The Latest Clinton Canard

Hi Cenk:
Give me a break. Why are you all so bent on closing the nomination process? Aren't there few more primaries to go? Is it a mathematical certainty that Obama will be the nominee? Are the chances of Clinton less than those of McCain say four months ago? In light of all these why are you guys clamoring for here to get out? You guys are not at all playing fair. First the rules of the game were known to everyone before they started. There are going to be some 800 super delegates and 50+ states would be voting in primaries and caucuses. Unless Obama has the required 2025 pledged delegates, you all better shut up. You are the ones changing the rules ad hoc. the SDs are not supposed to vote according any magic formula of popular votes, majority pledged delegates. These rules were written some time in 1984. Nothing Clintons had engineered. SDs are supposed to vote according their own individual criteria. So I am tired of Hillary haters constantly prescribing how the SDs have to vote. It is none of your damn business. Just wait till they make up their minds. These rules were designed to avoid a blow out of the kind that happened in 1972, when the Dems rode their happy wagon over the cliff. SDs were put in place to avoid the repeat of 1972. The first time SDs have become crucial you are all eager to prescribe how they are to behave. posted 03/27/2008 at 13:59:58

Reid: "Things Are Being Done" To End Dem Primary Before Convention

I am especially disappointed with the contributors to Huffington Post. You are all one-sided, just despise Clinton, because she committed the unpardonable sin of voting for Iraq war resolution. Seems to me that HUffPo systematically excludes all writers who are supportive of Clinton - case in point Earl Ofari Hutchison, he has been relagated to the back pages.

What are the big differences between the stated positions of Clinton and Obama? I ask you of any issue. Only differences between the two are he made a speech in 2002 opposing the war, where as Clinton CHAed in voting for the resolution authorizing use of force to get Saddam Hussein to let UN inspectors into Iraq. So what is the big deal. Obama isn't the only Oracle who said it was a bad idea, I did too. Should I be running for president? Obama's record after getting to US senate is identical to Clinton's. So please do not fulminate about how he would bring prosperity and decency to the government. I am unequivocally for Clinton, because she has been around the block for long enough to deal with the situations that she will face in the White House, than Obama is. Give me 5 things that Obama has championed, or envisioned and laid any intellectual framework or organizational legwork for a national endeavors in policy areas or social areas. I can name by the dozens such community organizers, we can start with Jesse Jackson he free-lanced in international diplomacy etc. posted 03/26/2008 at 13:42:20

What Barack Obama Could Not (and Should Not) Say

A very well reasoned piece Mr. Harris. However, I disagree with some of your conclusions. You seem to be too willing to grant Mr Obama a reprieve. Mr. Obama has almost as eager to wear his FAITH on his sleeve as any and all of the republican aspirants, may be sans their malevolence. But he is just as firm a believer and sees no reason not to exploit amongst the masses. It is a great consternation to me that the secular progressives are too willing to over look this aspect of Mr. Obama completely.

Above all my concern with Mr. Obama, in wake of Mr. Wright's controversy, is that he chose to ignore completely his assignment for the speech. I was looking for him to articulate the actions he had taken to modulate Mr. Wright's vitriol, justified or not. In the absence of that, an explanation for his inactions on the same front. Instead he chose to give us a dissertation of current state of affairs vis-a-vis the prevailing race relations in the USA. As great as that may have been, despite the swooning of the progressive intelligentsia, which I myself feel part of - may be not the intelligentsia part, was the wrong speech. Unless he acquits himself on that front he should be rejected by the body politic as Charlton. posted 03/21/2008 at 15:52:23
