Superdelegates put Obama within mathematical reach

Can't wait to see Hillary campaigning her heart out for Obama, as she said she would.
But am I the only one who suspects that she'll actually be working to undermine him, by dropping a few more of her "He's not a Muslim -- as far as I know" fart bombs? posted 05/13/2008 at 10:45:20

Obama In Kentucky And West Virginia: Why Will He Lose?

It's kind of cute the way the pundits and Dem powerbrokers are assuming that Hillary will exit gracefully, without being pushed.
Here's what she said today in WV; sure sounds to me like she"s planning to stay in until the (bloody) Convention. Those superdelegates who are "waiting" are allowing Billary to bust the party apart so Her Highness can run again--while shootin' rabbits and slingin' back da whiskey! -- in 2012

CLEAR FORK, WV -- Hillary Clinton turned to the example of John F. Kennedy this afternoon as she tried to keep her bid afloat -- saying that West Virginia "made it possible" for him to become president, even though he went into his party"s convention short on delegates.
"But he had something equally as important," she said. "He had West Virginia behind him, because it"s a fact: that Democrats don"t get elected president unless West Virginia votes for you. And everybody knows West Virginia has picked presidents pretty accurately over the last years." posted 05/12/2008 at 15:37:34

Clinton's Top Gun: "I Have Seen No Evidence Of Interest" In VP Spot

Somebody's taking crazy pills if they think Obama would select Hillary Clinton as his VP.

Just imagine: all through the fall, if Hillary is on the ticket, Bill Clinton gets to continue his unhinged cross-country speechifying, reminding voters what a great president he was ...Obama would have to waste precious time rebutting 50% of the crap Bill would say, Bill's statements being craftily constructed to screw up Obama's campiagn and undermine the candidacy, so his wife could run in 2012. Not to mention, if Obamaprevailed in Nov., he would spend some percentage of his hard-won Presidency defending his VP's husband each time Bill got caught with his knickers down...

Hillary's supporters are not dumb--most realize that having an ex-President with control issues rattling around the West Wing would be disastrous for all of us... posted 05/12/2008 at 12:01:28

Under Clinton's Rules, Obama Still Wins

Hillary's advice, she said today, to her mother is, "Just turn off the television." The Hillary-ites in attendance burst into demented applause and shrieking cheers, kinda like zombies from a movie.
"Just turn off the television" can be translated as "Don't pay attention to the fact that, by every measure, I lost fair and square; don't pay attention to the fact that I'm using a Nixonian racist strategy to stir up white fears; in fact don't think at all, just listen to my toxic fear-based politics, and help me pretend I lost not only this primary campaign but also 99% of the goodwill I've acquired in public life; don't listen to your heart, your head or your own conscience."
Not only will Hillary not be VP; I'll be very surprised is she is re-elected to the Senate in NY, after trashing both African Americans and "wall street money grubbers.."
She has NO IDEA how stupid she looks these days, and how clinically bonkers she seems to 99% of the country. posted 05/10/2008 at 22:53:54

Obama Suggests Offer Maybe Clinton Can't Refuse

For a glimpse of how dumb we Democrats are, have a look at Peggy Noonan's column this week in WSJ. Ronald Reagan's former speechwriter points out that, even though the Democrats now know, 100%, who our nominee is, instead of closing ranks and hoisting Obama on our shoulders and blasting into the general election, we're sitting around on our hands, watching Hillary and Bill Clinton smack around our nominee and make racially polarizing comments, making Obama look weak and the party look like a friggin nuthouse of political correctness. Afraid of doing anything to offend the offensive Clintons, we are instead indulging this demented has-been 1990's couple to use the party as their very own play toy, while our candidate loses precious time. Any Democrat who believes Hillary and Bill are not trying to destroy Obama so Hillary can run in 2012 is dumber than a shoe. If the Democrat superdelegates continue to allow Hillary to run out her boneheaded campaign, then frankly we're too stupid to run the country anyway and more power to John McCain... posted 05/10/2008 at 16:12:26

