If you Obamaholics think there is moral equivalency between Obama's denigration of small town America and Hillary's denigration of Democratic Party acitivists, you're nuts. I'm a Democratic Party activist, but I don't expect the public to be worried about my feelings. Those who want to play in the political arena need to be prepared to suffer the slings and arrows that come with the territory. Don't expect the average Joe or Joan to get worked up about this one.

Obama: New Yorkers Cling to Style and Fashion Because they are Bitter at Their Superficial, Vacuous Lives

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of Edgar Lee Masters's Spoon River Anthology. While the work is often unflattering, as you say, it also holds up the lives of those deceased citizens for us to be proud of. It presents a well-rounded picture of small town life. Those citizens were not bitter, for all their foibles. Hope and the promise of America are intermingled with disappointment and injustice, just like real life. Similarly, John Steinbeck was persona non grata in Oklahoma after publishing The Grapes of Wrath, but a careful reading of that great book reveals Okies to be the salt of the earth, the foundation on which this country was built. Though they were flawed, the Joads are unforgettable literary symbols of all that is great about America, despite what has happened to them. My Oklahoma ancestors would be proud of them.
Obama needs to get back to talking about hope, and forget about this bitterness. Nobody enjoys being called bitter. posted 04/18/2008 at 16:35:03

Obama Criticizes Debate, Attacks Clinton For Being "In Her Element"

Yeah, he "defended" her by bringing that up. He damned her with faint praise. Anyway, we agree about the media. That's something. posted 04/17/2008 at 18:52:06

You need to do some investigation. This cult is no place for children. The branch in Texas is made up of the elite of their polygamist sect. No imperfections allowed. Unfortunately, many of the members are so inbred that they have a higher than average rate of Down's Syndrome and other conditions, but not in the Texas location. That is Warren Jeffs's private domain. Only his handpicked supporters are allowed there. Also, many of the children aren't even sure who their parents are. Those women who were interviewed are sad, sad examples of the mind-control and dehumanization of women practiced by Jeffs and his followers. The women steadfastly refused to answer questions about the marriage of young girls to older men. They won't. They are carefully programmed to support Jeffs and to "Keep sweet." Those children need to be out of there. Are you aware that Jeffs claims to be Jesus? What more do you need to know? posted 04/15/2008 at 18:40:52
