She's tearing at Bush a brick at a time. If Obama wins and Dems regain a bigger lead in Congress (both houses), she'll have succeeded. Remember what good impeachment proceedings did last time - it just drove a bigger wedge. She's got the same goal we do (getting Repubs out of power so they can't cause any more harm), she's just playing a different game to get there. posted 05/16/2008 at 14:06:31
Maybe you should go back and revisit the 'Mothers' vote and the War Funding games the Repubs have played the past week. Taking on the woman that the Republican party hates the most whose campaign has used tactics that have even turned off some Democrats (meaning your Obamamaniacs)is not a dream ticket. The vast majority of Americans (especially older ones) don't like change as it is - asking people to vote for a woman and a bi-racial man is just too much change. Obama will embrace Hillary supporters - it doesn't mean she has to be the VP to do it. I hope he takes Biden - an older white guy who is hea of the foreign relations committee and sure can throw a punch back at the Bush-ites. posted 05/16/2008 at 08:09:47

Anne, I'm a female at a big tech company that makes less than my male co-workers in the same job classification. We have female managers, and like their male counterparts, some of them certainly aren't doing a very good job. I'd love to see the glass ceiling shattered, and I also thought 18 months ago that Hillary would be my choice. But for me at this moment in time, the Presidency of the Uniteds States is more important than race or gender. I truly, honestly believe that. If Obama were a woman or a '100% white' man, I'd vote for him. I'm backing him because I beleive in his message, his Social Security plan, I think his healthcare plan has a better chance of passing then Hillary's. I like his plan to exit Iraq and make our military stronger. Although gender and racial equality are very important subjects, I don't think that's what our vote needs to be based on. I do realize all of the plans that Obama endorses will not make it through Congress, but I'm holding out hope that the direction this country has been headed for the past 8+ years will change. Please consider voting for Obama. posted 05/15/2008 at 12:47:20
The media is more powerful than any oif us want to admit. They're as responsible for selling the Iraq War as Colin Powell & the rest of the Bush administration. It's obvious Fox wants anyone other than Obama - look at what they spin. So an ABC reporter just parrots what Hillary says, so what? A police officer in my town also says Obama is a Muslim - tell me that isn't scary. People like Bush & Cheney & Rove & Romney & Limbaugh & Guiliani & Bill O'Reilly & Newt Gingrich & Tom DeLay & Bill Kristol should I go on? there's plenty more) all recieved deferments. They think all the poor kids should go and fight and they'll give lip service and NOTHING else. I thought McCain was different.(A friend of mine is a Marine that served in Afghanistan & Iraq and said all the guys he served with want Obama to get the nomination.) The above chicken hawks will wear their flag pins and SAY they support our troops. But when it comes to respect or money - it's all a bunch of lies. I have a question- if Hillary agrees to one thing before the elections (FL & MI don't count), but wants to change her mind AFTER the results shows she's ahead (and some would say it was due to her not taking her name off the ballot in MI, as well as being the brand Democrat in FL where it was early & Obama couldn't even campaign because he agreed to the rules), doesn't that make you worry at least a little bit about other rules she'll change her mind on once she's Commander-in-chief? Trust me - there are some real racists in Westmoreland County. I was told to 'get that garbage off my street'. One person stated they 'weren't going to vote for that g-d n-word'. I had a friend of my cousin tell me she admired me for what I was doing, but there's just no way she could vote for a black man.
One thing that did make an impression on me is that the 'bitter' comment really didn't upset people as much as the media said it did. There was a Hillary supporter with a sign at a Steeler rally that said "I'm not bitter", but she certainly came across as being bitter.