Big Rewards Await Clinton If She Ends Campaign Now

Obama would disappoint his supporters if he bails out Hillary's debt. (and let's be real here: Bill Clinton could write her an $11 million check tonight). Neither does he owe her a VP slot--an eventuality which would saddle him with all of the Clinton scandals on top of his own struggles.
Hillary never ONCE extended Obama any graciousness or benefit of the doubt -- she ran a nasty, ugly campaign, tried to raise doubts about his masculinity, and conducted herself with all the decency of a convicted felon. . All Obama owes her is a handshake and a kick in the ass on her way out the door. Hillary Will Drop Out by June 15

She's done. Now the only fight left for Obama's supporters is to ask him to please, please don't put this deranged, unpredictable woman on the ticket as his VP.
If the ticket were Obama-Clinton, all the GOP would have to do is play over and over again the video of Hillary saying she and John McCain have "passed the commander in chief test" and Obama has not. For good measure they could throw in the video clips of Hillary's raising Farrakhan, Rev Wright and Ayres in the debates.
The message would be that Obama's own VP doesnt think he's ready to be President.
The sooner Obama puts HRC on a slow b oat to her pal Oscar de la Renta's private island estate, the better for the Party.

Exit Polls: Indiana, North Carolina Latest Information

What you'll see in the coming days is the Clinton surrogates--the usual creeps McAuliffe, Carville, Bill, etc--playing up the supposed "terrible" breach in the Dem Party, in an effort to build the absurd case that Obama MUST put the deranged Mrs. Clinton on the ticket, to "unify" the party.
All such a move would do is hand the GOP triple the ammo (Hillary + Bill) to use in November against the Democrats.
Fact is, once Obama is the nominee, folks will settle down, drink some iced tea, go for a stroll along the beach, and the party will be unified by August. posted 05/06/2008 at 18:47:10

Latest Indiana And North Carolina Polling Averages

One telling fact which has been completely under-reported by the media: several states which went for Hillary in the primary are now showing, in polls, that Obama is now the candidate of choice of those very same voters. For example: New Jersey, right next to her "home state" (ha ha) of New York.
They've seen the double-talk, sleazy tactics of Hillary Clinton, and they shudder at the idea of her being the Democratic nominee.
And--they didn't fail basic math, they know there's no way for Billary to get the nomination without overturning the will of Democratic party voters. They're ready to get on board the Obama bus to the White House, and they've become sick watching Billary do their best to polarize the party. posted 05/04/2008 at 20:01:23

If Hillary had shown any of the (forgive me) traditional female virtues of empathy for others; the courage to stand up for what's the right thing to do rather than the easy thing to do; a natural commitment to justice; a moral compass which keeps one from demonizing one's opponents; the courage to resist rattling the sabre when dealing with complex world events -- then yes, I can see why women, in general, would feel a sense of mission with her campaign. But let's talk some turkey: Hillary is running as Dick Cheney in a dress.

Paul Kirk, Ex-DNC Chair And Superdelegate, To Endorse Obama

Ah, but that's the beauty of it: Bill WILL get caught with his pants down again (duh), but not until the GOP and Fox have made Hillary the nominee. Even though Hillary has no qualms about recklessly screeching "FARRAKHAN!" when debating Obama, Obama has too much class to mention the 99% likelihood that Bill Clinton is still tomcatting around.

And frankly, given that Bill Clinton's reckless sex life, and the avalanche of lies under oath which followed, led to the impeachment of a Democratic president, it is odd that everyone is so squeamish about asking what is in fact a valid question.

But the GOP will have no such restraint. They're licking their chops at the prospect of putting the Clintons' morals at the center of a presidential campaign. And all it would take if for one floozie from the past 8 years to come forward. Just one. posted 05/02/2008 at 09:14:18

My reply to that is: So what?
Obama is still the Democratic candidate chosen by most of those who have voted. Whether or not he "can" win against McCain is completely immaterial to the primary and caucus voting process, which has put Obama in a commanding lead. It's called "democracy," Mrs. Clinton. Clinton Camp Defends Gas Plan: She Doesn't Need To Listen To Experts

Domestic economic policy isn't the only area where Hillary is a dope.

