LIES & INTIMIDATION ABOUT HEALTH CARE AND CLIMATE:

Although the right to free political speech is expansive according to the laws of the United States, it has never been interpreted to be unlimited. Lobbyists aginst proposed legislation reforming health care and pollution from energy industries -- legislation which is supported by strong majorities of citizens -- have abused their freedom of speech, violating the rights of their opponents in at least two distinct ways.

First, lying about representing civil rights groups and other advocacy groups has the effect of nullifying the will of each member of each group who disagrees with the forgers, depriving the members of the practical value and purpose of their right to free speech. Forging letters purporting to be from an activist group and advocating in those letters for policies abhorrent to members of that group is criminal. In addition to mail fraud, it deprives those group members of their right to free political speech, thereby violating Civil Rights Law, Section 241 of Title 18. Second, threatening violence to those who exercise this right, or organize to peaceably assemble to exercise their right to free speech as a community is intended to deprive SEIU and other health care reform advocates of the right to free political speech altogether.

A thorough policy debate requires honest consideration of all viable options. But due to corporate lobbying, especially by insurance corporations, national single payer health care has not even been analyzed by the Congressional Budget Office, which cannot take any action except by the order of Congress.

THERE IS NO OFFICIAL ESTIMATE OF THE COSTS OR SAVINGS OF SINGLE-PAYER HEALTH CARE BECAUSE CONGRESS HAS NOT ASKED FOR ONE BECAUSE CONGRESS IS IN THE POCKET OF CORPORATE INSURANCE.

Replace Coal Plants with Concentrating Solar Power
Coal plants can still be used, but coal itself is absolutely unnecessary as a source of energy now thanks to Concentrating Solar Power, which works by superheating a liquid then *turning a turbine* just like a coal plant. Every coal plant can be converted to a solar-powered source of electricity!
http://cleantechnica.com/2009/04/01/can-concentrating-solar-power-outshine-fossil-fuels/

Photovoltaic solar panels -- the kind on house rooftops -- provide electricity less expensively per KWh than coal, nuclear or any other conventional source used by utilities, they just do not have such vocal, over-funded spokespeople because they are not subject to centralized, corporate domination -- there is no opportunity to pull an Enron on us with solar photovoltaic ("solar PV" to many installers and retailers). Government should be going to solar and wind power, not in addition to coal, petroleum and nuclear power, but instead of those. Nuclear corporate interests have had their chance to clean up their mess and proven that they didn't consider it profitable. Fine, We the People will do it ourselves. No government assistance is required. All I expect of my government is that it takes coal, petroleum, nuclear, and corn fuel off their corporate welfare permanently, by statute which should also state that absolutely no fuels made from any other food will ever be purchased by the government from anybody under any circumstances. There is just no excuse.

Now that I've discovered the joy of 'blogging, organizing and consolidating the above have been added to a to-do list that is already longer than Hale-Bopp's tail. It's much better than being bored.

Low taxes on the rich encourage them to hoard, ie "get richer" while spending just enough to cover their expenses, not expand their businesses and not _compete_ aggressively with other businesses in their sphere, so "the poor get poorer." High top marginal tax rates stabilize the economy and low top marginal tax rates cause the first Great Depression and the W Depression.

The only aspect of clean energy that really is still more costly than its competitors is all-electric automobiles, and that is just because the existing auto manufacturers haven't been pressured by the market (that's us) to try. A good option is replacing the dinosaur burning engines in all small cars with 100% electric motors, with 200 to 300 mile ranges depending on how fast you drive them.
