I am afraid I have to disagree. This election, like all elections in recent history is going to be determined by economics. Sadly the American electorate is simply too selfish to care about anything but their own financial well being. In fact I would argue that the main reason why previous supporters of the war are now concerned about the war is because of the financial drain on the U.S. economy.
Given the financial catastrophe that the Bush Administration will leave behind, the best running mate would be someone who has impeccable economic credentials. That is why I support Warren Buffet for Vice President. If anyone can help get us out of this mess it is Buffet and the added benefit is that the Republicans would have know idea how to attack a man of his standing.

While it is undeniable that providing college education to Americans is beneficial to America, I must admit that I see little reason to treat soldiers returning form Iraq any different than any other young persons.
This is my dilemma. Unlike in the WWII when conscription determined who went to war we now have an all volunteer army. That means you as an individual can choose to support the war by enlisting or not. By the very act of enlisting or re-enlisting you are saying that you support the ill-conceived and miss-managed war in Iraq. So why is it that a young man/woman who supported this war be given a place in a college in preference to someone who opposed the war and therefore refuses to enlist?

Given the Iranian sites are heavily fortifide it may need a nuclear weapon to destroy them.

Not true! Israel has on more than one ocassion indicated that if it beleive that Iran is continuing to pursue nuclear weapons it will attack. Now given that Israel believes that Iran is trying to develop nuclear waepns and just resently attack a supposed nuclear facility in Syria I do not doubt for a second that it will not attack Iran, do you? Given the Iranian sites are heavily fortifide it may need a nuclear weapon to destroy them.
Now assuming that Israel attacks Iran do you really think the that Iranians are not going attempt to counter attack? It is this escalation that could easly result in Israel turning to is nuclear weapons for more than just destroying the suspect weapon sites.

I too missed the debate and was fianlly able to watch it today. To my mind while the debate looked like it was run by the Republican party I thought that Obama did OK. It was not his greatest night but it was just not that bad given the rubbish that was thrown at him.

As an Obama supporter I agree that Olberman has been over the top on his criticism of Clinton and for your information I do not take special joy in watching Hillary getting hammered. I also do not believe that FOX has been Fair and Balanced in its reporting as Governer Rendel has suggested nor do I think this debate was either balanced or constructive.

I remember after 9/11 I had the courage to say that the war in Iraq was a bad idea that would hurt us in our fight against terrorist.