An Iranian dissident blogger wrote this yesterday:

Many Iranians are obsessed with Barack Obama. If he goes to Iran, I'm sure he could fill Tehran's Azadi Stadium, which has a capacity of 100,000. To a large extent this is because of the nature of Obama's message about change and hope. Iranian people truly want to change their situation, get rid of decades of marginalization and restore their reputation in the world. They feel connected to his message of change. They are tired of living under the threat of economic sanctions and military attacks. Obama's remark about initiating a dialogue with Iran translated for many Iranians into hopes of normalizing the relationship between the countries and Iran rejoining the international community.

Hillary Clinton said this last week:

"I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran," Sen. Clinton said. "In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them." posted 05/01/2008 at 17:20:54

Hillary and Bill Clinton embraced O'Reilly/Fox style politics MONTHS ago (remember South Carolina? remember "Obama's not a Muslim--AS FAR AS I KNOW?")
This is just the latest in their (still) Mark Penn-directed strategy to repudiate the decency of the Democratic Party and run as Republicans, appealing to fears of THE OTHER rather than nurturing hope, speaking out against injustice and working for betterment of the country.
Bill C tossed admirable Democratic policies overboard in the 90s whenever they required him to stand for what was right instead of what was politically convenient, and Hillary is completing the shredding of the party. Long Primary Damaging Democrats

Hillary on Brinks radical: I didn't know!

In an interview yesterday, Hillary -- whose connection to President Clinton's 2001 sentence commutations for two members of the Weather Underground has become an issue since she tried to raise questions about Obama's acquaintance with another ex-Weatherman -- told "Inside Edition" that she "didn't know anything about" the 2001 clemency case.

If she's telling the truth, it means that she got the worst briefings in the world when she was running for Senate in 2000 and the clemency issue was hot in Rockland County, and it means that Chuck Schumer didn't even bother to mention the issue to his fellow NY senator-elect/ First Lady.

Here's the chronology:

On October 19, 2000, as Hillary was hunting for Senate votes throughout New York, Rockland County's biggest paper, the Journal News, ran a front page story reporting that imprisoned radical Susan Rosenberg -- linked to the 1981 Weather Underground Brinks robbery that left two Nyack cops dead -- was seeking clemency from Bill Clinton.

On December 16, 2000, after Hillary became New York's Senator-elect, the paper did another Page 1 story about an upcoming 60 Minutes episode on Rosenberg's clemency application.
On December 17, 2000, the "60 Minutes" piece ran.

So, Clinton now says she knew nothing about it. Nobody briefed her on an emotional hot-button issue that intersected her husband with her constituents. Her husband never so much as mentioned Rosenberg. posted 04/24/2008 at 17:35:14
Any lingering doubts that the Clintons have been playing the race card fast and furious all along,
should have been put to rest the moment Hillary evoked Farrakhan at the ABC debate.

The moderators had not mentioned Farrakhan; John McCain has never mentioned Farrakhan;
Farrakhan is not working on Obama's campaign, they're not pals or buddies.

And yet there was the Former First Lady of the United States, and serious candidate for the Democratic nomination, pulling a "Willie Horton" a week before she needed to turn out white, blue collar voters.
It was calculated, cynical, disgusting, and divisive. Frankly, every remaining superdelegate should have risen in outrage the following morning and endorsed Obama, to stop Mrs Clinton before she goes even further in using GOP scare tactics to fracture the party along racial lines.

Right on cue, Bill followed with his "the Obama campaign played the race card on ME!" comments,
which were calculated to stir up many blue collar whites' (mis)perception that "blacks have it easier in the country, it's the whites who are being oppressed"...

