Trust Not in Trust Funds

Of course, Bush's subsidy to Big Pharma with its no compete clause on drug supplies to Medicare do not help the fund.

People are living longer and medical care is becoming more sophisticated and hence costs will inevitably rise. Would you want it any other way ? I believe 90% of all medical expenses occur within 6 months of death and therefore Medicare bears the brunt of all medical care in the US. Covering everyone with Medicare would be much less expensive than the current for profit denial of service system we have now.
Lose your job- lose your health care - get sick - go bankrupt - your house is foreclosed. There has to be a better way.

In any event the projected shortfall in Medicare is easy to remedy - eliminate the cap of $95,000. Problem solved. In any case is it not time to drastically cut the Pentagon budget ? Our mighty Air Force could not even shoot down a passenger jet on 911 for Chrissake. posted 03/28/2008 at 16:37:59
