I'm an Art Director at a nice little advertising agency in Needham Center. It's a pretty demanding job sometimes and other times it's about as laid back and easy as anyone could possibly imagine an actual job being. On those rough weeks though, I am glad they have such big couches in here. And the beer fridge is great. The foosball table is cool, the dart board is nice, but I am still advocating for the pool table.
I am glad that I didn't lose my job because I spent so much damn time following this election! I had to catch up after years of neglect and despair. I am glad it is pretty much over though, and I have more than simply caught myself up with the ins and outs of the political world these days. Obama has a tough road ahead of him, and while I respect his intellect and feel as though he will do his best... I still have my doubts and reservations about him, perhaps because he is still a politician.
I'm a registered independent here in MA. I wouldn't have it any other way. Neither party is doing a great job, nor do they seem to be capable of doing what is truly needed. I do hope, however, that with an Obama win, that it will lead to the recognition of how important the independent voters truly are. Hopefully this will be the true opening that a viable third party will need to make some real impact in coming elections. I seriously doubt it, but one thing is for certain. Anything is possible. And I don't necessarily mean Obama's success but more like the fact that some intellectual lightweight like Palin could have managed to get so close!