Hillary did the same thing several weeks ago, when she said she "just wished there was a level playing field in this race", implying that, as a black man, Obama was getting all the breaks.

I don't know what we've come to, when a Democratic candidate is using racial politicking to amass votes and power, but I know it's not the Democratic Party most of us love. posted 04/24/2008 at 12:41:00
The good news is, Hillary has left such a foul taste in the mouths of Americans (60% find her dishonest in the most recent polls) that not only will she not win the nomination this year, but she will be laughed off the stage in 2012, the year for which she is currently campaigning via her "tear down Obama and scare white voters" campaign.
Meanwhile, given that Hillary has made Bill Clinton her main surrogate and most highly visible campaigner, it seems appropriate for reporters to start asking him if he's curbed the sexual excesses that tore apart the country in the 1990s, or if we should expect more interns snuggling under him in the 3rd Clinton presidential term. If Hillary can toss around Farrakhan's name in a nationally televised debate, I see no reason why Americans can't ask if Bill has cured his sex addiction. The answer is that she's only in this, at this point, to damage Obama enough so she can run against McCain in 2012. So she's going to save the rest of that $100 million for a real campaign, not the vanity campaign she's running (on fumes) now...

HRC Colombia ties don't stop with Penn

Mark Penn isn"t the only Hillary Rodham Clinton supporter on the wrong side of the Colombia trade agreement.

The Democratic-leaning advocacy firm the Glover Park Group, former home to Clinton campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson, signed a $40,000 per month contract with the government of Colombia in April of 2007 to promote the very agreement that Clinton now rails against on the presidential campaign trail.

That means Glover Park Group was arguing the same position on the free trade agreement as has Penn, the contentious Clinton strategist and Burson-Marsteller chief executive who lost his campaign job over the weekend after The Wall Street Journal revealed that he"d met with Colombian officials to plot strategy on the pact.

Several other Glover Park employees have deep connections with the Clintons, including founding partner Joe Lockhart, who served as the White House press secretary under President Bill Clinton, and Joel Johnson, who was a senior communications adviser in the Clinton White House.

Six employees of Glover Park Group contributed a total of nearly $20,000 to Clinton"s campaign in 2007, according to data kept by the Center for Responsive Politics.

Wolfson, who is set to take over many responsibilities from the departing Penn, and his wife maintain an equity stake in the firm valued at from $500,000 to $1 million, according to a recent Capitol Hill financial disclosure filing. posted 04/07/2008 at 19:50:30

One possible answer:
"It"s just been reported that one of the people involved in the breach reported to a Mora Hardy, a State Department manager who was made an Ambassador by former President Bill Clinton"

Former Clinton ambassador to Paraguay; Mora Hardy. was the supervisor in charge of the two contract employees dismissed after Jan 9th and Feb 21st breaches of security in going into Sen Obama"s passport files.

After spending about $31 million in her efforts to keep up with Senator Barack Obama, Mrs. Clinton finished February with more than $33 million in cash on hand, but $21.5 million of that is earmarked exclusively for the general election, leaving her with $11.7 million for the primary.

Mrs. Clinton, however, loaned her campaign $5 million earlier this year and she listed $8.7 million in debts to various vendors, making clear why she has not yet paid herself back from her loan.

By way of comparison, Senator Barack Obama, her Democratic opponent, brought in $55 million in February, a record-setting sum, and spent about $43 million, leaving him with $31.6 million in cash on hand available for the primary and $7.3 million set aside for the general. He also did a much better job paying his bills, listing just $625,000 in outstanding debts.

Judging from the comments here, it's very clear Hillary has locked up the redneck, racist vote, thanks in large part to her and her campaign's covert and overt green-lighting of playing racial politics (Has anyone heard Hillary, even once, raise her voice in objection to the role race is playing in this election? Didn't think so.).
Unfortunately, her base won't be large enough, or compelling enough, to green-light her hoped-for super-delegate theft of the nomination. posted 03/21/2008 at 13:00:10
