Werner Schink is a community researcher working in California. He is president of Community and Local Neighborhood Research, a research organization that partners with grass roots community based organizations. Before becoming involved in community based research he held a variety of positions in California state government. These included Research Chief for the California Department of Social Services, Chief of the State Job Training Program and Chief Economist for the California Employment Development Department. He also worked as a researcher for the California Air Resources Board and the Department of Water Resources. He has many publications including coauthor of "The Burden of Support: Young Latinos in an Aging Society", a book published by Stanford University Press. He was a member of the National Academy of Sciences National Research Council Panel on Data and Methods for Measuring the Effects of Changes in Social Welfare Programs and is a past president the National Association for Welfare Research and Statistics.
