Clinton Protest Voters for McCain

So now Hillary Clinton's supporters want to blackmail her way to the Vice-Presidency!??!?!?!?!?! Hillary's own behavior and cheapshots have made it nearly impossible for Obama to select her as his VP and maintain ANY credibility whatsoever! From day 1, she could have argued her case on the issues, without questioning his fitness or whether he had crossed some imaginary Commander-in-Chief threshold --- which she emphasized McCain already had, by the way.

Hillary's old-style tactics and political baggage aside, having her on the ticket would validate every single attack she launched against him throughout this contentious primary season. By following a scorched earth policy with the nomination as the only positive endgame for her, Hillary has made it such that her selection as a candidate for VP would fatally undermine EVERY SINGLE ARGUMENT of the Obama campaign for why he is the better candidate. She left no wiggle room at all!

And her supporters should understand that. When you put all the chips on the table and pull out all the stops, you have to be ready to walk away with nothing if the result doesn't pan out as hoped. Hillary saw no justification for holding back her Republican-style attacks on Obama because she was convinced of her inevitability but that is the consequence of burning bridges. posted 05/16/2008 at 10:01:53

Tennessee GOP Attacks Michelle Obama, Obama Camp Hits Back

Dear Michelle. You are a courageous and intelligent American who loves her country and we would be lucky to have you as our First Lady! I understand that your words were poorly chosen but I also understand some of the inner pain that they reveal. Fortunately for all of us who make up the glorious fabric of America, we share your pride at the promise that is before us that our great country will take new strides toward becoming that more perfect union that we all dream of once your husband becomes our president. Our forefathers would be proud of you and of Sen. Obama because although our forefathers' shortcomings reflected the inequities of their time, their ideals as exhibited in our founding documents point to a progressive spirit and consciousness that is in accord with the America we are becoming today. Study: Obama-Backed Illinois Gas Tax Holiday Actually Worked

Perhaps you did not hear about Hillary's "testicular fortitude"... Google it!

The problem with Hillary is that she does not ADMIT past mistakes. She only disavows previous views and pretends she never held them. Big difference. posted 05/06/2008 at 12:30:23
I meant barrel of crude not gas. posted 05/06/2008 at 11:38:07
That's not true! The tax holiday would come in for this summer. And she would try to tax the windfall profits in 2009 once the Dems. had the White House. It would NEVER happen before then. So no, the tax holiday is not dependent on the windfall tax proposal going through. Hillary just hopes that the windfall tax would EVENTUALLY cover the shortfall to be incurred this summer... if this tax holiday were instituted. posted 05/06/2008 at 11:37:10
If the goal is to bring down the price of gas by PENNIES, then the tax holiday worked.

If the goal is to figure out why in the hell gas has gone north of $3 per gallon and is on the cusp of going to $4 a gallon, then this band-aid approach is obviously not the "solution" it claims to be.

A comprehensive approach would seek to bring prices back down by DOLLARS not PENNIES!!!!! posted 05/06/2008 at 11:34:21
I believe the study but it's not a negative story. I think it proves the point that it's a false "solution" at best, decreasing the prices by a tiny amount.

BTW, why are Clintonites so prone to talk about gonads and scatalogical functions? Are you all 7th grade boys? posted 05/06/2008 at 11:27:38

Your flip flop accusation soooo middle-school. HAHAHA! posted 05/06/2008 at 11:25:14
People, don't get distracted by the shiny objects!!!!

If the goal is to make gas affordable again, even by the numbers described above, the holiday was a failure. Only 60% of the tax savings were passed on to the consumers. Meaning that 40% of the tax savings was kept by the companies. Applying those numbers to our situation today... If we took a "holiday" from the 18 cents per gallon tax, we could expect to actually save 8 cents or so based on this study. So instead of $30 saved at the end of the 3-months, even by this article's measure of "success", we are talking about an actual savings of $18!!!!! Or the equivalent of 5 GALLONS OF GAS FOR THE ENTIRE PERIOD!!!!!

This is a bandaid "solution"... I don't want to get hung up on who can bring prices down by 8 freakin' cents for the summer when GAS WENT UP 5 CENTS LAST WEEK ALONE.

When we start talking about means to bring gas prices down by a dollar or even 50 cents or so per gallon, then I'll start believing that something is being done!!!!!

