I'm a physically beat up 'extreme sport' athlete who competed in free-style skiing and big-wave surfing before there were 'X-games' and/or Olympic acceptance. That meant I couldn't make a living playing.
Spent 13+ years as an Athletic Trainer in collegiate and professional sports taking care of other athletes' injuries. Got a World Series ring out of it and became friends with many of my boyhood heroes.
Retired in '89 and started a computer consulting specializing in network administration and IT design & management for micro-businesses (1-15 computers).
Was forced to dissolve the business after Traumatic Brain Injuries in '01 & '03 combined with 30+ years of severe chronic pain, (reference above mention of 'beat up'), resulted in irreversible disability.
