You can be certain that this leak, was approved at the highest levels, of the Mc Cain campaign. they knew where to put this info. This story will not be likely to get a lot of attention in the right wing media, but they made sure that we, who are reading the HuffPost know about McCain not voting for Bush in 2000. If I voted for Bush, I'd deny it too ! posted 05/10/2008 at 00:47:07
If I thought that I could be reimbursed for 20 Million Dollars ($20,000,000.00), I would have run too. Maybe this is a way to lower the cost of elections. Will Obama be expected to buy out the others, Kucinich, Dodd, Richardson, Biden, and Edwards. I bet Mike Gravel would appreciate a few bucks. Maybe Obama has other plans for the 20 Mil. Maybe he wants to invest it in a small jobs program, maybe green jobs, maybe some good jobs will come of it. Maybe he wants to donate $ 20 Million worth of high tech equipment, computers etc. for schools that are in desperate need, especially in the parts of the country, that need it the most. Maybe he wants to invest the 20 Million in a trust that could then pay for health care insurance for some of the 50 million people who still are unable to pay for their own health care. Don't disappoint us Barrack, she, and her husband, are earning about 10 Million per year, without being President. I think that Barracks' supporters will feel better too. posted 05/09/2008 at 00:12:56
Jimmy Carter is the only American President, that I have ever heard speak of peace, as a goal for America. What a novel idea. It is more obvious as time goes on, that his administration was sabotaged from within and without. It was George H. W. Bush ("formerly" of the C .I .A.) who wanted Carter out. He succeeded in defeating a sitting president running for a second term. He did so thru the Iran Hostage Crisis, where the Iranians held Americans hostage, until Reagan was inaugurated. It is now known that George H. W. Bush, Poppy himself, along with a former C. I. A. founder, and future Attorney General Bill Casey, successfully convinced the Iranians to hold on to them, until Carter was out of office, with promises of weapons. This of course led to the infamous Iran/Contra Scandal. Since that year, 1980, there has been a Bush as president or a heartbeat away for 19 of the last 27 years. Incidentally, Jimmy Carter is the only recent President who has not been caught posted 05/08/2008 at 10:30:40
Maybe it is time for John Edwards to jump back into the mix. The polls showed him to be the strongest candidate against Mc Cain. I think, that we can say good bye to the Clintons, I hope, we can say good bye to the Clintons. They have thrown a lot at Obama, but he has not blinked. If John Edwards would agree to take a shot at the VP spot again, I believe that an Obama/Edwards ticket is a winning combination. Using recent history is a guide, we need a really big win just to break even. It seems to me that if the Democratic party really wants to win they should use their best players, and play to win. posted 05/06/2008 at 23:40:10
2nd attempt.. Republican Senator, David 'The Diaperman' Vitter, likes to wear diapers, in some kind of fantasy with a prostitute. It was the same prostitute about once a week for a long time. The prostitute just 'happened' to bear a striking resemblance to his wife. The woman who was recently exposed on the Internet as being the girl friend of John Mc Cain, during the 2000 campaign for the Republican Party nomination for president, looked as though she was separated at birth from Beer Heiress Cindy Mc Cain. Republicans can also claim Senator Larry 'Tap Tap' Craig (the men's room cruiser). That stall at the Minnesota Airport has become a tourist attraction. I'm sure that it will be very popular with the convention goers, as they come and go from the Republican Convention. There was a Republican congressman who got caught propositioning an undercover policeman, while they were each hanging out at a public men's room in a park in Florida. Florida is also the home of Congressman Mark Foley, the guy who was sexually harassing the teenage male pages. He claimed that it all started, when he had sex with a priest, while he was a teenager. House Speaker Dennis 'Fat' Hastert was rumored to have been part of the page scandal, before he declined to run for re-election and then retired suddenly. I could go on, but it should be obvious to anyone the Aussies have a long way to go, before they catch up with us. posted 05/01/2008 at 17:23:15
Who else can a white supremacist support, they certainly are not going to support the black man, nor the woman. Jesse Helms is not running, David Duke is not running, but John Mc Cain is. posted 04/28/2008 at 21:13:53
It doesn't surprise me that the governor got laid, after all he is the governor. What does surprise me, is how much he paid. Why do we have police agencies spying on our elected officials? I know that they say, that they just stumbled across this information, but they can't really expect us to believe that, can they ? It seems to be obvious bullshit. Apparently Mr Spitzer had some enemies in government. Does Queen Rudy want to be governor ? posted 04/27/2008 at 03:07:25
The drug laws, and the way they are enforced, are not a mistake. This is exactly what was intended. These laws were written by our legislatures, thru negotiations between those who like to see people punished for using drugs without a prescription, and those who are afraid to stand up to them. Anyone who objects to people being punished for crimes without victims, is treated as though they are 'one of them'. This is a class war disguised as a drug war. Many of the people who want to control what drugs their neighbor uses also want to punish people who have certain sexual interests. It's a control issue ! posted 04/19/2008 at 02:29:08
Of course we are bitter .A lot of people are out of work, and a lot more are working for far less than they disserve. This economy seems to be working just fine for John Mc Cain, but it is not working at all for the great majority of Americans. This economy is a disaster, people are being foreclosed on and evicted from the homes, that they can't sell. They can't afford to put gas in the vehicles that they are straining to make payments on, with interest rates as high as 30%. Did anyone expect, that working class people were going to do well, under a Republican administration. posted 04/14/2008 at 00:04:17
Mr Sugar, I'm amazed that you named the top three fighters of all time, and didn't mention "The Greatest". It is difficult for me to separate Ali the fighter, from Ali the showman, and Ali the world figure. I have been following boxing since Jersey Joe Wolcott, the original Sugar Ray, and Archie Moore. Ali brought a level of excitement to boxing that no one else ever has. posted 04/08/2008 at 21:35:05
It is unfortunate, that one has to claim membership in one of the major religions, to become a serious candidate for a high level political office. For best results, waspish protestant churches are recommended. It would normally be considered political suicide, for a candidate to admit, they were not believers. The churches stick together and a protestant church would rather that a candidate, be a catholic, or belong to another religion than an atheist or an agnostic. Is this considered professional courtesy? No wonder that they maintain their tax-free status on every acre of property that they own. posted 04/06/2008 at 01:23:38
Character assassination is alive and well, Dennis Kucinich, the only viable 'lefty' running, was a victim of ridicule throughout his campaign, in spite of the fact that he was at least, as qualified and experienced, as any other Democrat. John Edwards was arguably, the strongest candidate, for several reasons, yet rumors appeared and the money and press went for the chosen ones. At one time Rudy Guiliani was considered a likely nominee of the Republican party, fortunately, that did not happen. Are we the voters being manipulated? Does it seem to you, that when they write about this election, 'The Making of the President 2008'. Will they say that Obama was doing well, until his minister opened his big mouth. Will they report voters saying "I was going to vote for the black guy, but his minister sounds like a racist, and I am not going to vote for a racist." I'll vote for McCain! Whuttt ? ? ? posted 04/04/2008 at 19:02:26
CNN is also doing a story on this tragedy. I don't think that we can depend on the courts to protect us from the corporations, but the people can. There must be a way to at least send some money to this family. Hopefully they can use some of it to fight against the power of Walmart. posted 03/27/2008 at 01:34:51