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!! In 2001, a barrel of gas was $20... It is now $120!!! A few pennies per gallon only makes a difference in terms of 300,000 jobs LOST and stalled infrastructure and road repairs. posted 05/06/2008 at 11:21:55

"Watergate-Era Judiciary Chief of Staff: Hillary Clinton Fired For Lies, Unethical Behavior"

http://www.northstarwriters.com/dc163.htm

An excerpt:

Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedy"s chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair. When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation " one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman"s 17-year career.

Why?

"Because she was a liar," Zeifman said in an interview last week. "She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality." posted 05/05/2008 at 02:23:09
The problem is not whether Hillary Clinton is smart or smart enough... it's clear she has done her homework in studying the issues. The problem is that Hillary is counting on the American public NOT being smart enough to see through the bullshit and smokescreens.

And for the record, I have a 140 I.Q., graduated from Harvard Law School and passed the NY Bar and FL Bar on one try... unlike Mrs. Clinton who had lousy law school grades, failed the DC bar, and took her DC gigs with the Children's Defense Funds and on the Watergate investigation and hightailed it to Arkansas to ride on Bill Coattails NOT because of a desire for public service but because she did not have top law firm offers lined up AFTER SHE WAS FIRED FROM HER WATERGATE GIG.

Don't believe the hype folks! A Supreme Court clerkship and big law firm job were NEVER in Hillary's future... unlike Barack Obama who made real sacrifices to champion working class families. posted 05/05/2008 at 00:47:46

Bill has ZERO CREDIBILITY among black Americans right now.

What Bill doesn't seem to understand is that blacks were always very cognizant of all of his faults and moral failings. It's not that they thought he walked on water or were hypnotized by his political skills. His ONLY SAVING GRACE all these years was that blacks felt he was either colorblind or that he even went beyond colorblind and actually APPRECIATED black culture/history and RESPECTED black Americans.

With his actions throughout the primary and obvious disdain that blacks did not "fall in line" with Hillary as planned, that image of him is irreparably shattered. The TRUST is gone. Forever. posted 04/26/2008 at 11:46:05
Exactly. I don't understand the media narrative that only blacks are angry about Clinton's disgusting behavior. Obama could have had 100% of the black vote and would be nowhere in this fight... His success as borne out by all the exist polls is due to a strong coalition of people from all races and walks of life. Maybe Clinton's believing the hype and thinks she will only have to made amends to blacks folks... if so, she is sadly mistaken. posted 04/26/2008 at 11:23:14
The media keeps harping on "backlash" from African Americans if Hillary Clinton finds a way to steal the nomination or succeeds in damaging Obama chances in the general election in a "murder-suicide" that would leave the door open for her in 2012... as if African Americans are the only Obama supporters who would turn away from Clinton's ugly tactics.

What the media doesn't seem to get --- gasp!--- is that the of support and devotion from Obama's non-black supporters runs just as deep. It's not just a matter of making up for lost black votes!

If that's Hillary's real plan, we are in for McCain for the next four years, followed by 8 more bleak years of Romney or Huckabee. Hope that would make Hillary happy! I'm guessing yes cause she's been behaving more like a Republican everyday... going back to her roots now that she's in a desirable tax bracket thanks to her husband's "speeches/just words" selling out the American people's interest around the world.

I am not suggesting that these shootings prove that the police officers involved were out-and-out racists. Can someone remind me of the last time an unarmed, NON-BLACK person was gunned by police in a hail of bullets? I personally am finding it hard to remember even one case. In these cases involving black suspects, the protocol seems to be shoot first --- and repeatedly at that --- and ask questions later!

And no, the fact that minority (Latino and black) officers were involved does NOT negate my point. I am not suggesting that these shooting prove that the police officers involved were out-and-out racists. But I am contending that they have internalized some of society's subtle and not-so-subtle cues that some lives are more valued than others. And the consequences for getting things wrong often differ widely depending on the victim.

