McCain To Unveil Vow To Balance Budget In First Term

Spending less borrowed money is still spending borrowed money. I don't like anyone blowing smoke up my ass regardless of party.

It's not strange terminology, it's deceitful terminology. posted 07/07/2008 at 12:24:30
Here is an idea that may reek of socialism to some.

Let us tie social security to state run day care. Help out them middle class families with daycare run by the willing and capable retired folks. posted 07/07/2008 at 11:50:06
How does one save money from borrowed money? So I borrow, let's say, $400 billion dollars...and I only spend $350 billion of it. So I am supposed to balance the books when I am net -$350 billion?

Is the statement just totally utterly moronic...or is it that I am still on my first cup o' joe? posted 07/07/2008 at 11:42:24

You forgot to mention the disclaimer - which probably should have been apart of your original post:

"Recently an incorrect comparison of income taxes under Presidents Clinton and Bush has been making the rounds of the internet, showing up in forwarded e-mails and on numerous blogs and message boards. (See examples here, here, here, and here.)

This message shows that income taxes under George Bush are lower than income taxes under Bill Clinton, and it relies on Tax Foundation data to make this comparison. The author used a Tax Foundation chart showing the federal individual income tax rates and brackets from 1913 to the present to calculate the income taxes paid by hypothetical married and single taxpayers at various income levels under 1999 tax law and 2008 tax law.

While the basic message of the comparison is correct (federal income taxes have indeed fallen under George Bush for groups at all points on the income spectrum), the chart created by the author of this comparison contains some mathematical errors. Furthermore, the comparisons are exaggerated by the fact that annual inflation adjustments in the tax code would have lowered tax bills in 2008 relative to 1999 under a constant nominal income amount.

The table below presents the correct amount of tax paid by each of the hypothetical taxpayers in the comparison. Note that this comparison does not take into account the Alternative Minimum Tax, and the taxpayers in these examples take the standard deduction and do not have children." posted 07/02/2008 at 11:50:13

McCain Pledges Allegiance to NAFTA

Is Wright Right About Racism?

I am a Democrat like Barak Obama and I do not feel like he has deceived me. How have you been deceived? I like Barak...is that in itself his deception? I certainly do not consider myself a follower or investor. How has he lost it for us Dems? The election hasn't happened yet. If McCain does win, then you can explain why it was Obama's fault. I would argue these types of negative generalizations, like the ones you make, will be why the Dems lose (though I am not convinced we will lose). These generalizations and obscure accusations are a real turn-off. posted 03/29/2008 at 13:05:47
My horrid grammar. So much for the "I don't need no stinkin' preview feature" theory. My apologies. posted 03/29/2008 at 11:52:57
Great post. I also agree with a lot of what Wright said too. I think there is a lot of racism. My mom, a lovely Korean woman, who still, after living in this country for over 40 years, complains about the prejudice she feels. I also remember telling me, in my youth, "never trust black people." Just straight up like that. I believe there still is a lot of racism in this country. This whole controversy is fake and is a stoking the fears of racism against whites. I believe white racism does exist, a lot of it a product of our own actions and fears. Wright seems our government as a tool of oppression. Look at our history, he has a right to. posted 03/29/2008 at 11:47:37
