Russert Watch 5-11-08: In Which Hillary Surrogates Get Got

And while in the Illinois State Senate, he worked across the aisle to reform a death penalty system that was broken. He passed legislation which required the taping of police interactions in an effort to combat racial bias. He brought healthcare to 150.000 children in the State of Illinois. He received the highest possible rating from Planned Parenthood during each of the 8 years served in the State Senate for the work he did on behalf of a woman's right to choose. He went to North Dakota when a woman's right to choose was in jeopardy, and worked to see that a measure was voted down that would have allowed the State to make it's own laws regarding reproductive rights.

I'm sorry for how bad you must feel that your candidate is going to lose, but Barack Obama is worthy of this job. He has run the best campaign, he has raised the most money without the help of federal lobbyists and PAC's and he has won the most States, pledged delegates, popular vote and as of today, superdelegates.

He'll make a much better president than John McCain and I hope that you will be able to get past this primary season and support him. posted 05/12/2008 at 22:50:20

What a great endorsement. Thank you Rep. Capps. The facts are the facts. Mr. Shaheen, Clinton co-chair in New Hampshire, began the conversation. Google it. Educate yourself. Overcome your Bubba-ness.

We will have a black man as our next president. And you, as well of the rest of us, will be just fine. posted 04/30/2008 at 19:32:55
The first injection of racial stereotyping in this campaign happened when Hillary Clinton's co-chair in New Hampshire gave an interview to a major news publication and stated that if Barack Obama experimented with drugs as a youth, how could we be sure that he was not a drug dealer?

Racism has become more sophisticated in the 21st century, but it exists in full force. I do not believe for one minute that Bill or Hillary Clinton are racist, however I do believe completely that they have injected race in subtle and not so subtle ways. They are desperate to win, and are willing to sacrifice the democratic party in order to feed the insatiable narcissism that they both know so well.

So don't tell me that the Clinton's did not open Pandora's box on this one. They did, and the evil has hovered above us all ever since. posted 04/30/2008 at 16:06:24

Man In Clinton's 'Bitter' Ad Isn't Registered To Vote

Perhaps being stuck in some sort of racial time warp has made it difficult for you to understand modern technology.

Obama Girl is in no way associated with the Obama Campaign. She made a You Tube video in an effort to launch herself toward her 15 minutes of fame. The man featured in the ad which is paid for (hopefully) and supported by the Clinton Campaign told the campaign that he was from New Jersey and voted there on Feb. 5th. They ran the ad anyway. posted 04/16/2008 at 11:50:35
I'm not young, and I have my facts straight. I take issue with your characterization about Hillary bringing "honor and trustworthiness" to our great country, as she has lied about her role in foreign policy in both Bosnia and Northern Ireland. She has lied about her role in domestic policy related to the Children's Health Insurance Program and the Family Medical Leave Act. And she voted for the biggest foreign policy blunder in our nations history by way of the Iraq war.

If you want honesty in government, we need to change the way our government works. Hillary is not that change. posted 04/16/2008 at 11:45:23

The Uncharted: From Off The Bus to Meet the Press

Jay:
You can explain it all you want, but the bottom line is that the invitation was not issued to Mayhill Fowler. It was given to her by an acquaintance, and it indicated that this was a private fundraiser with no press coverage. And if Mayhill is so well acquainted with Barack Obama, she would know that these words, phrased in a most awkward manner, do not reflect the true heart of Barack Obama.

So I could care less if The Huffington Post or Off The Bus or Mayhill Fowler are credited for this story. You are an accessory to an unwarranted character assassination, and now you can live with that. posted 04/15/2008 at 16:06:52

Clinton Under Fire Over False Story Of Health Care Horror

Having worked in multiple ER's since 1982 (which pre-dates the 1986 EMTALA regulations) I have never seen a patient turned away. Even the homeless people who are looking for a warm place to lie down and a meal are not turned away.

Patients do die, but they are not turned away. posted 04/05/2008 at 16:29:56
Read the link to the New York Times article.

Also- Given that Federal law prohibits ER's from refusing care to patient's who can't pay, HRC should have known this story was not true, and they should have verified it before using it.

In Iowa, she used a story about a waitress that struggled financially, and then the waitress came out to the press that HRC had not left a tip. posted 04/05/2008 at 15:44:55
It was only a matter of time before healthcare providers debunked this story. There are federal regulations (EMTALA) that prohibit a hospital ER from refusing care to patients. The law has clearly outlined provisions for the treatment of pregnant women.

Her campaign should have seen this one coming.

Clinton's Push For Popular Vote Win May Not Persuade Superdelegates

Poll: Obama Regains Big Lead In North Carolina

It's ironic that the women who are so defensive of Hillary are willing to vote for someone who will jeopardize a woman's right to choose with the next Supreme Court nomination, continue the war for at least four more years, and make sure that universal healthcare is never passed.

Michigan, Florida, and the L-word

This seems like a very good time to mention the following: More than 250,000 of HRC's current votes have come from Bush Republicans in Ohio, Texas and Mississippi. An asterick is already necessary with regard to Hillary's popular vote totals, and given the fact that the Republicans have their nominee, we can only expect this total to increase.

Hillary has made it very clear that if the path to the White House is not cleared for her, she will make sure that no other Democrat will have a reasonable chance. posted 03/23/2008 at 23:00:49

Is Hillary Positioning for 2012?

The Clinton's have always attempted to destroy anyone who has gotten in their way. It should come as no surprise that Hillary's narcissism is greater than her desire for victory in the Democratic party. She is willing to risk Supreme Court nominations that could overturn Roe v. Wade. She is willing to risk the lives of thousands more Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan. She is willing to allow the all important healthcare issue to sit on the shelf for four more years.

She is the very definition of narcissism. It is an extremely sad time to be a Democrat.

With all of this said, when Barack Obama is running against the befuddled John McCain, it is my hope that the differences will be so pronounced, we will win this election. I don't know of any woman willing to risk Roe v. Wade, the war, and healthcare for spite.

Bottom line, the general election is not about each of us individually. It is bigger than us. We must recognize this. posted 03/23/2008 at 14:46:43

Rush Limbaugh's Involvement With Illegal Cross-Over Voting For Clinton

We must remember this when the Clinton camp wants to argue with Superdelegates using popular vote counts. More than 250,000 republicans in Ohio, Texas and Mississippi crossed over for a day in an effort to add further chaos to the democratic primary elections.

The popular vote counts are tainted, and we can't forget this.

Pennsylvania take note. There is a criminal investigation underway in Ohio for voter fraud. A local PA newspaper interviewed a couple who were both in their 70's. They switched party affiliation in response to the Limbaugh request and plan to vote Clinton in the upcoming primary.
