Jesse Jackson Disparages Barack Obama: Caught On Tape (VIDEO)

BS! In what world. I am an African Male, Slightly older than Barack and younger than Jesse. Obama is on point with most of the folk in our community, including the Nation of Islam (I am Evangelical Christian ). Was it identity politics when the Nation called on us do apologize for our neglect of our responsibility to family? Barack is in a unique position to bring this message home and I hope that he continues to hammer it home. Govenrment alone can not solve the problems in our communities. My dad had a 6th grade education, was a share cropper/tenant farmer during most of my upbringing. This did not stop him and many other black men in my community from taking responsibility for their families. He kept food on the table and made sure his three children got their college degree. Right on Barack (and Bill Cosby). posted 07/10/2008 at 11:26:15

McCain had an honorable career. That is a lot different than a successful career. As Clark (who I supported in 2004) points out there is nothing in that honorable career that qualifies McCain to be President of the US. There is probable cause in McCain's career during his military and post military to question whether he has the temperment and judgement to be Commander in Chief. Wesley Clark is in a postion to question McCain on this better than Obama. His stock may be rising for VP if he can continue to show more fire than he did in 2004 posted 06/27/2008 at 11:42:40

I'm Standing With Imus in the Morning

The question was dumb, but I think he was trying to, in a clumsy way, make up for past sins. But he was not in my opinion making a bigoted statement about blacks. Hopefully, Revered Sharpton will read it the same way and give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. posted 06/25/2008 at 12:27:47
Did you listen to the entire segment? Here it is:
Wolf: "Defensive back Adam 'Pacman' Jones, recently signed by the Cowboys. Here's a guy suspended all of 2007 following a shooting in a Vegas night club."

Imus: "Well, stuff happens. You're in a nightclub, for God's sake. What do you think's gonna happen in a nightclub? People are drinking and doing drugs, there are women there, and people have guns. So, there, go ahead."

Wolf: "He's also been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005."

Imus: "What color is he?"

Wolf: "He's African-American."

Imus: "Well, there you go. Now we know."

Notice how he earlier in the conversation states that "stuff happens in nightclubs. I consider absolutely plausible that Imus was making a statement that Pacman was being harassed. And yes, I am African American. Back when Pacman was playing youth football we took him to Daytona for turkey bowl football games along with the association that I served as football director for from 1992-2003. He actually played at the Sandtown Associaition. posted 06/24/2008 at 13:14:09

As a long time Obama supporter this would "checkmate" McCain's pathetic pandering attempts at some of Hillary's most ardent supporters (and the move should not be made until near the end of the convention with a few more moves like the one with Solis Doyles to throw everyone off in between). Everybody who had any reason for not supporting Hillary, women or man, was a sexist or mysogynist. It could not have been things like a vote for the war and refusal to say the vote was a mistake. It could not have been the saying whatever it takes (triangulation) of the Clintons or in some cases outright lying (misspeaking). I know Hillary does not want to do it now. But when this is over I would kick Mark Penn's Arse if I were her. Her campaign got outsmarted at every turn. She concentrated on the big states on Super Tuesday. Obama's strategy to be competitive in the big states while having a good ground in the small states kept the delgate count on Super Tuesday a wash. Then there was no post Super Tuesday strategy for the Clinton Campaign and Obama rolled off eleven straight. They were literally out of money. This was supposed to be a lock. It is in fact you Clintonistas who insist on stating that Red State Contests, or states that have African American voting populations over 20 percent don't count that are promoting divisiveness. It is the Clinton Campaign with their Mark Penn strategy of 50 percent plus one versus Obama campaign of 50 states that promotes divisiveness. Give me a break. This is not close and it is starting to be properly reported as people begin to understand delegate distribution in the Democratic Primary. If Hillary had won every contest by margins of 5 to 10 percent She would not have a 167 "Elected" Delegate lead. Do you think if Obama had lost every primary this would not be over? If 167 is insignificant why is it that the Clinton Campaign is not talking about eliminating Obama/s lead in "ELECTED" Delegates. They would have to win every remaining contest by 30 to 35 percent to eliminate Obama's lead in "Elected" delegates. Obama has a 700,000 plus lead in the Popular Vote. Hillary beat Obama by 17 Percent in New York for a plus 317,500 votes. She is not likely to win PA by that margin and even if she did it does not wipe his lead. This ain't that close folks. posted 03/31/2008 at 02:15:45

