"American Idol": And Then There Were Two

Um...Thanks a lot! It's 9:49PM PST, I have AI on the telly right now and you just blew it for me. I mean you people couldn't wait TEN MORE MINUTES for us on the west coast?! What total B.S.! I'm really ticked. Obviously, it's not a huge surprise who was voted off; nevertheless there's no need to blow the ending. Really stupid, people. posted 05/15/2008 at 00:53:23

Sue Simmons (Video): New York NBC Anchor Screams "What The F*** Are You Doing?" In On-Air Promo

Yep. My feelings exactly. I just feel these newsanchors are all ego maniacs. They put on these sedate and even friendly faces, but the truth is they're outta their minds with fear and a need to control. I don't mind the cursing, but I deplore the context. I'm glad the monster was exposed and I hope she learns from it. posted 05/13/2008 at 18:03:10

Carly Simon On Painful Past And James Taylor Ignoring Her

I am so surprised to learn this. It makes me really despise Taylor because for him to do this reveals enormous weaknesses in his character. How tacky, inhuman and cheap. They had children for God's sake! Jeez. posted 05/13/2008 at 00:49:55

Obama's Reverend Wright Press Conference (VIDEO)

Yeah, but Andrew, c'mon! Let's be fair. The media threw the bait, but Wright did not have to bite. If he was half the man of faith he claims to be, he'd be free of the temptation to respond. Wright's ego did not just show up yesterday. I imagine the past few months of "retirement" has brought forth in him a lot of restless confusion. Without getting into a whole psychological analysis, let's just say that man has a lot of personal dragons to slay. Everyone is challenged and tested. Some respond with strength and grace (Barack); others with anger, blame and arrogance (guess who?).

Watching Barack today clearly still reeling from shock and trying to contain his emotions was very hard. I found myself choking up. How many of us have felt that sense of disappointment, hurt and betrayal? How many of us had to give a national speech about it as a presidential candidate? I don't find the story in itself unfair, nor do I blame the media for dissecting it (although flashing Wright's face on camera every ten minutes is absurd). The truth is this did not have to happen were if not for the blind arrogance of a single, bitter man. Poor Barack. posted 04/30/2008 at 03:05:57

The ideal of your argument does not support the reality. This is America - we are fast and loose with sexuality as well as prudish. Unfortunately, nudity is tied with sexuality in every single case. It does no good to disregard that fact. posted 04/29/2008 at 00:40:55

Jeremiah Wright At National Press Club: Watch Video

I said it and I stand by it: Arrogant jerk and egomaniac.

That's being kind. posted 04/29/2008 at 21:35:43
This idiot makes me choke. What an egomaniac! What an arrogant jerk! This is no preacher man. Calling him a preacher or minister is disrespectful to those actually serving God - this jerk is only serving one person and that's himself. He does not represent the thousands of outstanding Black churches across this country, no way, no how! He ended up on the pulpit because he needed a stage. His ego probably feels starved without the adulation it was used to receiving. Being retired is clearly driving him nuts because the idiot obviously cannot exist without an audience. Well, he has one now, doesn't he? I just marvel at these cowards who think nothing of clapping at every stupid things he spits out. Says a lot.

Hopefully, Obama is finally seeing him for what he is. I feel truly sad for Barack. I'm sure he feels fooled by a false friend. Wright is a jerk. He will not be achieving the grace of humility in this lifetime, and this experience is as much a test for him as it is, unfortunately, for Barack. posted 04/29/2008 at 00:21:57

Philly: Ugly Clinton Victory Rally

Gen, I was just ready to type down my reaction to this piece when I saw you already wrote pretty much everything I needed to say. So thank you. I am also an Obama supporter and feel the same annoyance or even outrage at these big, fat babies crying about their superior candidate. No doubt many of these idiots have never bothered to vote; now suddenly they have it all figured out in their tiny heads just how this election ought to play out. Maybe they should stay out altogether. posted 04/24/2008 at 20:07:44

Whoopi: "Part Of Me Wants Mccain To Win"

Har! ;D

I feel slightly mean now for lashing out at her because of couse she makes a great point. The damn repugs should have to pay for something! Or maybe I should keep my anger channeled towards all these idiots who voted for Bush and are now burning torches at the government. I mean what the hell took you all so long to get a clue? Those ignorant voters are maybe even more to blame for this mess. posted 04/24/2008 at 01:19:01
I just have to say when Whoopi first started I was in awe of her patience and calm. I saw a woman who was wise and not easily ruffled or swayed. Over time however I see less of that woman and more of a hypocrite. She CONSTANTLY interrupts and then has a hissy fit when someone does the same to her. She's is intelligent but doesn't have quite the same skills when it comes to clearly explaining herself. Whoopi often sounds muddled and cloudy. Although I can only imagine how stressful it is to have to debate your opinions every freaking morning, I still wish she'd stop, take a breath, and go back to the fresh Whoopi she once was. That's my opinion anyway. posted 04/23/2008 at 20:37:58

Dancing With The Stars Results: The Oscar-Winner Goes Home

I'm going to be a little catty here and say "hurrah!" I haven't watched this season, but I do not have warm feelings for Marlee. Why, you ask? I ran into Ms. Matlin once at a bookstore. Or actually I believed I was observing a "normal" mother with a group of adorable kids. As I'm wont to do when I see kids I smiled at the mother and said something friendly. Suddenly, this woman turned to me with such dagger eyes - as if I just asked her how much for one of the kids! She had such a look of dripping hatred I was stunned. After a few moments I recognized her. I realized she must have thought I was gawking at her celebrityness. I was not. From that moment on Marlee and her dagger eyes were dead to me.

