As Campaign Has Evolved, So Too Has Clinton's Tone

Not sure people are aware of the clear disparity in Barack's delegate support (skewing heavily from caucus states).

Not only do Democrats need to think about Super Delegates weighing in... they need to reconcile how caucus delegates are disproportionately weighing in on the tally. posted 03/31/2008 at 20:09:08
The margins in the caucuses are what appears to be giving Obama the delegate lead. He has picked up ~120 more delegates in the caucuses versus ~20 or so in the primaries. When you compare the population and the participation of the primary states with the caucus states, the discrepency becomes pretty clear.

Hillary knows one thing... politics ain't beanbag. The loudest voices can trumph the votes. posted 03/31/2008 at 18:12:24

Little Girl From Bosnia Scandal Shocked, "Surprised" By Clinton's Lie

The MSM and HuffPo are clearly exaggerating what Clinton's intention, when she mentioned that the flight crew landed in an "evasive maneuver under sniper fire." A steep approach beween hills can be confused with evasive action - particularly since snipers tend to nest in the hills.

According to the pilot:
"We did the same approach we did every time, a steep approach," he said. "There are hills around. Every landing into there was the same way."

According to Hillary's biography:
"Due to reports of snipers in the hills around the airstrip, we were forced to cut short an event on the tarmac with local children, though we did have time to meet them and their teachers and to learn how hard they had worked during the war to continue classes in any safe spot they could find," Clinton wrote. posted 03/31/2008 at 14:30:02

Obama Win Appears Big In Texas Delegate Battle

No contradiction. As you aptly point out caucuses are dominated by party regulars and activists. How is this any different from Super Delegates?

What is very clear from the numbers is the gross differences in the weighting of delegate counts in caucuses vs primaries. Should this happen?

It clearly explains how Barack can win in Texas without capturing the popular vote. posted 03/31/2008 at 18:00:43
I tallied up the caucuses vs. primaries and it appears there is a ~120+ delegate margin in the caucuses and a ~20+ difference between Hillary and Barack in the primaries. The caucuses represent 20% of the overall delegate count.

Clearly the Barack is winning by caucus margins alone, as in Texas. Wthout the caucuses, the contest is a wash. posted 03/31/2008 at 14:39:41

Peggy Noonan: At This Point You Either Understand The Problem With Hillary Or You Don't

Ms. Noonan is a former Bush speechwriter and assistant to Ronald Reagan. She often refers to Hillary as "Mrs. Clinton". She has become very hopeful this campaign cycle, as the Clinton bashing keeps her relevant for another day.

We "got" Noonan a long time ago. posted 03/28/2008 at 17:52:42

Reuters: "Somebody Forgot To Tell Hillary Clinton The Democratic Presidential Race Is Over And Barack Obama Won"

Why is HuffPo using this lede ... reads like Reuters is trying to force Hillary out of the race.

Democrats are smarter than to accept this Drudge style approach. The process involves caucuses, primaries, state conventions and super delegates. It involves big states and little ones, red ones and blue ones. There's more complexity than meets the eye. The goal is the best candidate - not the unproven choice of caucus delegates.

If this was a Republican campaign with winner take all primaries, Hillary woud have been the nominee a while ago.

Obama deserves to prove he can win in a few big states. Particularly, since Florida and Michigan are being ignored. posted 03/27/2008 at 16:34:18

Pastor Of Clinton's Former Church, Dean Snyder, Defends Jeremiah Wright

That would make sense if Snyder was the pastor at the time. It appears he wasn't.

The headline is simply misleading... and you are the target of this kind of tabloid argument. Simply more... Huffing for Obama. posted 03/27/2008 at 11:40:05

McCain Recycles 2001 Pro-War Column For 2008 Speech

All that foreign affairs experience and a missed opportunity. He could have simply repurposed something that the Governor of Massachusetts said in a speech?

You should probably stick with pitching him as too old to be President. posted 03/27/2008 at 00:05:32

Pastor Of Clinton's Former Church: Don't Use Wright To Polarize

According to The Atlantic, as a result of the prayer breakfasts - Clinton and Sam Brownback went on to cosponsor a measure protecting refugees fleeing sexual abuse, and another to study the effects on children of violent video games and television shows. posted 03/27/2008 at 19:32:58
No need to distract anyone... Barbara Ehrenreich recently made here public endorsement of Barack Obama in The Nation. She should have spared us the retelling of a lame conspiracy theory. posted 03/27/2008 at 19:23:23
The Family story is really just about the prayer breakfasts in Washington, and the fact that Republicans and Democrats gather together for these non-partisan events. Much ado about nothing. "Skull and Crossbones" lame consipiracy theories Huffing for Obama.

The real story here is why Huffington Post bothers with this "quid pro quo" tabloid stuff. It doesn't elevate the discussion of important issues for Democrats and is very shallow and not really journalism. posted 03/27/2008 at 11:46:25
Sam Stein with more great Huffing for Obama. Pastor of Clinton's favorite church is not the same as the pastor who was at the church when the Clinton's were in attendance. Gee, that's great reporting if you write for a tabloid. posted 03/26/2008 at 23:53:02

"Obama's Test" or Ours?

John McCain is an excellent example of a future-past candidate. He has been at times a maverick and a progressive Republican, who is capable of crossing the aisle and working with the conditions that are a result of the past. He has also demonstrated this tendency for a long time.

If you wipe out the left and the right, and forego the naturally tendency towards ageist discrimiation, McCain polls with the most positives, and yet respects the past.

Democrats hold onto the progressive mantle, then elevate change agents as their leaders -- only to discover that the past comes back to haunt them. John Kerry is a shining example. A progressive leader, whose past imperiled his future. posted 03/25/2008 at 16:13:40

Obama Endorsed By Bill Richardson

Bill Richardson is the kind of candidate that Barack Obama needs on his ticket. His experience, particularly in foreign relations and diplomacy, and his support in New Mexico among Latinos clearly addresses Obama's weeknesses.

He even appeals to "old white people" who remember him as an energetic member of the Clinton team. posted 03/21/2008 at 11:52:35