Do what you have to. We will keep pointing out that she can't him as the press has finally figured out and is starting to report. I don't know what took them some long. I guess we have not gone this long in a primary . The facts are because of the way Democrats allocate Delegates it is impossible to get to Magic Number even if you won all 55 contests unless of course you blow your opponent out by something ridiculous margin. But if Hillary or Obama wins all 55 with a margin of 5 to 10 percent you can't secure the Magic Number. It would take Superdelegates to put the nominee over the top. A 167 lead is not a small lead in ELECTED DELEGATES. It is a substantial lead as they were just pointing out on CNN's Ballot Bowl. So yes I will continue to trumpet that fact in this Blog and others. You Clintonites would like that information kept a secret so if She STEALS THE NOMINATION you can hope for a Kumbaya Moment. Do you think CNN and MSNBC are going to be silent about that? How about Faux News talking about the Illegitimate Democratic Nominee. That will go over well in a General Election. They are pulling for Hillary to pull that stunt because it would make life easier for McCain. Do you really think she is gonna win the remaining contests by 30 Percent? No we won't be quiet so deal with it. posted 03/29/2008 at 19:24:55

No he did not, you did. Electoral College has nothing to do with the Primary. And this new Talking Point from the Clinton Campaign is BS. Delegations to the National Convention are based on formulas that the party has come up with and it is not always just based on the population in the state. But it considers the Democrats in the state not the number of Voters in the State. So a Blue states that is smaller in population than a Red State could get more delegates. That's why this new "Goal Post" of the Clinton Campaign is BULLSHOT. posted 03/29/2008 at 15:31:18
Up to now Bill I thought that you were an honest Broker. But when you interjected that Clinton Campaign BS about Hillary being ahead in the Electoral College you gave it away. Bill we can play this out but what is the end game. You Clinton Supporters (That's what you are now) keep poo pooing on the "Elected" Delegate Lead of Obama. It's only one percent or two percent of the elected delegates as you say. The fact is because of the apportioning rules the DNC put in place it would hard to build up that lead if you had won all of the contests by 5 to 10 percent. If One candidate say Hillary had done that don't you think the Elders would say this over? Obama has not just won many of the contests he has won he has blown Hillary out. She in turn has not done that as Obama has for the most part been competitive in contests that she has won. It makes that argument about winning the "important" states less saleable. So the notion that at this point the race is close is BULLSHOT. However if she can run the rest of the campaign without tearing Obama down let's finish this out through June. Reid To Worried Dems: "This Will Be Over Long Before The Convention"

Get over, Michigan clearly broke the rules. Florida was more borderline since their primary was in fact scheduled after IA, NH, NV, and SC.

However, It has been floated that the rule in place prior to the DNC nuclear approach is to cut the delegation in half in Florida based on the vote that was taken. Sounds fair to me. You seat them and penalize them for breaking the rules. Giving them a do over or seating them entirely would invoke worse chaos the next time around. You don't reward for bad behavior but you can ameliorate the penalty. posted 03/29/2008 at 13:34:02
If she doesnot have the lead in "Elected" Delegates, She is down by 167 Elected Delegates according to the latest RCP, or if she doesnot overtake Obama in the popular vote, she is down by 700,000 votes according to RCP, then the only path to the nomination for her is to STEAL THE NOMINATION (yes I am screaming) through SUPERDELEGATES. Do you think the rest of us should go along with that scenario? Hell to the Naugh. She has to PUT AWAY THE KITCHEN SINK and win the rest of the contests FAIR AND SQUARE by say 65 to 35 percent to make up the deficit in these two metrics. If she does that, the rest of us will gladly get behind Hillary Rodham Clinton. Hey Taylor I for once agree with you to let this play out as long as the candidates follow some principles as it plays out. And one is stop the ridiculous Endorsing of the Republican Nominee over one of the Democrats who could be at the top of the ticket this fall. You havenot heard Obama's campaign say that McCain would be a better Commander in Chief than Hillary. Both them need to stop giving McCain a free ride. Futhermore, if the only path to the nomination is for Hillary to try to beat Obama so that to Superdelegates he no longer appears electable the Superdelegates are not gonna be able to turn around and give her the nomination. She can't catch him in Pledged Delegates even if she wins the next 10 unless she can win by some ridiculous margin. In order for that to happen Obama would have to be caught in bed with a underage minor, male or female. That ain't gonna happen. If Hillary can't win this without staying the gutter she won't get it anyway. The Democratic Party is not gonna turn their backs on the Historically most LOYAL CONSTITUENCY (Yes I am Yelling) of the party. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Sorry but you you or your candidate ain't in any positition to make such a claim. Those primaries were bogus. Hillary said so herself while she was campaigning for votes in IIA and NH. Case closed. The offer to halve the delegations in FL and Michigan at 50-37 and 50-50 are the only offers you are gonna get. And the popular vote are not part of the discussion since candidates did not compete in those states as mandated by the DNC and agreed upon by all candidates including Hillary. This is just a means to seat the delegation from those states. And Superdelegates from those states are out as part of the penalty. Next time around folk will follow rules. posted 03/31/2008 at 10:11:35
They broke the rules. And in the case of Michigan blatantly broke the rules. There has to be some penalty for this or there is chaos. It seems the proposal that is on the table is the measured option that the DNC table could have opted for at the time. That option is to cut the delegation in half as the Republicans did in meting out their penalties on those staets. Seat Florida at half the delegates based on the results from the beauty contest on the January 29th and split them 50-50 in Michigan where the rules were more blatantly broken and Obama's name was not on the ballot. The popular votes from these states are not part any metric since these states violated the rules. I would stop farting with Clinton Campaign if I was Obama. Give them a couple of weeks to agree if not we stick with the rules. posted 03/31/2008 at 10:03:38

