I'm a 31-year-old journalist, born and raised in Southern California. I'm a graduate of The Ohio State University, I currently reside in Los Angeles, and I worked in the newspaper business from the age of 16 until mid-2007.
While raised as a conservative (I cast my very first ballot for Dole), six years as a daily newspaperman in the San Francisco Bay Area, and another two back in SoCal, offered me countless interactions with those the far right would seek to oppress. That, and the bold middle finger repeatedly raised by the Bush Administration to America and the rest of the world, convinced me I was a liberal who could only side with conservatives on certain fiscal causes ... and even that stance is fading away.
I cried like a little girl when Obama was elected president, I find the current culture war against our homosexual friends' equality shameful, and I believe listening to other opinions and having an open mind is possibly the single greatest trait any human can claim.
