry against seven years of corruption in the highest office in the land was seen and heard by a good portion of the general public mostly via the internet. I was waiting for Jay Leno to lend his views, but he didn't say anything. Iraq Fighting Underscores Power Struggle
In guerilla warfare there are many lulls, truces, quiet periods in order for the "guerillas" to reorganize and rearm against the government backed forces. This is the strategy, tactics and logistics that worked against the British in America, the US in Viet Nam, the French, British, Soviet Union and now the Americans and their agents in the current debacle in the Middle East. AL-Sadr's cease fire announced about six months ago that ended with the current eruption was just as predictable as the the failure of George Bush's presidency. The decision to invade Iraq based on lies, deceit and chicanery for the purpose of greed and profit and without the full knowledge of the history of centuries of factional strife and religious fundamentalism in the Middle East is testament to the fact that this administration and its current disasters at home and abroad are willing to continue the senseless war rather than accept responsibility and blame for a blunder that will live in "infamy" in the records of history. The CID, Criminal Investigation Division of the US Army was to begin investigations into fraud, corruption, bribery and theft over a year ago and did make arrests and convictions relating to improper and illegal contracts, bribery and theft of US funds in Iraq. The lack of real accounting of funds used by the military and the Bush representatives in Iraq has been a scandal of egregious proportions. It is difficult to follow the trail of misfeasance and malfeasance because the media has no interest and bears no responsibility in maintaining an on-going review and report on the corruption and misuse of tax money squandered in Iraq. HIs age is no problem. We have had a senile president before and alzheimers never stopped him from him from pretending to be president. All it takes is waking around tenAM- a light breakfast, lunch with "mommie", then a 3 hour nap. Bore the nation with conservative diatribes until 9PM then off to bed. Reagan could be the model for a successful McCain presidency if it were not for a country in recession, maybe depression and a war taking us to the brink of bankruptcy. Bush should have been impeached for gross negligence for ignoring the briefings on al Qaeda by the Clinton administration, the 52 warnings sent to the airlines on high jacking and the PDB a month before we were atttacked which then became criminal negligence when nearly 3000 of our citizens were killed on American territory and valuable property destroyed. You cannot compare this boondoggle in Iraq with our war for independence against an occupying empire, or maybe you can because in Iraq we are the occupying empire. My three brothers served in combat zones in WW2--Omaha Beach at Normandy and the Battle of the Coral Sea and I was drafted int the US Army. There are wars that have to be fought, but this fiasco has no legitimacy. I remember studying history in the grades and the battle of Trenton in which G. Washington defeated the Hessians, hired mercenaries of Great Britain. The economy was booming, 22 million new jobs were added to the rolls, the size of government reduced, a surplus created, the majority of citizens satisfied with the policies and programs of the government and America was respected around the world. With the Bush administration we have the age of " Incompetency and Corruption"--Attack on the country on 9/11 in which gross negligence became criminal negligence by the dolt, and then ignoring the real perpetrators, propagandizing lies, deceit and chicanery to start a phony war for greed and profit killing wounding and maiming tens of thousands and squandering hundred of billions of dollars and growing in the process, increasing the national debt by over 6 trillion dollars in seven years when it took 232 yrs of our previous history to accrue 3 triilion, divided the nation with his style of leadership, always favoring his "base", the economy is in shambles and the budget in deficit again and we are no longer respected around the world and have lost 3 million mfg jobs under Bush.