The states have to penalized in some way and the proposal that is on the table is in Florida cut the delegation in half based on the January 29 beauty contest. The Popular Vote does not factor into the discussion because the state broke the rules and candidates didnot campaign in those states. This is the same penalty that the Republicans applied to Florida and Michigan for Breaking the rules. You can't have the states go unpunished because of the precedent you sent for future primaries. Michigan would have to be split down the middle. posted 03/31/2008 at 01:47:12

Obama Pushing To End Nomination Before Convention

What the Clintonistas don't get is that she will not be rewarded by the party for kneecapping OBAMA and destroying him with this Scorched Earth Approach. The nominee for the Democratic Party will be Obama or someone like Gore if this goes to a brokered convention. And it won't be Edwards at the bottom of the ticket. It will be Obama at the bottom of the ticket. He would be leading in all three electoral metrics and this would be done to reconcile with his supporters. The point is there is no nomination for Hillary unless she can win the remaining contests 70 percent to 30 percent. And that is not gonna happen. She can keep it up and we get Obama/somebody or Gore/Obama. posted 03/27/2008 at 23:08:59
BS. They broke the rules. And he winning according to the DNC party rules and not according to the rules the Clinton campaign make up from week to week. posted 03/27/2008 at 22:47:28

Pelosi Should Recant, then Zip It Up on Pumping Obama

That scenario is not even plausible. If Hillary had won 11 straight contests, the Democratic Party would have called the contest finished and we would united behind Hillary. If it was John Edwards or any of the other candidates in Hillary's shoes, the party would have said this is over as they did in 2004 before anyone had gotten to the magic number. Today we are talking about counting only states that have primaries to come up with a scenario for her to get the supers to line up for her. posted 03/28/2008 at 12:19:45
It is what it is. I am still trying to figure out how Obama beat Hillary 56-42 percent in the popular vote in Alabama and only got 27 of 52 delegates. Hillary wins New Jersey popular vote by 9.9 percent and gets 59 out of 107 delegates. Go figure. posted 03/28/2008 at 12:12:36

Reverend Wright: Raw and Un-Cut

Hey hoopesaz, by your posts I take it you have not bothered to get beyond the 30 second version of his messages. I took the liberty myself on last evening to listen to larger excerpts of the so called racist, hate America messages that have been running on the MSM to see for myself. Some the excerpts are 10 minutes long and at least one, the Christmas 2007 message, is broken into four parts. I also took the time to listen to excerpts from other messages of Reverend Wright to get a better picture of what members of that church might hear over 36 years of ministry. Based on the two hours I spent actually listening in context to his messages I was not calling him a nut like I was last week. posted 03/27/2008 at 15:44:40
And you base that on what? Here is what the President, who happens to be white. of the predominantly white denomination that Trinity United Church of Christ is affiliated with had to say about the church that Obama attends and that Reverend Wright pastored for 36 years. Wright was also one of many African-American Ministers who was summoned to the White House by the Clinton Adminstration to minister and pray for a remorseful (As far as I know) President.