With similarly situated white suspects, it seems more common that police officers err on the side of caution and holding back their fire... sometimes at their own peril. With black suspects --- perhaps because there is often no"cost" for being wrong as evidenced by this not guilty verdict --- "mistakes" seem to happen a lot more. And I use scare quotes because I am still finding it hard to swallow that 50 bullets can be fired and guns reloaded and unloaded again without anyone noticing the glaring absence of return fire. posted 04/25/2008 at 10:01:07

He is truly selling his soul for a shot at the presidency. posted 04/24/2008 at 10:30:42

AmericaBlog: Hillary, Unlike Obama, Only Talks About Gays To Gay Press

I'm soooo OVER Hillary AND name-trolls! posted 04/24/2008 at 17:35:56
I know... I should have resisted. But sometimes it's just TOO easy! LMAO! By saying "that is being smart", Rosita reminded me that people who live in glass houses... should use their neighbors' bathroom! posted 04/24/2008 at 02:16:47
I'm calling Bullshit on that excuse! Although DADT may have been a "compromise", it implicitly legitimizes homophobia. In the same way that laws against interracial marriage in the South could only be enforced if the bride and groom told the truth about their racial identity. posted 04/23/2008 at 22:31:10
And since you are clearly a smart human "been" yourself ---perhaps even a MENSA member--- we shall all defer to you, O wise one! posted 04/23/2008 at 20:34:13
Not surprising. Her husband did leave "Don't Ask Don't Tell" as his legacy. posted 04/23/2008 at 20:32:42
Yes, Ellen is mainstream. But because Ellen is so open with her life and sexuality, her audience is likely welcoming or at least tolerant of gays and/or LGBT issues. No risk there! posted 04/23/2008 at 17:47:00

Clinton On Target To Raise $10 Million In 24 Hours

Any chance she might pay those overdue invoices from the small business vendors she's been stiffing for the past few months?

FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE SICK AND TIRED OF THE NEGATIVITY AND BOTTOMFEEDING OF THE CLINTON CAMPAIGN, GIVE WHAT YOU CAN:

We, the people, own the Obama campaign! We march on to victory in the primaries and in November!

Obama Camp: Using Popular Vote Metric Just Ain't Gonna Work

Maybe Hillary is looking at an original draft of the Constitution, sans Amendments. 'Cause the only way for her to "lead" in the popular vote at this point is if she announces yet a different "metric" that applies the 3/5 rule.

It's simple people... if it weren't for abolition, HILLARY WOULD BE THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE ALREADY! DUH! posted 04/23/2008 at 23:28:53

If You Will It, It Is No Dream: In Defense of an Obama-Clinton Ticket

She would not be a good VP. She would try to undermine him any way she could and would probably not be above framing him or otherwise setting him up for impeachment in order to get herself in the Oval Office. They say keep your enemies close but not in this case. Obama should trust her as far as he can throw her. posted 04/23/2008 at 09:22:47

Exit Polls: Obama Loses To Clinton Among 'Bitter' Low-Income Voters

Why don't you sent a little note with that exact message to your leader, Hillary "Huckabee 2.0" Clinton. posted 04/22/2008 at 22:09:59
I actually thing Barack did BETTER with the BITTER folks than expected. People seem to forget that the reason he was asked about the "bitter vote" in the first place is that he hadn't been able to capture a good share in previous contests. So while the Clinton camp or pundits may try to say that he didn't get the vote of that demographic BECAUSE of the comments, I think the result tonight (57-43 in favor of Clinton among those earning less than $50K) actually reflects that the "bitter" comments actually had very little impact, if any. posted 04/22/2008 at 21:58:33

Pennsylvania Exit Polls: Primary Results

The joke is that cockroaches and Cher will be the only creatures that will survive nuclear armageddon. Let's add Hillary to that list. No wonder she's trying to start a nuclear war with Iran... she thinks she'll survive! Where's that can of RAID??? Or Al Gore's big black boot! posted 04/22/2008 at 23:50:38

Pennsylvania Expectations: Clinton, Obama Set The Bar

A Win is a Win... UNLESS it is a WIN by Sen. Obama, or from a caucus, or from a primary where she got less votes, or any myriad of LAME ASS EXCUSES!!!

Hillary... GO AWAY and take your husband with you! We are tired of your BS and spin and of you talking out of both sides of your mouth while obviously believing that the American public to be too dumb or too distracted to hold you accountable.

Your entire campaign for the last few weeks as been an appalling exercise in elitism and condescension! posted 04/22/2008 at 17:34:30