Ding, dong, Marlee. Ding-dong! posted 04/23/2008 at 03:47:38

Growing Up Green! - Fulfilling a Mission and Empowering Parents for a Healthier Next Generation

Dierdre, you are doing such excellent work. I thank you so much for your tireless efforts. People need to know what they are doing to their bodies, children, pets, and of course our beautiful Mother Earth. I just spent the last eight years of my life battling environmental illness. The first six years I was misdiagnosed with anxiety and stress. I was prescribed a lot of incorrect meds as a result. It wasn't until 2002 that I was able to pinpoint the real culprit - and I did that on my own with the internet! Not one doctor was able to figure it out. Now that I've cleaned out my system and my way of living to green and clean, I can't help but worry about everyone else. So I applaud you very much indeed. I know you've been doing this a long time, girlfriend. :D posted 04/23/2008 at 03:55:51

The Starving Dog Artist: A Diagnosis

Step into the present you fool. Your argument is outdated and as stale as your compassion. Humanity exists for both man and beast - it is not mutually exclusive. And don't condescend to teach anyone here about what "performance art" is. No one asked for clarification. They object to this TORTURE. Really, who among us is dumb enough to call a criminal act art? You? Then indeed you're the one in need of education. posted 04/21/2008 at 01:42:55

Regarding The Tom Joyner Morning Show

Newsflash! Tavis can say and do what the hell he wants. If he wants to support Clinton or Bugs Bunny, he is entitled to do so. Reading some of the criticisms here is pretty depressing. I mean is every black person expected to fall in line and not diverge. I don't get that. Who wrote those rules? And how is it a negative for Obama? Is he losing votes? Are people jumping ship to go with Clinton because of anything said by Tavis? Doesn't look like it. So where's the harm; were's the danger to the campaign? Right! Nowhere - only in your heads.

To his harsher critics: Zip it and leave the man be. Tavis is going to keep on keeping on whether you approve or not. And I think Obama will be just fine too. posted 04/12/2008 at 23:08:24

SNL Returns: Clintons, Dodd And Christopher Walken's Tongue

Can we all just agree this show has become complete and utter crap since Molly, Cheri, Wil, Chris and others in that group left? SNL has been on it's knees since then! Everybody references Amy as some comic genius but the truth is she's just merely funny - nothing more. There are a lot of funny people around, it's not especially unique. What Molly, Cheri and, of course, Gilda could bring to a character far surpasses anything Amy succeeds at doing.

The fact these people spend a week writing and producing all these skits and still cannot see how they completely fall flat just boggles my mind. Lorne the so-called mastermind has somehow become irrelevant now. He needs to retire, just go away. Seth (head writer) needs to be fired. They have a decent group of performers at the moment; if only the writing was something to be proud of. Far from it. posted 04/06/2008 at 16:35:01

Madonna In Vanity Fair: Disses New York In Profanity-Laced Interview

Yup, yup. Agree. Also, the more Madonna talks the more she proves how far away from humility she truly is. Madonna may coat her language in this elevated, new age woo-woo stuff (which I totally am a part of), however she still can't seem to control her ego's need to be seen and stroked. It always baffles me how people can work so hard to gain enlightenment - look how she's aggressively immersed herself in kabbala - and yet miss the glaring obvious.

I take nothing away from her humanitarian work; only it's so difficult to like a woman who's ego is always screaming "feed me." Ick. posted 04/01/2008 at 00:36:37

AP: Why Wasn't The Truth Good Enough For Hillary?

It's both isn't it? But you make a valid point. The question then becomes if Hillary is such a smart lady (and leader) why does she insist on surrounding herself with the poorest of choices in advisors. It's what finally made me change my vote. Do As I Say, Not As I Do: Bill Richardson Explains Why The Other Superdelegates Should Vote With Their States

I don't begrudge Richardson his choice at all (esp since it happens to be mine). But I still view him as an opportunist. He just really irks me. What bothers me most is his stance with Latinos. Never once have I heard him advocating what Latinos ought to do for themselves. My own grandfather came here with next to nothing. He never whined or complained about work or struggle. He never criticized America or resented that he had to work very hard. This grateful man built a house for his family, taught his children English along with Spanish, and sent them out with a deep love and appreciation for America. I don't see that enough these days. I see more people complaining about what they deserve and expect of this country. But what happened to, "Ask not what your country can do for you...?" I firmly believe if someone wants to settle here (or in any new country) and feel that sense of belonging they need to take a page from those immigrants who actually have a love and desire to give something back. Or is that asking too much? posted 03/25/2008 at 01:26:55