I guess to the Clintonistas it about Words now. I took it upon myself to actually listen to all of the messages that the excerpts and soundbites were extracted from. I also took the time to listen to the President of United Churches of Christ, which is a predominantly white denomination, praise of Pastor Wright for his SOLUTIONS to real problems in low income areas of Chicago, whether its their programs assisting those with HIV, their mentoring and tutoring programs, their support in scholarships for low income kids in Southside of Chicago, their to Senior Housing Units, There Hospice Care Center, Drug and Alcohol Counseling Center. No for you Clintonistas it's all about WORDS now. Take the time to educate yourself. You expect me to educate myself about you. I am supposed to understand the things that frustrate you. You refuse to at least listen to full context of Wright was saying. Some of it went off the range and was not needed to make his point. But he was making a point about how we have been our own worst enemy with some of our policies. posted 03/27/2008 at 13:48:01

The church is in fact a very ethinically diverse church with some "typical" white people in it. In fact in one of his so called rants he acknowledges their presence as members of the church. I guess he should go into hiding as Obadiah did from Jezebel when he prophesized judgement upon the house of Israel. posted 03/27/2008 at 13:21:14
I see you haven't (or willnot) take the time to educate yourself. This man is not what he has been vilified. And he like Obama has taken on the Christian Church for there treatment of gays. I took the time on last evening to sit at the computer and view some of unedited sermons and videos about TUCC. You might do the same considering that you are so fair mined.

I am an Obama supporter and I don't buy your BS. I chose to believe that this country as a whole has evolved to the point where a Woman, Latino, Asian, African-American, Jew, Gentile, Protestant or Catholic has an equal opportunity to aspire to anything this country offers. Call me naive. posted 03/27/2008 at 10:01:41
Sorry but anything coming out of Craig Crawford, Lanny Davis, James Carville, Paul Begala, or even Joe Scarborough mouths falls into the same category as the person telling us about ducking for cover when landing in Bosnia in 1996 and the person who said "I did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinsky". posted 03/27/2008 at 09:48:53

Telling Tales About Her First Lady Travels: Where and Why Did Hillary Exaggerate?

My weekly email to 200 recpients
There has been a lot talked about and written about Obama's former Pastor and his church over the last few days. This Prophet and this church have been vilified and demonized by the likes of Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and others of their ilk. And just this week Hillary Clinton decided to add her voice to the chorus of vilifiers and demonizers. Let me say that when I first heard the "soundbites" my reaction was the same as most who heard it. I had to ask myself who is this nut that Obama has selected as his spiritual mentor, the man who he says led him to Christ. On last week I heard Obama's speech as many of you did and was satisfied that he had addressed my concerns and opened an important dialogue. As some of you know I occasionally blog in some of the political blogs like the Huffington Post. Some of the bloggers had been encouraging other bloggers to take the time to listen to Reverend Wright's message in context. Which is in fact the way we are supposed to study the Bible, in context. So I took the time to view the videos, in context, and not just the Fox News soundbites. If you get the time I encourage you to do the same. Based on the work that this church is doing and the message of the church I think that you will come away with a different impression. posted 03/28/2008 at 15:28:27

Clinton Owes Obama An Apology

[Hillary doesn't know if Obama is a Muslim. He says he's not -- and in fact maybe he's not. But, she doesn't have to put her credibility on the line by vouching for someone she doesn't really know. ]

How is she putting her credibility on the line by refraining from saying "As far as I know". She could easily have said what Obama has said about his religion and left it at that.

[So what if she thinks McCain would be a better President than Obama. A lot of people feel that way. I feel that way. ... He thinks he will make a better President than she will -- should he apologize for that? ]

Maybe I think McCain would be a better President than Hillary. But it is not okay for Obama to say that and in effect endorse McCain over Hillary and neither is it for Hillary to endorse McCain over Obama.

[Rev. Wright set the Obama campaign on fire -- was she supposed to jump in the flames with him?]

No just as Keith said she could have stood and watched. Why all of sudden when the press' storyline had changed to her Bosnia lies did she find it necessary to try to trhough more logs and gas on the flame.

The problem wth her BS "I am honored to be here with Barack" is a couple of days later we were getting the Kitchen Sink and "Shame on you Barack Obama". posted 03/26/2008 at 22:03:45

Hillary's "Audacity of Hopelessness"

Hey those percentages go up when the question is asked if SHE STEALS THE NOMINATION through the superdelegates will you support her. Which happens to be her only option. This would be reported by all news channels without the Clinton spin should she steal the nomination. Faux News which is channeling Hillary right now, would turn back to their regular programming and would have this on Blast. They would be making appeals to her supporters including the African American and telling them to see how their loyalty to the Democratic Party has paid off. If Hillary had ran an effective campaign through all of the states she might be leading or this thing would actually be close and Obama's supporters in that context would have no problem supporting her. As it now stands it has been a blow out in terms of "ELECTED" delegates. I challenge you to locate a decent delegate counter and do a scenario with her winning every state up now by 10 percent and see what would be her delegate lead. It would be something close to Obama's lead. The reason he is ahead at these insumountable margins for her is because of the number of contests he has beat her by a 20 plus percentage. Hillary has two states, Arkansas and Oklamoma, that she managed to pull off 20 plus percentage wins. posted 03/26/2008 at 15:33:07
