I'm an historian who also works as a salesman (You'll note that the NY Times rarely has more than a column or two of "Historians Urgently Needed" ads).
An Irish-American Jew (Yes, Virginia: We DO exist!), I've always considered myself to be more Irish (I'm a long-time activist in Irish-American political and cultural causes), culturally, than Jewish... But the rise in anti-Semitism has caused some re-think in that arena!
I'm also a movie buff and a fanatical collector of Pez dispensers!
