Sooner1976

Currently a systems engineer and Chemist.

1976-1979 Medic, HHB1/1 ADA Wildflecken FRG, USAREUR
1979-1982 Wayne State College, BS Chemistry

I work for a large Construction/Engineering firm that has taken me from TN to ME to WA and back to TN. I don't like all of my company's dealings but at least they try.

There are three rules:
1. Know the rules
2. Comply with the rules, or
3. Cause the rules to be changed

I know the neocons have a fourth and that is that the rules don't matter. That's OK because they are mainly cowards, never served anything but their own fat maws and suck daily, as a consequence.

4000 US Soldiers Killed In Iraq

Something we need to think about, as we go forward to elect a president; how do the candidates intend on supplying troops in this war? You can bet somewhere, someone, is considering re-introducing the draft. There are barely 175,000 families with service people in the entire war, the brunt being shouldered by few, when many want this war to continue. That is my fear for having a republican elected as president. I would like to know how our democratic candidates, would answer this question, as that is what this election is about for me, just the war.The war affects very facet of our society, economy, education, housing......... posted 03/24/2008 at 09:48:02

The day after New Year's 1996, operatives for Barack Obama filed into a barren hearing room of the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.

There they began the tedious process of challenging hundreds of signatures on the nominating petitions of state Sen. Alice Palmer, the longtime progressive activist from the city's South Side. And they kept challenging petitions until every one of Obama's four Democratic primary rivals was forced off the ballot.

Fresh from his work as a civil rights lawyer and head of a voter registration project that expanded access to the ballot box, Obama launched his first campaign for the Illinois Senate saying he wanted to empower disenfranchised citizens......
