Incorrect. In the hard sciences most students are vigorously recruited by the private sector (Pharmaceutical, chemical, manufacturing..) most are hired out of PhD programs at the Masters level. The dumbest and poorest students never get hired and eventually fall back on staying in school to get a PhD and then go into teaching.
The perfect case is man-made global warming. The majority of those who say it is settled are from academia and really good statisticians, physicist, meteorologist, ....work in the private sector an consider man-made global warming what it is Junk Science by second rate academic educators.

I was about 12 years old when I figured out "humans can never figure it out" intellectually. This came about the day I saw my first "fake antique." As an investor in all forms of capital building instruments, stocks, real estate,......we stopped buying anything that will be impacted by the Capital Gains tax increases.
Anything I buy today and hold for more than a year benefits from Long Term Capital gains lower taxes. Since we know the Democrats are going to increase this tax we have to reason to buy the surplus houses or anything (stocks) that will produce a profit only to be confiscated by Democrats.
