First Victory on GI Bill Today

It will be fascinating to see how Obama handles it. If he votes for it, he's voting another $170 Billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. If he votes against it, he;'ll be resigning the veterans to a lifetime of poverty.

I'll be watching to see how he hopes his way out of this one. posted 05/15/2008 at 17:48:13

Not The Ticket

I don't know that he would be a great pick for attorney general...has Edwards ever held a prosecutor's job? Has he ever managed a large staff, nonetheless a very large arm of government? I'm not sure a smile is enough. After all, even Gonzalez could smile. posted 05/15/2008 at 17:54:47
A VP slot was exactly what Edwards was waiting for and he wasn't disappointed. Truth is that Obama needs him to avoid having Hillary foisted on him by the party anyway. They think he can attract the angry, bitter, "racist" voters. How soon the lessons from 2004 are forgotten.

I'm still hoping McCain will choose Hillary for VP. Then she could have her revenge on the Dem party and Obama and Edwards would be as irrelevant as Dukakis and Mondale for good...bye bye! posted 05/15/2008 at 16:05:28

Hillary on the Bottom?

Even better, Obama could just lie and say that he did offer, but the Clinton's were so racist that they couldn't even look at him. Most people will believe it, because they believe anything that Obama says.

Massive Blowback To NARAL's Obama Endorsement

Now that is awesome... posted 05/15/2008 at 15:52:23
I can't say I'm surprised. Bill Clinton a long time ago said that he wanted to make abortions safe, legal and rare. Obama, on the other hand, supports leaving aborted babies who are born alive to die in the trash can without medical care.

Since NARAL doesn't gain any power if abortion is rare, it's not surprising they would go with Obama, despite how disgusting and inhuman the process becomes. posted 05/15/2008 at 15:50:13
It's quite possible that Clinton supporters have simply realized that a John McCain presidency would be preferable to a Barack Obama presidency. Clinton wasn't even my first choice, but I would have voted for her instead of McCain. But no question that McCain will mark the first time I vote Republican for President.

Even The Racists Are Deserting Hillary

Voting for Edwards is not necessarily racially motivated. Edwards had a very strong anti-poverty message and was one of only two candidates (the other being Chris Dodd) with a rural renewal plan. Maybe race is the most important things in your lives, but I know many, many good people in the state of WV and putting food on the table and educating the kids takes on so much importance that they don't even think about race.

Calling a whole swath of America racist because it makes you feel better about yourselves would be ridiculous if it weren't so hurtful. Mots of you are college-educated and, I imagine, better off than average - you should be better than that and so should Obama. posted 05/14/2008 at 12:47:55

McCain and the Courts

Truth is that you have no idea who Mccain will nominate to the Court and how they might or might not rule on issues that may or may not be raised. He's currently trying to curry favor with conservatives who seem a bit reticent to vote for him. His legislative activity on the other demonstrates his willingness to find common ground far more than dictate from an extreme position. It's extremely doubtful that he'll run for a second term, and I doubt he'll be concerned with little more than making his imprint on American history. posted 05/13/2008 at 17:17:35

During an interview on WABC radio Sunday [April 13, 2008], top Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef said the terrorist group supports Obama"s foreign policy vision.

"We don"t mind"actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance," Yousef said in response to a question about the group"s willingness to meet with either of the Democratic presidential candidates.
