Poisonous Mindset
We have a poisonous mindset at work, the result of too much "Military Thinking."
This mindset is focused on win/loose. And this degenerates into a bloody, expensive, loose/loose stalemate that achieves the exact opposite of it's goals - it delivers insecurity, not security.

Win/win is the only way to make progress. Another expression for win/win is trade, or business.

HR 6304 is an unconsitiutional taking, as defined by the 5th amendment, where "nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation"

The lawsuit is private property. Property becuase there are monetary damages atached. There is no compensation offered in HR 6304 for the taking.

The only part of this that is not settled law is if a civil action with damages is property. "It's my lawsuit against..." makes a clear statement of ownership. Evrything in our society is property, very few things are not, maybe only us humans (per the 14th amendment)".

if a lawsuit is property (not settled law as far as I understand, but I personally fail to understand how a lawsuit could be anything other than personal property), then HR 6304 is an unlawful taking because there is no compensation offered.

Don't be so naive.

Our forefathers WERE the foreign occupying force. Ask the indians.

The British fought the French & Indian Wars against the, duh, French & Indians, in North America in the mid 1700s. In the late 1700s, the BRITISH colonist wanted to move west over the Appalachians. To achieve this the colonists need protection from BRITISH (aka for Britain), troops. So the BRITISH government, levied taxes on the colonials, to pay for said troops.

The British East India company (the evil multinational), was exempt from these taxes. So the tea was thrown into Boston harbor.

The "forefathers"? Traitors, pure & simple. If the British had not got tangled up with Napoleon, the US would have been taken back. posted 06/23/2008 at 02:13:56

The basis for your argument is specious.

One has to examine root cause of any situation to determine the underlying issues and address those issues. People resort to terrorism when there is nothing else, not even hope.

The cancer, the main underlying issue, driving the middle east is the Israel/Palestine problem.

No where, not once, do you address this issue. It's the detonator of a significant percentage of muslim anger.

Your rationale is as stupid as the "war on drugs", which cannot work, and those fighting it have no interest in winning, because they would loose their jobs. The same is true in the "war on terror". Its bullshit, because the root cause are completely unaddressed.

Bear Stearns Executives Ralph Cioffi, Matthew Tannin Indicted... FBI Announces "Operation Malicious Mortgage"

Ok, here's how the mortgage market works (as I understand it).

1. The Investors set the underwriting standards. Because they are making a commitment to buy mortgages written under their underwriting standards. The Investment banks (Bare Sterns etc), wrote the underwritng standards.
2. The Mortgage Banks publish rate sheets based on the underwriting standards.
3. Loan officers, screen applicants and try to get them a mortgage from he rate sheets, subject to the underwriting standards.
4. A completed loan application is set by the loan officer to the underwriters for review, under the underwriting standards.
5, If approved by underwriting, the loan docs and sent out, signed, returned, reviewed, and the loan may, or may not be funded.

Notice who sets the underwriting standards. All these people are paid only if a loan is funded. If a Loan Officer told a buyer "you can;t do this" the buyer would just go & find a Loan Officer who could make the loan.

The people who have been arrested misrepresented the risk of the underwriting standards to the investors. Simple as that. For once we seem to have nailed the perps. Now to their management who are vicariously liable. posted 06/19/2008 at 17:35:27
