I'm from the Chicago suburbs in Illinois and moved to north central Illinois farm country about 20 years ago. I am a Viet Nam era veteran, although I was stationed in Europe at the time. I graduated with bachelors and masters degrees from Northern Illinois University. By profession, I am a self employed environmental consultant. I have been married for 36 years and both my wife and I are long-time progressive Democrats.
